Timelapse of Kebu's live keyboard rig build

Some of you have asked for a timelapse of setting up my keyboard rig, so I made one while I was setting up my rig for my concert at Assembly Winter 2022.
The actual setup time is about two hours. But then there is the load out of the car which takes about half an hour or more, depending on how many persons are helping. And there is always something extra happening (I probably cut away about half an hour of action from the video that was not directly related to the setup, like answering a phone, discussing with the stage manager, going away to park my van etc). So normally I reserve 4 hours for load in and setup, but in the worst case I can do it in 2,5 hours, but then there is no time for troubleshooting if something goes wrong.
My Urban Dreams tour keyboard rig consists of the following equipment:
Akai MPC 2500 (only for sequencing and triggering)
Alesis Andromeda A6
Arturia Keystep
Behringer X32R & S32
Dave Smith Tetra
Hypersynth Xenophone (x 2)
iConnectivity MioXL & MioXM
Jaspers 4D & KSV keyboard stands
Jomox Airbase99
Lexicon MPX1
Korg Mono/Poly, Polysix (x2) and Poly-61
K&M Spider Pro keyboard stand
Marion Prosynth
M-Audio Trigger Finger
Oberheim Matrix 1000
Roland TR808, Alpha Juno 1 & 2, Juno 60, JX-3P (Kiwi-3P), JX-8P, Jupiter 6, MKS-70
Sennheiser ew IEM G4 in-ear monitoring
Strymon Big Sky
Touched-by-Sound DRM1
Yamaha 01V96
And he built everything himself, every cable tie, every plug connected himself. 👏
Yeah...truly one man show.
I mean, how else could he trust everything is set up correctly? 😁
Do i care?
Done few similar things like this. There is no way i would let someone do this for me. I could not even trust my self with this.
Kebu you are really great !!! Besides being a talented electronic musician you are also an excellent technician, you don't need any service support. Great!
Боже мой, у этого человека не мозг, а суперкомпьютер Гугла 😳😳😳 Вы великий музыкант👏👏👏👏👏👏
Kebu is amazing, very humble guy. Excellent 👍🏼
This is excellent. The work behind the gig: flight cases handling, picking keyboards, cable routing , etc :)
The true super hero of keyboards, he make all alone😊 This guy is good!!!
Such a humble guy would love to meet him, very interesting and intelligent person. Love his music, he is the one for the 21st century, love his awesome way of creating excellent sounds.
Incredible timelapse video. You're a crack, how you've been setting up everything and then the time comes for the show to start. Looking forward to seeing videos of the event, your music is amazing, thank you very much for sharing your talent.
That's brilliant to see :-) Thanks for sharing. That reminds me of when I was at university 30 years ago; every half term, I'd bring my rig (only 5 keyboards I think plus all the drum machines, mixers, effects, tonnes of cables, Atari ST) back home to my parents house to set up for a week or two.... and then take it all back to wherever I happened to be living when term started again! It just about all fitted in an Opel Ascona ! Happy days!
Waaaaay, back in the early 80's I played in a Christian band called Joyful Noiz and it was just me and another keyboard player with synths, a drum machine (Roland TR-909) Yamaha QX3 and much more. The only original piece of gear I have left is a Yamaha MJC-8 midi patchbay. We were both into analog synths, Yes, I'm still kicking myself for selling my pristine Jupiter 6. Anyway, I say this because I'm not sure folks realize how much work goes int setting the all this equipment up. I don't know if you read these post Kebu, but I'm in my mid 60's now and really enjoy your music. (AND, I still have our original songs on a TDK Cassette) :)
Amazing 🤝👋👌
Outstanding! It’s great to see that you do this work yourself. I can understand why and I would do the same. I bet your pulse raises when you power them all up a and make sure they still work😃 I have a Polysix and switching it on is an experience. I always play a chord straight away and listen to the VCO’s come into tune. These analogues are alive and you make them sing.
Good to see that I am not the only one who needs between 2-3 hours setup time! But ofcourse I did already know. Its the way it goes with analog live played gear.
KEBU, a synthesizer legend
Connecting silence minds before the lightning and thunder. Absolutely awesome dear brother. 🙏 Waiting novelty from your mind and fingers. 🙏
good afternoon dear kebu
it's a very big logistic to install your different keyboards and plug all the wires .
all of this with the perplexagon part 5 very beautiful music
have a nice end of day take care
see you soon
I really like what you do and where you come from! I don't forget that you started by doing instrument demonstrations and to come to what you are today! A long journey but one that has allowed you to become an international star. Good luck for your next concerts! (from France)
Kebu!
YES!
This is so awesome to watch. Am I the only one that watched this multiple times :) Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sebastian for taking us behind the scenes! Great like always my friend! Greetings from Germany! ;-)
Thanks, Sebastian, for the behind-the-scenes video. Not only do I love your music, but I also admire that you set up everything yourself, and in approximately two hours! I would take me all day! Of course, having set it all up so many times makes it familiar. Some people may not know that not only do you setup your own gear, but actually service and repair your own gear, including one of the most important pieces of touring gear: Your VAN! I saw the video. Hehe. Those Jasper stands look great! Kind regards from the USA and best of luck on the remainder of your tour.
God I had no idea , on top that your music is incredible then all of that work is crazy man!!! Thank you for your music it’s medicine for me !
So much love ❤️ for these instruments! Doing this every time, huge respect!
The amount of craftmanship is extraordinary!
Huge respect! Your work and music is amazing! Thank you!
Spectacular to see you in the preparation! Great Kebu :-D
Thank you for sharing! I thought someone else did it for you. It's like moving the whole studio to stage.
There’s only one Kebu ! Awe inspiring!
You are so awesome Kebu.
You are just amazing and really inspiring! And you are doing all the setup by yourself - and then doing the whole show. This must be exhausting. But a great feeling at the same time. I am looking forward to seeing your show live! :-D
Congratulations!!! 👏👏👏
Hi Kebu. A fantastic insight into what you have to do before each gig. Awesome track to watch it with. I have watched this numerous times now. You are brilliant. Kind regards Ian.
