The Gotcha Man right! I have no fucking friends to begin with hahaha. I could call on people if I needed serious help but I’m not sure I’d rely on them. Jeff you can tell knows his shit, and is a good guy!
Still blows my mind that you guys don't have a million subscribers. Some of the best content and best cinematography on youtube, these look more like something from a TV show than a youtube channel, great work as always and I can't wait to see this channel grow
Well since it blows your mind, here's why I haven't subscribed (though I realize I'm not speaking for any/everybody-/-else): The whole "put it back together as fast as possible for drag/race/whatever-fest/meet/blabla" only to destroy a forged motor taking the typical deadly shortcut in the wrong place kind of ticks me off in the Discovery/History Channel sort of way (though probably not intended), it's just one of those quirks with me as a viewer. I can only subscribe to so much before I run into trouble watching all of the subscribed content in an afternoon, makes it more of a chore than entertainment (UA-cam being exactly that), if my time is used for someone else's profit (views = money) I want that time to be good (for me), and in this case: Unattainable Evo's/Scoobies and FWD's just isn't my thing at all, and with so many good channels that I'm already subscribed to already feature FWD's and other unattainable vehicles in one way or another I have simply been forced to mentally filter them out, even if the content is good. I personally want to watch videos featuring content I can relate to. So don't get me wrong, good content, I just can't follow, subscribe, like, bell and have my FB wall further plastered and so forth for absolutely every single channel when they're the ones with the profit to show for it (evident with the cars and money spent on that already) and I'm the one who has to spend the time sifting through it. And before anyone/body (can't be too safe these days) else feels the need to complain: Read: Context of the situation = Dillon was the one wondering, I gave my honest .5's to him (not anybody else) hoping he can make sense of it. In so many words: Denied. Edit: And don't even think about going political. (that should about triple vault secure my *ss here I think).
Man the the production quality is more Netflix than UA-cam! It might be an obvious question but why not another SVX engine instead of the all the custom work? I mean...ok the 1st one turned out to be bad; wouldn't it it have been better off looking for yet another SVX engine? Heck even a whole another SVX to part out perhaps. Not sure if am missing anything; and hope it runs soon!
I’ve been following this channel since about the first escort build, and no matter what happens you guys never ever cease to amaze me with your cinematography, audio, and just your video production. I know countless hours are spent on just one of these videos, yet no matter how tiring, how exhausting, or how frustrating it is you do an absolutely phenomenal job. Studying in the video field i know there have to be hundreds of shots that aren’t used, thousands of pictures that never make it to instagram. That non-stop attitude is why i will always commend your work. You guys do one hell of a job with the cards you have been given. Thank you for the inspiration and the countless nights of helping me not give up on cars.
So I did the svt swap on my 02 focus back in 06 . For me it was easy as I had a complete donor car. I had a 02 zx3 auto . The bad thing about the st170 engine for boost is the 10.5 :1 compression. The stock engine comes with forged con rods, the other parts are cast. It shares the same core head as the zx2 but has been " cossie-a-fied" the block is a focus/contour unit. I ran mine n/a and was my daily for better part of 8 years. I had it dynoed at around 168 hp and 152 ftlbs at the wheels , mated to the six speed and my car was significantly lighter than even the zx3 as I stripped sound deadener and had non of the air bag seats( they weigh about 60lbs each) or the abs/rear disks....most fun I had with my clothes on, I miss that car. It's final form it had a tailgate shave, hand made one of one carbon/kevlar hood, uprated suspension , wheels , tires, control arms front and rear , it was capable of 150 mph and 0-60 was around 6.2 seconds😏, I miss that car.
The emotion when Ben said "so when are you coming back?". Someone else said we need more Jeff's and I agree. Such a nice feeling to work on a project with your friend(s) in the garage. I like cars, but it's not about the car. It's about doing it with cool people. And meeting cool people on the way.
I love this guys willingness to learn and actually do some real work. Some UA-camrs just throw money at cars and don't know anything. This guy is a real enthusiast. Subed
Subarus Launch Control has a full media production team behind it. Somehow your two man channel competes with them for best automotive content on UA-cam. Absolutely incredible
I absolutely loved this video. The bond between the guys working in the garage on a common challenging goal and doing what we all love was perfect. I love the fact that the simple truth is: good work and custom stuff takes time. As much as I would have loved to see the rebuild to be in done in time like every other show the simple truth is sometimes it just doesn't work out the way you wanted it to. But when it's done you will be overwhelmed with accomplishment.
I have a mark 1 Escort that I am in the process of rebuilding but it may take a couple of years due to the work and budget but some cars they captivate you in such a way that it is hard to let go. For me the mk1 was the car I learnt to drive in and work on.
The production quality and cinematography is just beyond words. I don't understand why this channel is so underrated. Can't wait to see this channel grow and prosper. 💜
Oh the fun of "Yep it's a good engine" been down THAT path a time or two! Rule number 1, don't trust the story! Tear it apart and verify! Absolutely outstanding to see you guys showing how these processes TRULY go. Keep up the good work!
Very nice production quality, looks more like a TV show than UA-cam! Our builds typically take months to even drive around the block, much less call it "finished" (they're never "finished" lol)! So in my opinion, you guys did a phenomenal job for only working on it a week! Rock on!
Good point at the end about taking your time on swaps. I have R&R' d several engines in my time, and can make pretty good time on them. That's service work though. When you have to modify every little thing to make something that was never designed quite that way work, time goes out the window. Good work on the escort, can't wait to see it in action!
Good to see you keeping it real! I can totally 'amen' to the fact that things like this take so much more time than people think and expect! Most important thing is you never quit. And Jeff, you're a legend!✊
Ooohhh, I feel for you. I know the melted forged pistons feeling all to well.. Mine was plural though, fuel pump lack of supply due to throwing in a new pump last minute then not checking afr's. 4th redline 8.5k, into 5th pulling hard then slight hesitation and see boost gauge rapidly bouncing from vacuum to 30+psi, look in rear view mirror and the whole straight is a cloud of thick white smoke... Result: Ej20 sti closed deck block boat anchor lol
I was just telling my buddy about this car the other day. Crazy that I came across this just now. Awesome build brother. Love to see this car get some love, and SO happy to see that you're still wrenching on it. I really wish that I would've filmed more of me building my 500 wheel horsepower Civic. That would've been a good video series.
I went with all ARP hardware on my LSVTEC turbo in my EK Civic coupe as well. I have probably $500 in bolts and nuts in my engine just to make sure that nothing can come apart or loose.
Love the quality you guys put out for us. I read people say your content is unrelatable, how much more relatable do you want with an Evo, subi swap, and an escort?! Love what your doing. REALLY would love to meet up with you guys soon, maybe at a track here in Cali, my treat!
My Father and I had a ZX2 that shared DD duty for the both of us. He would drive to work on 3rd shift and when he got home I would drive it to work on 1st. Man that car caught hell from the both of us, but it held up and still looked good when he finally sold it. Man I miss that thing. It was more fun to drive than my built foxbody.
Being a 90s kid and having had parents who both drive Fords in the 90s, I always thought that zx2 escort was a pretty neat car. Cool to see you track/mod it, also always wanted an SVT focus
Vibrant is probably my favorite aftermarket company. My car takes a beating in the chicago land salty winters and my quarter panels, control arms, struts, engine cradle is all rusting away slowly, including my header. I love this video. Wholesome as ever. I would much rather watch this type of content than "Twin Turbo Lambo build!" or "Cletus Corvette go kart thing!" Jeff is a good dude as well
Great video, especially explaining real life builds at the end, it’s so true, it took me 9 days to STI swap my 1999 forester sf5 turbo s, that was by myself, on my driveway with standard tools 🤦♂️🤣
me and my best buddy just completed a 2002 Fiesta Zs engine swap ... dropped a 1.6L GT25 turbo block into it .. total build time was 7 Months of only like 3hrs a day and limited funds .. 7 months but was worth it !!
Awesome video, I wanted to build my mk1 zx3 that I have, everyone told me it wouldn’t be worth it and to get a different car, when I got my mr2 I kinda gave up on my focus and she’s just been sitting in my driveway getting pelted by the sun, this makes me want to work on it again
Hey man ,,, your videos are really good and I’ve been watching them for quite some time … I’m seriously considering a build in the near future… thanks for helping me refuel my passion of working on cars ….
I've definitely been there. I was supposed to have mine at the track my memorial day... Nope 4th of July.... Nope. Labor day! Nope. It runs and it's done but like you said it's all the little things that keep getting you down.

The time, effort and dedication you put in with your friend says alot.
I love how you guys show how it’s REALLY done. No lies no sugar coating, you guys show how love to card can accomplish anything 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Probably not first but this is one of the best channels on UA-cam, so well produced and not only super exotic cars like some others!
You are way overhyped for no reason
That final note is so crucial. Engine swaps are so much more complex than a lot of channels lead you to believe.

Great attitude guys, excited to see the finished product!
Jeff is the man! Hope to see him in future episodes. Have you given up on the Legacy? It's been way too long.
Waiting for Sarah McGlocklin to come out and ask for donations
That was impressive progress! It would've taken me 3 months or more to get all of that done. Well done guys!
Oh man I had an 03 SVT focus with the EAP; really decent car, considering it was FF; that engine loved to wind up; I bet it will be great with turbo.
me and my best buddy just completed a 2002 Fiesta Zs engine swap ... dropped a 1.6L GT25 turbo block into it .. total build time was 7 Months of only like 3hrs a day and limited funds .. 7 months but was worth it !!
Where has this channel been all my life ❤️
Back to the roots, working on the Escort!
Awesome work guys. :-) Super excited on your build. As a Subaru guy I know complications happen every single day.
Hey man ,,, your videos are really good and I’ve been watching them for quite some time … I’m seriously considering a build in the near future… thanks for helping me refuel my passion of working on cars ….
YES. Finally update on the Escort.
That Focus SVT hatch would of been a way better platform to drive and race in lol
Very nice looking Escort. Makes me want one to take place of my '97 Klze probe gt
I've definitely been there. I was supposed to have mine at the track my memorial day... Nope 4th of July.... Nope. Labor day! Nope. It runs and it's done but like you said it's all the little things that keep getting you down.
Im glad we got a mk1 focus RS in the uk factory turboed ftw
