Hey! I've been so busy, it's been hard to watch videos, but, I am still making time to play guitar, working on chord changes and strumming patterns, and a few songs... (or parts of songs), every day (a few times per day.) I got to jam with an incredible musician, about ten days ago, and am going to have him come to my house, to learn more jamming ideas, from him. He just gave me chords to play, to switch to, a strumming pattern, and we played! It was so very cool!
@@chriswebbonline actually, I bought a beautiful Breedlove, and the sound/tone is wonderful! I just need to put in the time. The setup is nice, plays well, but I'll likely restring it with some x-thin strings. Did that with my other guitar and it made a world of difference. Then I gave it away to a lovely young woman. I can only play one at a time.
from Google the joints of the fingers are Each of the has three : metacarpophalangeal (MCP) - the at the base of the . proximal interphalangeal (PIP) - the in the middle of the . distal interphalangeal (DIP) - the closest to the fingertip., so next time you stick your finger up at somebody just tell them you were exercising your MCP yacht PIP and your DIP and I don't think you will get into trouble
Hi, despite your helpful advice a while ago regarding bar chords I still struggle massively with this shape exactly for the reasons you say plus my extra bony fingers. I can't get good pressure on the D string. Also, due to my playing the moveable A shape with my third finger flat on the fret board that finger doesn't bend the other way as well as it could so it damps the D string a bit.
Despite playing a long time and having a vague understanding of the principles of theory, I don't get 7ths; is there a trick to getting my head round the difference between dominant 7ths and major/minor 7ths and when and where to use them? Edit: Nevermind - it's Maj on I and IV, Dominant on V that I wasn't getting.
1-3-5-7 notes - major 7th 1-3-5-b7 notes - dominant 7th. Dominant has a flat 7th note. Is there something compared to other chords you mean by when and where to use them?

Whats the difference between a dominant 7 and a flat 7? Relative to the major scale, wouldnt this be a flat 7? Or am I getting confused somewhere? Pls help me o mighty justin
Good question and this has been / is a point of confusion for many. of us. Dominant 7 is a chord which contains a flat 7 note. Flat 7 is a note - the 7th scale degree of a major scale taken back down one half step (hence flattened). I'm a beginner guitarist, confidently getting to the end of Grade 1. I like to watch some more advanced lessons and find the tips very helpful. Great course, Justin. I love the Song Course App. Thanks for all you're doing
Trying to progress is so frustrating. I picked up just strumming chords so easy. In various different fingerings, barre chords, etc. But literally Everything else Involving more than just straight strumming chords is almost impossible for me. Like your oasis lesson was so easy until you started throwing in little licks... then it sounded like someone who never played guitar before. I’m about to smash my guitar or sell all my stuff and just say f it. do some people just not progress besides strumming lame ass chords all day?

The Best thing I heard in this video is when Justin said, if your muting that one string it's ok. I was about to tear my eyes out trying to get that string to ring clearly when placing the pinky on the b string. I've got smaller hands and it was driving me insane!🤪
I've learned so much about barre chords. Particularly the reasons they are not sounding good and how to fix them. Your attention to details makes all the difference. Thanks Justing!

Igbon5: Try pulling your elbow into your chest when playing these 7th chords. It seemed to help me.

I wish this lesson existed with thw same detail for every 7th chord type (dom/maj/min) and barre root (6th/5th/4th) string
