It doesn't give more heat when you turn the dial up, what it does is sets the temperature of the room, when the air reads under that temperature.. Turns off, it clicks back on when the room temperature falls below that setting, if you turn it all the way up.. Gives you constant heat because the room never reaches 80 or 90 degrees
But if you set the dial to 70 it will turn off when it hits 70 and back on when it drops to 69..68 to conserve power usage
When it's on, it's always on and when it's off its off
The heat is only determined by the low or high position which on this model is almost the same heat given that it's 1300 watts low and 1500 watts high
