Hey Vanessa, I am happy to know that I'm not the only one promoting the idea of listening to movies and reading the subtitles at the same time. I decided to start doing it in the past year, and I think it has been more than helpful. It has helped me to enhance my listening skills.

Fantastic tips! I already did these ones. Another good tip is to listen to podcasts or audiobooks on your way to work or to home. If you use a cell phone app, you can also use a function that can speed up or slow down the audio speed. This can help you understand difficult sounds or increase the challenge for easy ones.

Hey Vanessa!! Thanks again for this great lesson. Something that recently have helped me to get into the english world a little bit deeper is watching/listening children songs. Currently, my wife and I found that my little daughter is attracted to them; she really enjoys watching vids and likes singing all day long, so in order to teach her the right way of pronouncing sounds, we sing together with her, at the same time we learn.
Another thing that personally have helped me to improve my listening skills is listen tons of YT vids, podcasts, lessons (like yours), tutorials, webinars, recordings, etc. The words or expressions that I don't know, I look for them in the dictionary or google them; as I'm a visual person images help me to reinforce the meaning.
Hope these ideas help the community. :)
    Blessings!!

Hi dear master English teacher. My name is Abbas I am from Iran and I love your videos they are amazing. There is something I would love to share it to you and I hope you read it. Ok first you need a computer to do this method. 1. Try to make a tv series to mp3 and you need subtitles in English. 2. Open the subtitle with Notepad and even you can edit the subtitle and to play the mp3 you made from tv show you can use jet audio. There is an option on settings named trimmer, just klick on it and play the mp3 that you've made then you can both listen to mp3 and look up at subtitle and improve your listening skills. I think this way is very important and amazing do not hesitate just do it. Beleive me it worked for me. Thanks.

Excellent tips all of them! Maybe the third one a little boring after a hard day of work but I'm sure it's worthy. I love to watch (listen to) different types of videos or audios and I've noticed that some of them -scientific programs and documentaries for instance- are kind of easy to understand, while TV series and movies are in the middle, with Sports narrators being really hard to be understood... Well, sometimes I don´t get what they say even in Spanish!
