Curly hair has a mind if it’s own .. but it’s fun trying diff methods and products. Just recently found Curlsmith products and love then. The denman pulled my hair so much. I prefer the wet brush. Frizz for me means not enough leave-in. My ends need extra. Have you tried a curly girl cut? I prefer them. They add volume where I want it as it grows out it still looks great.
Curly hair creator here 🙋🏻♀️ your curls looked great! ❤ I totally hear you though on preferring the more clumped look. I also brush style and can’t seem to get away from it. It also helps the curls last so much longer through the week. The more separated look ends up stringy on next-day hair for me
Hi Jill, I must be honest, I must admit that I prefer the way you do your hair routine .The one you tried doesn't define the curls like the routine you do for your hair. Love your hair ,always wanted curly hair. Sending love and light from South Africa.
@@JillCimorelli,Oh yes for sure ,otherwise you will never know if it does work for your hair. You are right about everyone's curly hair is different. Glad you showed us the routine.
Hi Jill I have a another routine you can try if you want. I don't use a denman brush but I do split my hair in 2 sections top and bottom like a line above my ears. I use a leave in and gel and moose. One section at a time and more product. I also do brush my product through with my perfect hair care brush and microplop with my perfect hair care towel. Then I diffuse. If you want definition and volume the diffuser is key. Just thought I would give you another one to try if you want 💗
I feel like I have similar hair, and I usually get better curl definition and clumping when I use a little more product and keep my hair a little wetter (I spray it with water as I'm going if it gets too dry). I also suggest trying mousse instead of gel because it really helps my hair clump AND stay clumped. I also don't keep my hair flipped upside the whole time, just until after I put mousse in my roots, and then I flip it back to normal and put mousse in the bottom half of my hair to get nice clumps. Just in case you want to try a routine without using a denman brush again!
I've been thinking about trying mousse, any product suggestions? Also how do you create the clumps if you don't use the denman? Or do your hair just clump naturally? Mine does not sadly (as we saw here haha)
@@JillCimorelli I usually use the Not Your Mother's curl mousse or the Dove curl mousse! And my curls do clump on their own, but only under the right conditions. I'll put my leave in conditioner and curl cream in, put mousse in the roots of my hair while my head's upside down, then stand up straight again and comb through lower half of my hair if needed, then put a lot of mousse on the lower half of my hair in more of a stroking motion rather than scrunching until the clumps form. When I do it all upside down and only scrunch the product in, my hair doesn't clump well either! My curls are definitely more defined when I use a denman brush, but this method still works well for me, and it gives me more volume at the roots. Everybody's curls are different, but your hair texture def looks similar to mine!
You looked so young when you were wearing that red cap (when meeting Tara)!! Not that you're old now, but it was reminding me of pre curly hair Jill. 💖

The cake whipped mousse is very good too!! I also squish my hair upside down to help the curl pattern🥰

hahaha I know whenever my hair is straight I feel like I'm 4 years younger
