  • Faced with the daunting task of putting together a home recording studio, Nita Strauss reached out to her friends at Guitar Center Professional to design and build the perfect creative space for her to work in.
    Throughout every stage of the process, Nita worked closely with the Guitar Center Professional team to make sure that all of her needs, like perfect sound isolation from the rest of her house, and workflows, and having immediately accessible quick and easy guitar and drum recording, were addressed.
    Building on her existing gear, the Guitar Center Professional team put together a dream-worthy studio, including Universal Audio's Apollo X interfaces, preamps from Warm Audio and Heritage Audio as well as a number of microphones, including the exceptionally versatile Slate Digital ML-2 SDC microphone, Nita's go-to choice for guitar cabs.

    Hi Nita !
    When you record the modulation, do you apply it in post production with plug ins or do you already create the preset with the modulation and record directly in pre production? To have a more professional sound, is it better to record the guitar sound without effects and then apply the modulation with plug ins or using eventide?

    So she didn't have to think about or even research equipment. They did everything for her. Totally relatable 😒

      @christianconnett 10 місяців тому +4

      There are other interviews with her where she talks about all of her equipment. She’s not stupid. She picked what she needed for a reason, some is from her previous sessions and album.

      That sounded mildly sexist, but I'll pass that for a moment. Most of her gear has been used for 10+ years. The Rocktron has been used on many of her tours. Some guitarists are really nerdy when it comes to gear, and some aren't.

      they do look like they would rumble at any decent volume. I'd definitely have them on a stable surface or at the very least, some pyramids under. I'd also install some serious sound dampening, almost have a sound proof chamber to hear a pin drop, literally 🤨

      @@sirena7116 the Gen 2 L's weren't that bad. The 3's had boosted bass, terrible for mixing. The 4's were even worse. Haven't heard anything about the Gen 5's. The JBL 308P's are much more accurate in the same price range.
