There's no logic in this statement. No one sells/upgrade SSD for free. If Asus offered it with 8TB SSD, they'll charge +70% the cost if you installed yourself... And then it won't be more expensive than the laptop I guess?!
@@R023NThe SSD is more expensive than the laptop, how slow do you have to be to not understand? The SSD cost about $1k which is more than the lowest 2021 G14. This model in the video retails over $1k, so the statement isn't true but it's still very funny and if you weren't so square you'll understand it. For some reason I cannot boot of of my usb drive. It would recoginse it about half of the time and say secure boot blocked it and invalid signature detected. i tried disabiling secure boot and that did nothing. as i could not seem to get that to work i put the new blank ssd in my pc and plugged in the usb drive with my laptop's data on it, but it now says the drive is not formatted, and as i cannot access the data now i don't see a way to back up the files so reformatting the drive would wipe them rendering it useless. Can anyone help? i don't really care about my personal files as i only used the laptop for a week, but i need to get windows 11 and the starting files on to the new ssd somehow.
Thx for the video. Personally, I would rather clone the drive, but your way works just fine. There is one thing I need to ask about. How did you get the 32 gigz of RAM inside? The manual says that 24 gigz maximum is supported. There is 8 gigz soldered in and one slot for a memory module (originally 8 gigz Samsung module) available for upgrade. Did you put in the 32 gigz module and the soldered part stopped working?
@@desmondmasikhwa1700 I have 40Gb same laptop as show in the video, same spec, and everything works fine, i called support and they said that the processor supports up to 64 so it s fine

I am surprised you have upgraded your WiFi Card to 6 and SSD to 8 TB. I have the se laptop , and i was told by the Service guy that this laptop does not support WiFi 6 !!!! 😮
my questions is that if we get all the apps that came with the laptop, like the armory crate and such, basically like starting a brand new laptop, or does it just install windows again?
Can confirm that it installs any apps that were originally pre-installed. So that includes the Armory Crate. However, if you install any other apps such as games or any web browsers, you will need to reinstall those manually.
@@VentwosWingblade that’s amazing, yeah all the other apps I could easily download but there may be hidden apps that came preinstalled that make the laptop work as it does, that was my concern, thank you very much
@@guntherschultz912 No worries. I was able to replace it. So good news it works just fine. I only got a 2 TB SSD. Also the RAM can go up to 40GB if you buy a 32GB because 8GB RAM is integrated onto the mobo. Hope this helps. Also just in case, do not try to remove the battery cable like I did. You'll just end up ripping it. And as long as you make the backup, it downloads Amory Crate for you as well.
I have the same model but with the 5800hs and rtx 3060 and the ssd slot is PCIe 3.0. Just check the model configuration specs of the one you're interested in. If it's PCIe 4 then you can get those speeds. PCIe 3 is limited to about 4000MB/s and PCIe 4 is 8000MB/s.

At the price of that ssd I think I would have got a backup ssd and put that money in to a newer computer just for video editing

I have the same top spec model. So it actually comes with 16GB soldered, instead of 8. And actually supports up to 48GB.
