  • Training dogs using food rewards is often criticized by some who question its effectiveness, especially in situations where food isn't available. However, these criticisms usually stem from a lack of understanding or experience in using food as a training tool.

Just found your channel a couple of weeks back, really enjoy your content. My wife and I have 2 Jack Russells, the breeder is JRTCA all the way, so they are bred for hunting. I don't hunt them - the 6 year old male finds a way of doing that for himself. The 7 month old female is just incredibly smart. I've been using some of the methods on your videos and they work really well considering they are smart and stubborn sometimes. I enjoy your no b.s. way of explaining things. My wife told me I should take some training courses so l'm looking at yours specifically. Thanks for putting out so much great content.

My Labrador (the first one I've ever had) always carefully sniffs a treat when I hand it to her before she eats it. No big deal, but does anyone know how selective breeding produces this kind of behavior? My Mini Schnauzer just snap ups the treats in a millisecond, which I've always assumed was the doggy norm.
