Following on from the Elton John-endorsed lead single ‘Immortal Lover’ and follow-up ‘Your Eyes’ (feat. Ane Brun), which saw the producer break out of his shell to deliver a more eclectic sound, Andrew Bayer now continues the support of his forthcoming album ‘In My Last Life’ with the unveiling of his latest single ‘End Of All Things’, set to impact on the 14th August.
With a ten-minute running time, ‘End Of All Things’ is an expansive and atmospheric release that indulges his love for ethereal soundscapes, and delivers one of the more ambitious cuts on his new release. Taking his cues from the likes of M83 and Porter Robinson, this new single focuses more on the broader and bolder side of electronica, suiting the producer’s more progressive direction.
This time teaming up with vocalist and songwriter Alison May, another of this record’s regular collaborators who was also featured on his last LP ‘If It Were You, We’d Never Leave’, he has created a sound that swells into a wonderfully warm expression of electronic grandeur, before the second half takes on an almost Sigur Ros-like sound, building into a euphoric crescendo that manages to fully capture the wonder of his musical direction.
"As we all know, there’s endless uncertainty around what happens when we pass away,” explains Alison on the song’s meaning. “End Of All Things is about that uncertainty. The question is raised from the point of view of someone who is burying an important individual (lover, brother, friend). At first, this experience may feel like the end of all things -burying that person, or dying yourself. But, it’s really just another stop for “always”. Ultimately, this reaches the conclusion that there is life before and after the blip that is one’s time on earth, and takes solace in being part of a “great plan”. I think there is comfort in knowing that our individual lives are part of a network and we get to participate in something much bigger than ourselves."
Featuring on no less than five singles from his new album, May’s voice has this magical and otherworldly quality that suits the producer’s broad and grand style down to a tee.
‘End Of All Things’ is set to arrive on the 14th August, while his highly anticipated new album ‘In My Last Life’ will be available from the 24th August via Anjunabeats.

He most definitely is. I saw him live at Q in Seattle and he was clearly sick, but was Vibing with the crowd and pouring his heart out in his music. You can visibly tell that he has a truly beautiful soul. You still need to say it though ;) That way hopefully he hears it and smiles.

#TLDR : This reminds me of the time when I had a life-changing vision and accurately recreates some of what I experienced.
This track brings me back to 11/15/97!
I had a very high fever, traveling in and out of consciousness for 3 hours. During that time, I had barely finger's grasp on consciousness. I experienced a series of hallucinations, with visions so unspeakably gorgeous as to inspire awe.
What did I see? I witnessed myself floating through forests of lights. I swam in oceans of stars and felt a great, expansive oneness with a grand and elegant structure of... something! I felt as though we (all life, really) were all dewdrops sparkling in a giant, 3D spiderweb structure. It felt organized, expansive, spiritual, sensual and joyful. (You know, the feeling when you join Beethoven, Neil Degrasse Tyson and the Buddha, dancing a conga line at a wedding).
I awoke to the sound of breathless sobbing. Full-lung, heavy-throated wailing like I had never heard before. It took me at least a minute to realize THAT I was producing that sound. That's when I realized I was crying because it was so beautiful. I was crying because I had seen something so expansive and vast that I knew I could never use language or painting or music or logic to express. But this song really captures it.
Pay attention to the 1:00-2:00 minute mark in this video. That is almost exactly what I saw. Wow.
This song, this music video, makes me think, what have I done to be remembered? Will I be remembered? Or when my body has been laid into the ground, will my memory fade as my body slowly decays?

If you play M83's "Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun" song at 0.75 speed and this Andrew Bayer song at 1.25 speed (see the youtube settings gear if you don't know how to do that) at the exact same time, they totally match = roughly 385 seconds long each! Some of the images/events even match up.... a real Pink Floyd/Wizzard of Oz thing happening here.... it's awesome.

Despite obvious inspiration taken from Sea of Voices (as the description eludes to), I really like this. The vocals in particular. Got that 'end of summer' feel to it.
A very dark version of Sea of Voices, that is. If that was for an anime's closing song, this would be its live action's version.
