    STORYLINE:
The defence minister in Afghanistan's interim government told reporters in Kabul on Tuesday where he believed Osama bin Laden was hiding.
Mohammad Kasim Fahim said there was "a strong possibility" bin Laden, the alleged mastermind of the September 11 terror attacks, was holed up on Safit Ko, the white mountain.
Fahim added that he thought Mullah Omar, the former leader of the Taliban was located on Mount Maroof, near the Pakistan border.
The defence minister also said that an international peacekeeping force in Afghanistan should be no larger than one thousand and that it should have a very limited role in the post war settlement.
Fahim added that the accords on Afghanistan reached in Bonn last week do not demand the Northern Alliance to leave the capital Kabul.
The defence minister's comments come after a meeting on Tuesday morning with U-N Special Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, who is in Kabul to try and smooth the way for the new post-Taliban government.
Brahimi arrived in the capital earlier in the day for talks with leaders of some of Afghanistan's quarrelsome political factions.
Brahimi's spokesman said a peacekeeping force for Afghanistan was high on the agenda in the two-day round of meetings.
