Wise choice in takeoff direction! Beautiful scenery.

Woa, these are great. I'm glad UA-cam is suggesting smaller channels again.

Seeing Glacier peak up close makes me realize what Mt. Baker must have looked like before it blew in 1980...I think it was 12 k but not sure...this is a spectacular mountain and all these mts start basically at sea level...not from a high elevation plain...so they are very big and impressive....I have been really enjoying your various videos btw.

Love your vids as I used to fly and hike around there in summers. You missed one of the better scenes nearby, a chain of lakes on one of the ridges to the SE, towards Box Mountain. If I were you I'd redo the flight in early August, after most snow is melted and before the wildfire season starts. Getting there on foot is treacherous, but it can be done with care.

I DO love the "Die fawkers!!" comment by you!!! Seriously made me laugh.. As someone who has lived most of my 51 years in and around Texas, I have a true natural hatred for mosquitos.. This likely is an ignorant question , as I have never flown your plane (obviouly or one like it... What is with all of the stick feedback while taxing? I've flown a number of cubs years back and I don't recall so much feedback accept on my feet.. Then again, that runway looked to be pretty bumpy.. Thanks for sharing the video! Every now and then YT / Google actually delivers stuff I enjoy!

I don't really feel much in the pedals over bumpy ground, probably because the tailwheel is attached to the rudder via springs. I'm guessing the stick movement is probably just from the elevator bouncing up and down from tail being bounced up and down over the bumps. Glad you enjoyed the video!

@@jayphilipwilliamsaviation mine does the same unless I actively hold the stick all the way back. Without airflow the elevator is relatively heavy so it will bounce with bumps if not firmly held in place. Great video, Jay!

Skeeter season attenuates in August but it never really ends. A brisk wind really helps keep them away (and increases the evening/morning chill) so you can plan for it if you aim to go there. Including on foot.

Have you considered a Power Flow Exhaust System for more HP?

Doesn't look like they make anything for this plane, but I can't imagine you could ever gain much over a straight exhaust on an 85-hp engine. I've thought about a C-90, O-200, and C-85 stroker, but nothing's in the works right now.
In any event, there's not much that would turn this plane into a serious back country plane. Some people put a 150 hp in them, but I have no plans to do that.
