It was a sad story, illustrating the ultimate costs that cigarettes eventually take on a smoker.

reading about this particular story on the site I believe really helped my resolve and I was jut browsing the internet to see if there were articles on whether or not cold turkey is the safe way to go.
Anyways on day 3 right now and I was close to giving in on day one till I read about this on a site.

You are very welcome Paul. Yes this was always one of my favorite clinic experiences. For almost 30 years I shared it with all of my clinic participants in their programs and then in their follow-up letters. The article got a second life when I put it up on the Internet in Joel's Library at WhyQuit.com, probably reaching more people than it ever did in my clinic settings and now reaching another new audience with the UA-cam version. The clinic where this happened was over 40 years ago and her story is still helping people to this day. I believe she would have been very pleased to know that her experience is still helping to save people's quits and their lives by helping them to finally make and stick to a personal commitment to never take another puff.
