    Got a Jotter Originals FP (black plastic with a black long cartridge included, but also put a converter into the same order) with F nib, no issues whatsoever. The fine nib is really fine for me. Finally, a decent and more eco-friendly replacement for my old (but somehow still going) Aihao AH-2005 one-time use 0.5mm rollerball pen, although I don't know whether one can get a Jotter with an EF nib just to be able to write even thinner than that. I also like how it's not as *thicc* as modern fountain pens usually are, and almost as small as the ballpoint Jotter version. Overall, a nice, unpretentious, no-nonsense choice for those who just want a working fountain pen, knowing where to get the parts and add-ons for it if necessary.
    I wish they shipped all their FPs with converters though. Because the original one costs almost as much as the pen itself.

    I've got a few Parker fountain pens from back when I was in school (that's many years ago LOL) and they still, to this day, are awesome writers. My favorite one has a hooded nib. I don't believe I paid more than $5.00 US for any of them. I even have the original ink cartridges that came with the pens, which I refill using a pipette or an eyedropper. Great pens to have whether they are new or old. Nice review and thank you for sharing.

      Thank you for your comment Jeff. It's great that you still use your Parker pen - and even keep using the original ink cartridge!

    Thanks for the review. I have two Jotter fountain pens which I enjoy using. They do write very well. I just wish they were offered in a fine point.

    I have never used a Parker fountain pen or given the brand any consideration, but your review has captured my interest.

      I'm really liking Parker pens. Yet another brand I'd ignored into now.

    The performance in reverse is excellent. Very interesting models. Thanks Rob!

      It's very uncommon to find a fountain pen that writers this well in reverse. I'm honestly amazed by this pen! (I've ordered a yellow one from Amazon just now!)

    Hi Rob. Amongst my Parker pens, I have two vintage stainless steel Jotters. They write as beautifully as you described in the modern version and are favourite workhorse pens despite the competition of more expensive rivals.
    I don't know if it still applies but Parker used to fit the same type of nib and feed in the first four or five pens in their range, for example, the Vector and IM. This meant you were paying more money for a different style of casing. Thanks again for an interesting video.

      Thanks for your comment - it's good to hear that the modern Parker pens write just as well as the vintage ones.

    I had my Jotter capped for many many many months and it didn't dry out. This is a little sleeper pen.

      I'm getting into them myself - it wasn't intended as part of my Fountain Pen Journey, but I'm always discovering new manufacturers 😀

    How do they compare with the Parker vector

    • @FountainPenJourney
      @FountainPenJourney  5 років тому

      I've literally just laid my hands on a Vector today.
      They are very similar in writing. The vintage Vector I've got isn't quite as good as these modern Jotters.
      Different materials, though. I suspect that the metal cap of the Jotter will be better for those who want durable caps - the vintage Vectors that I've obtained seem to suffer from cracked caps.

      @@FountainPenJourney Parker makes an updated version of the Vector. I have 2 modern ones and 2 vintage ones, all with fine point nibs. They write very well. I agree that they seem a bit less rugged as the Jotter, but the Vector is a nice writing pen, too, and it does come in a fine point nib, which the Jotter does not.

    Do these pens take a converter ?

    • @FountainPenJourney
      @FountainPenJourney  4 роки тому +2

      Yes they do, but the proprietary converters cost almost as much as the pen. Personally I find it quicker to refill empty, clean Parker cartridges than messing around with a converter anyway.
