Hey Jake, nice build. I am a collector of old tools. The difference between old and vintage is huge, especially post industrial revolution when tools were being mass produced. Never be afraid to rescue some dusty old tool destined for landfill to re-purpose and give a new life to in a prop. Looking forward to the next video.

I'm glad I found this tutorial. I'm making a sci fi film and I wanted the guns in it to look borderline scrap built, or like they're half rifle half star wars blaster
Tip: You can use plastic fishing line painted silver or gold to make a prop electrical coil.

I’m going to a comic con this year and I’m actually doing fallout cosplay. I plan to make a combat armor chest piece, a vault suit, a baseball grenade, and a pip boy, but those are the only components I’ll be building (other than relabeling altoids and a pill bottle to make mentats and buffout, as well as drawing some nuka-cade tickets). I’m gonna just buy a toy lever action rifle and revolver.

Lead solder is safe to handle with your hands. As long as you dont melt the solder, then you are at no risk of contamination.

I'm getting ready to build a Pip-Boy with a Raspberry Pi, but your laser musket is impressive. There are some things, as you alluded, that you could have done better. However, a most impressive build. I may attempt one myself.
I know I'm five years late and someone have probably mentioned this but seriously, why am I the only person who knows what the centre of the generator is. I've asked many people and have heard of actual engineers still not knowing, it's a rotor, from a cars alternator. In writing this with one in front of me. I plan on using it for my own laser musket, even considered making it into a phone charger. I even figured out how to get the generator pierces to spin in opposite directions.

You should make prop money, but like future money. Like the money from Firefly (which I know you can buy replicas of, but I'd like something from a design aspect, not just a replica from a movie or game) or something else you can use in a fictional setting. Doing it for coins and cash would be cool.

Hey jake great job, if you don't mind me asking how did you get started making props, I ask because I am starting to make some myself and would love some pointers
I mean I always just kind of made stuff. I guess making halloween costumes or watching a movie and replicating a prop i really liked out of lego, then cardboard, then clay, then foam, and finally looking up how they actually did it in the movie and using that method. Google and your local library are your friends.

I've seen your flamethrower video and I want to ask you a question. I would like to let you know that the M2 and M9 flamethrowers had quick release straps for a quick escape for moments like the tanks being pierced through by an enemy round. If your old backpack frame has no form of quick release, can you modify them so that they do, if so how? What about cutting off the backpack straps and replacing them?

I have a tutorial for a miniature one. It's called DIY Cryochamber or something like that. In the past I've just green screened it onto a full sized set and then superimposed an actor into it.
it looks great but i live in holand and some of the things you used are hard to find here i know i can get the parts for the pod i was discribing thats why i askt for tips and ideas and maby measurments . and im sorry to say i dont have any thing like a green screen here so i have to do everything Multi purpos and the pod i can re use as a bed or something i just need to know the amount of head room from botem plank (aka the matras and the top aka the roof)
