On this case, the montero sport wins because the suspention, it have a double sway bar system atached to the diferential and the chassis, and with that, you have grip almost in any condition, you can saw it on the video, the tahoe starts a burnout almost instantly because of torque, but the montero doesn't, and its because the rear suspention
@@zmaznYes, but the Pajero / Montero / Shogun was discontinued in 2021. The Pajero / Montero / Shogun Sport is the only one being produced in certain countries. They are both great cars... the Pajero was a little tougher than the Sport, but it had an outdated design. I had the chance to test drive a brand new Montero Sport in Mexico City and that thing is a beast of a car. It's a shame I couldn't import it into the US.
Nope, it doesn't, I own a montero sport like that and it doesn't have an LSD, but it have a system to get traction on almost any condition, system who the tahoe doesn't have
Is not the engine at all, is the suspention, the montero sport have a double sway bar system to get traction almost on any condition, the tahoe doesn't have that
@@otrocanalpedorrodeyt6016 I just wish that engine was more powerful or get better mpg. That's why I still have in mind an LS swap or trade it for a escalade or an avalanche same year.
Unexpected, but Mitsubishi is always the best we own a 2-door pajero since 2011
Still driving my 99 montero sport ...

power vs traction 💪
Thats not a Montero.. thats a Montero Sport.
The Montero would drag them both at the same time.
Yup, can totally agree with that. Pulled a semi-truck out of a highway ditch with a 1998 Montero. Fucking beast of a truck to say the least.
is the 'sport' variant weaker than the regular montero?

Theoretically Tahoe would win, but drivers' skills are 50% of the equation.
LOL. Could be bad driver in the Montero. So maybe could have been even worse for the Tahoe.
Next excuse please!
Tahoe did not win.
Cool
Awd wins all day!!
Hard to believe
Why because the other is smaller? Lol
@@therealsolo23 smaller engine although they get the same mpg.
