I don't wallow in nostalgia, but I loved those variety shows when I was growing up. Never saw Dinah , but had the fortune to catch Peggy Lee many times in clubs from coast to coast. The most!
How sweet was Peggy lee what a stage presence she had to rock the house everywhere she went.Anyone agree with me??
Peggy had it all, looks, talent class.
Two gorgeous woman, with fabulos voice and master musicians both...a level of professionalism long since lost.
eoselan7 No. It's a new generation now. We are going to be just as great. 😌❤️💯💯
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️💯
Before being great you've go to be good...When are you going to start?
I love old music like this but the saddest part about watching these videos is the comments. People constantly say that people now don't have talent. My GOD you're just not looking in the right places. If you like jazz listen to the jazz now, not the top 40. Popularity shifts but talent will always be there. It's mind blowingly amazing.
Dinah had skills! I mean Peggy Lee did too, but I think Dinah is underrated as a singer. It seems like sometimes during "I Got Rhythm", she sounds like Mel Torme! She has just the right touch: not too heavy, not too light, she has such a wonderful energy as she swings through the rhythm!
I am a HUGE Peggy Lee fan but this is actually my fav UA-cam clip. Dinah was the most underrated vocalist in history!! She was fantastic.
It's not just about the style of music (although this has great style and vocals) but about class. There are great vocalists today but performances are so crass now whereas this is so professional and well done. That is what we're missing today, the class and style of this as well as great vocals.
100% Facts.
Dinah and Peggy are great together. Their singing brought much happiness to their listeners.
is it bad that i cant stop watching this?
What a fantastic print! 1959 was long before we got a color TV. What great entertainers they were!
Well folks, the name of this program is "America Had Talent".
+Len Foxman * accent on the word "Had".
You said it !!!!
They sound so beautiful together! Their outfits too
Who doesn't LOVE Dinah?
I LOVED her talk show....but she can't sing !!
@@raymondcurry2278 go home raymond, you are drunk and deaf!!
No one sings like this any more love it
Thank you for posting this performance! Two incredible female vocalists, Peggy Lee and Dinah Shore.
Peggy Lee & Dinah Shore Nice!
Very nice selection!!!! Dinah and Peggy really are a lovely duet!!!!
This was a pleasant medley with two pleasant women. (I used to watch Dinah Shore in the 1970s when a good deal of her show was about cooking...)
This is my NUMBER ONE FAVORITE UA-cam CLIP. They are PERFECTION.
what a charming and talented duo..love you both.
Superb !!!!
Only two hotties with bunch of talent good old times I wasn’t even born at this time three years before I was born love this music and look how beautiful they babes were ! Am I the only one that’s seeing this 😍.
Dinah was a fox. Notice her trim waist and athletic arms. She was middle-aged by the time of this clip but she had "it."
i wish they had variety shows like dinah shore's chevy show
Yes, "THE DINAH SHORE CHEVY SHOW" was telecast in color [Sundays, 9-10pm(et)], and was one of NBC's few weekly series seen in "Living Color" at that time. In fact, very few of the network's shows were in color- and they were virtually the ONLY network scheduling color programs at that time- and color TV sets {especially RCA's, the parent company of NBC} were priced so high {$1000-2500, and up} that only the affluent could afford them...
Yes, plus the fact that this was recorded on 2" quadruplex videotape, it's amazing that this survived.
This amazing!!!
Brava!
This is so entertaining
assistindo aqui do Brasil...que coisa mais maravilhosa!
Dinah Shore had a fine figure.
Dina se ve muy fina dama, eso proyecta, muy bien ambas.
Superb quality soothing. Are there any Duets & Orchestras at Carnegie Hall?
Dinah Shore and Doris Day. Two of the best vocalists from the recent past who look as well as they sound.
That's not Doris Day.
Evidently errolfan has problems reading the titles of UA-cam videos.. just sayin'...
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Have you a clip with Dirch Passer" in The Dinah Shore Chevy Show" Episode #5.19 (1961)?
@fromthesidelines These women had such a rich grade of class that makes today's female TV show hosts look like whores commentating a roller derby. We need another Dinah Shore for this generation.
SORRY TO SAY, THOSE DAYS OF SHEER TALENT.....AND CLASS ARE GONE IN THIS COUNTRY....I GREW UP IN THE FIFTIES AND EARLY SIXTIES.....SOMETIMES I AM SHOCKED AT HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED...........HORRIBLE.
Pink Panther what other colors are there?
Real Ladies
Who would’ve thunk 60years after this aired bro’s would think ‘damn, I’d smash’.
Holographic projection
Apart from Peggy Lee!!!!!
There are other women in the industry I suppose!???
