American tax system : *screech* Dutch tax system: “We’ve done numbers for you, just fill in the annual report given to you by your employer and investment organisation, fill in some checks and sign here, here and here.
Honestly if you just have one or two jobs and don’t have any alternate sources of income (ad revenue, scholarships, etc.) it’s not too hard, it’s just going to take an hour or two if you’re doing it yourself. If you’re doing it over something like Turbo Tax or other similar services, if you get anything wrong, your return gets rejected quickly and you just go fix whatever it tells you is wrong and try again. Or if you’ve got extra sources of income or need help figuring out if you need to take tax credits or protect other assets or whatever, you take it and pay someone else to do it for you because it’s not worth the headache, lol.

This is basically how my parents behave when I do their taxes.. I go on do all the work, ask an occasional question, and they act like it was so hard and challenging.. It's especially funny when we run into one slight issue along the way and they act like their whole world has suddenly ended..

They can do it, they just get too stressed out by it, but I find it easy. Have you ever asked for help on something? Does that mean you can't do it yourself? Non American here. I need explanation. WHY YOUR TAXES HARD? Edit: wow, never thought I'll be glad that I live in a country where employers/businesses are burdened with doing their worker's taxes, and us workers only pay the dang utility bills and house maintenance
Because our government makes it difficult for a person to do on their own. They do this so companies who do taxes for a person can make bank preying off of the people who need help. And if your wrong in any way shape or form. They charge you for that and you have to do them again.
Because our government screwed up and we r like this now…and besides the fact that everything revolves around taxes now it’s difficult to live financially. And don’t get me started on student loans for college…
@@peppermintdaisy well it really depends on a few things and apparently there are different types of taxes on how u work as well some taxes can take up to 15 minutes or an hour or if u own a few companies it could take days or weeks it really depends and yea but students loans r the worse ones some still pay them off even when their over 40 so it is difficult to do but this is America for u

My parents still does my sister's taxes (she's 25) because all she learned from highschool was the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.
