Hey ODK! My son and I hit Savi's Workshop in April and each built our very first sabers! I chose Elemental Nature mostly for the wood elements, but the dewback skin & teeth add a super-unique touch! After a few weeks and almost no dueling, it's behaving a little sketchy, but it's still gorgeous and is loaded with amazing memories! It also completely ignited my light saber obsession!!!
If two people in your party make a lightsaber and pick different categories, can you mix and match with each other. I also think it would be a lot more worth it if they let you keep the extra parts.
@@geniusperson5551 oh dang, wish I would have known that when I was there a couple days ago! Wish I could have used the sleeve that looks like wrapped leather twice instead of having to pick a different one.
absolutely. All the parts are made to fit on the chassis and the chassis' are all identical. Certain pieces might not line up aesthetically, but any pommel or emitter should fit on top of any sleeve and I think all the switches should fit between any sleeve choice. Go nuts!
When I saw that new emitter with the spikes on it, I immediately got Darth Maul vibes because the spikes look similar to his horns on his head. If I made a double-bladed lightsaber with two of those emitters, that would REALLY make it look like a double-bladed lightsaber that Darth Maul would use.
Hey man! Love the videos. One thing I learned, if you're having issues with your parts lining up, use a couple of 1 and a half inch slip joint washers. You can pick them up at any hardware store. Beautiful choice of parts 👌🏻 Great detailed video! And yes, you pay for the experience, because there ARE other sabers that are better quality both in sound and blade effects. I also love my Savi sabers.
I’d say it’s greed AND inflation. Let us not forget they’ve discontinued some unique lightsabers in favor of bringing in Plo Koon and Luminara’s whose lightsabers are just Darth Maul’s inverted and small detailing. And now those 2 are on a 30% discount cause they’re cluttering their stock

Thanks for this, that was helpful to see what options may be available, a bit more about the crests (which I assume you pre-choose in line?) and the tip about the hilt clip, HUGE! Was going to do that for wearing, but now I know, not too. Thank you.
Looks like Exar Kun’s lightsaber. Which I’m totally down for. Exar Kun is my favorite extended universe Sith. In Legends, he was responsible for enslaving the people on Yavin 4 and building the (SITH) temples that the Rebellion later used as a base in Episode 4.
I am so excited to go for my first time this coming February 10. However, 90% of the price increase is based around inflation and general corporate greed lol. I also think they realized how amazing the experience is so they know they can charge a premium for it. I’m only assuming it’s amazing because I’ve watched 1000 videos including yours. At the end of the day for a $50 increase it’s not horrible. They could’ve jumped it up $100 been real dirtbags. Great video my friend keep rocking.
The new power and control that you've showcased here is most likely modeled after Darth revans twin red and purple sabers the 4 prongs at the emitter opening are a bit shorter but I imagine that's a safety precaution don't want kids poking their eye out as easily
It would be awesome if they did a higher end experience where you are instructed by Professor Huyang and have a whole litany of parts to choose from in the workshop of his ship.
From what I can tell, the price increase seems to come from 2 spaces. For one, inflation comes into play. Just adjusting the sticker price, $200 in 2019 is worth just about $240 today. The price increase outpaces inflation just a bit, but that can take the next piece into account. I do also think the demand is higher than Disney even expected. Just looking at how often reservations tend to run out, people haven't stopped wanting these lighstabers. That consistently high demand tells Disney that they can increase the price a bit to meet that demand shift.
I understand that they need to change things up in the lightsaber designs to keep it new and get proper to buy them again, but I really liked the old elemental nature style, sadly never got a chance to build that one. Guess it's gone forever?
I told myself that my next lightsaber was going to be elemental nature but I feel like I’m going to be going with power and control again 🤣. The new design is too cool not to
I build the exact same one. I am having issues with it staying tightened. the two pieces that connect to the switch are constantly coming loose and free spinning. I have contacted Disney Customer relations about having those parts replaced buts its been kind of a headache. All in all the new pieces are awesome and its a great looking light saber.
I was at the park last week and came across this video. The price was 199, 220 with tax. So I think they have adjusted since this video. Really happy with my power and control, I made at the park, close to the one you got minus 1 piece.
@@FindingTheForce Had to do some serious google-fu to find it. It's an odd choice, honestly, because it was the runic language used in The Rise of Skywalker for the Sith language.
My brother, his girlfriend, and I will be building a saber in a few weeks. I built all four of the original design sabers over two visits, in 2019 (1) and 2020 (3). I’m really bummed out that Disney came out with new designs. I feel like I now have to complete the collection like I did with the original four. Of course I’m not at all happy with the price increase which might make collecting the new four a chore. The protection and defense saber was the first I built of the old design. I like the design of the new one, but I too am really impressed with all the new scrap metal designs. Even though I tend to be on the Jedi side of the force the power and control saber has really caught my eye. I know I’m diggin the new claw like pummel and emitter. I can’t really get a good look at the sleeves by pictures, but the ones that show wires on the outside grab my attention. Of the new 4 I think it looks the coolest. Power and control with a purple crystal. I may have some dark side in me, but I’m not a Sith
I just went through the Savi's Wrokshop experience and after I finished my build, they said I could buy the other pieces I didn't choose. I think they were about $25 each, so if you build one, you can get all the alternate pieces from that set for about $125. I don't know if you can buy the pieces from the other sets that weren't part of your build though.
Sorry TG, I'm afraid I believe they've discontinued all the parts. But if you contact our scavenger, they are still selling them over at Disney World for now. 👍🏻
I have a question as I'm going to disneyland soon, When do you pick out your scrap metal for the saber? I didn't see it while I was doing the reservation
Thank you for your review but I have a quick question. I'm going in a few days to build the lightsaber using the red kyber crystal but I noticed that when you were showing it off here, it looked more orange than red. Is that just because of the camera or is it actually more orange than red in real life?
My wife tease me that I cried during my light Saber build and when I saw the millennium falcon. I would love to get my hands on all the old scrap metal.
Hey ODK! So we have all four sets of the original line…Mine is protection and defense. I do also have a power and control. Protection and defense is my favorite. The new line looks interesting. Power and control looks unique. Elemental energy Nature also looks like they made some interesting upgrades; however, I still think protection and defense has the win. It definitely harkens back to being more “knights “of the old republic. I think the peace and justice is the fail this time around. It looks like they made a saber that people that like the last two releases of legends sabers, which was Plo Koon and I forget the other girl, which was just a retooling a bit from Darth Maul‘s saber. That I would say is greed. As far as the price going up, I do live in orange county and I have to say that it could be inflation but my default with Disney is greed lol. Lastly, I have to say I don’t think that it is OCD at all to want all of your parts to line up. I mean youre building a light saber that is unique to you to a point and a experience and you want those memories for that $270 to be a good one. I think that when something is off, it can ruin the experience or take away because you start focusing on what is off versus everything around you. So yes, I don’t fault you for wanting all the pieces to line up. They should be that way …it was piss poor design, not to have them that way. I had the same problem and had to send my parts back and they sent me some new ones that had better alignment. I agree with you. This is one of the coolest souvenirs that you can buy from a theme park. It is not just the item but it is also the experience. So the last thing that should take away from the experiences poor design. In any event, all in all l, three out of four sets improvement not bad.

The protection and defence parts remind me of Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) lightsabers.
I built my very first lightsaber on Jan. 16 2024 at Disneyland. They made the emitter smaller so it fits in the carrying case.
Really? Thats cool!
Can you still get the old Savis workshop scrap? Or did they get rid of it all when they introduced the new stuff?
Thanks for letting us know you can carry it on a plane. Was wondering about that.
Does the lightsaber type choose the lightsaber color?? Or can I get a elemental nature and then use a red kyber Crystal?
I am so excited to go for my first time this coming February 10. However, 90% of the price increase is based around inflation and general corporate greed lol. I also think they realized how amazing the experience is so they know they can charge a premium for it. I’m only assuming it’s amazing because I’ve watched 1000 videos including yours. At the end of the day for a $50 increase it’s not horrible. They could’ve jumped it up $100 been real dirtbags. Great video my friend keep rocking.
Just came back and it was worth every penny
Can you mix and match old saber parts with new ones or do they not fit? Thanks
The new power and control that you've showcased here is most likely modeled after Darth revans twin red and purple sabers the 4 prongs at the emitter opening are a bit shorter but I imagine that's a safety precaution don't want kids poking their eye out as easily
Going to build mine may 13 2024 at 9:30 am can’t wait
10:20 the emitter in the middle looks like a open version of Kenobi's TPM hilt.
I love your Darth Vader Helmet display in the background; where did you get it?
my son and I also are a savis workshop fan , i do have yhe brand new peace and justice and my son have the Protectiona and defense
Great video!
Savage Oppress had a lightsaber that looked similar to your new one. Lol really cool honestly
It would be awesome if they did a higher end experience where you are instructed by Professor Huyang and have a whole litany of parts to choose from in the workshop of his ship.
Loved your video! Just got my light saber and your right the experience is so worth it! Do they sell parts outside of the park?
Not anymore. They stopped a while ago after Covid strike + scrap shortage.
Never been there but i am a fan
Heck yeah!
Can you turn the sound off on the saber? Does the saber have sound control?
I told myself that my next lightsaber was going to be elemental nature but I feel like I’m going to be going with power and control again 🤣. The new design is too cool not to
I build the exact same one. I am having issues with it staying tightened. the two pieces that connect to the switch are constantly coming loose and free spinning. I have contacted Disney Customer relations about having those parts replaced buts its been kind of a headache. All in all the new pieces are awesome and its a great looking light saber.
the power and control? the color its red of the saber? or orange?
I agree with you , inflation is over making !!
I was at the park last week and came across this video. The price was 199, 220 with tax. So I think they have adjusted since this video. Really happy with my power and control, I made at the park, close to the one you got minus 1 piece.
Yeah. Only in Disneyland. For unknown reasons, they reverted the price back to 219.99. Instead of 249.99.
@Ark it's 249 at world and 199 at land?
A little late, but on the protection and defense parts it isn't Aurebesh but ur-Kittât, and translates out to "Force Wielder".
Better late than never bud. That’s really cool, thanks for letting me know.
Going here later this month as of typing this, so excited to do power and control! Not really a rebel/resistance person, I prefer the Sith more. ;)
What about the old parts, and are they still available to purchase.
I was hoping to make a peace and justice saber but now I am not so sure.
Going in a few months still have parts that make it look like Luke? Is the brightness the sane? I want the most authentic to Luke light sabor
They are not available in Florida yet. I was there last week.
Wow I feel lucky to live 30 mins from the park
Hey Wreck-It Ralph! Thank you so much for the amazing and thoughtful comment. Always great to hear from another Galaxy’s Edge fan! Thank you so much for watching. 🙏🏻👋🏻
Yikes ! I need to go back and edit some things. That was a totally voice texted comment. Sorry for the length. Lol
Are the old saber builds still available?
Savi's all day, everyday, twice on Sundays!!
