That stinks dude! Approved or not, you should be proud of it!

Thanks brother. I’ve talked to you before about how much I don’t enjoy the approval process. This is why.

My Moff Gideon I'm considering submitting for 501st approval. I have zero experience with, but I'm already nervous about it.
You already have approved armor. I say go for it and make the changes if they are doable. Enjoy the process of building, but do it for you and your passion. May the Force be with you.

It’s a nerve wracking process for sure. It’s my least favorite part of the whole build process, but it comes with a sense of satisfaction when you do get approved

You have to do what makes you happy. Like you said, you already are approved with other kits so if you want to take some time to dwell on it, that makes sense too.

Honestly, you should reflect upon why you originally bought this kit. Did you build it for the purpose of trooping in it with the 501st? If so, you should make the changes, and find your way through it. You’ve come a long way with the build, and you’re at the finish line. Without the specifics, I can’t really get into telling you how to find a happy medium on the adjustments needed…
If you bought this for you and your content creation, and being 501st approved was just a happy bonus, then maybe take a step back for a few months, reflect on things, use the kit for you channel… and then reassess if you wanna cross this bridge again. Like you said, you’re already in… you have all the time in the world to circle back and resubmit. The Legion isn’t going anywhere 😊

I’ll probably make the changes, but I’m not in any hurry, it will take the suit out of commission for a few months and I just like wearing this armor so much.

Well, you either play the game - or you don't. I had my post-Sarlacc/weathered Boba Fett approved with the Mando Mercs. During approval I got denied 4 times, which gets to you after some time. One aspect was indeed one I did not really agree with. But as I got that far, I decided to change it to comply. Though in my case, it was my first costume. The Mercs are really strict with canon costumes, was not too much fun, that I have to admit (that bucket was a PITA, I had to learn map drawing on a curved surface). But it was a great feeling to be finally accepted. To me, it is something special (call me elitist, I am okay with this).

I built a Cody myself and know, how much work goes into it. Also was the first try of Approval denied for several reasons. One was a mistake from the GMO, which was cleared. For the other ones, I had to do some tweaks. At least, the costume got approved.
That's the way it is. There are some rules to be followed.
It's your own decision, what you gonna do with it. For me there was no question. Go by the rules to be able to troop your, without a question, great built Cody.
From my experience, it's worth it. The reactions you will get from people outweigh by far your current disappointment.
    Go for it.
Btw. I'm from Germany and we follow the CRL and references more strict than any other garrison.

I’m in the Florida garrison, 2nd home of the House of Mouse, they’re also very strict on face characters. I’m sure I’ll eventually make the changes, I just really don’t enjoy this process.

Ive only done a jaw for 501st, so not dealt with a face character yet, but i heard similar sentiments about how easy it is to know more than your local approvers for canon characters quickly. Do you feel like it's mostly a divide between reference materials and crl, being overly picky in general or what?

There’s one major color issue with the Jetpack nozzle, and the bicep strap, a couple issues with not trimming the armor correctly, but the majority, I believe, are fitting issues, but the GML feels I need to cut and refit almost all of my pieces.

I say do whatever makes you happy. It's an amazing costume. That being said, you've put in a ton of work. You enjoy building these costumes and love accuracy. So why not make the changes (take your time and enjoy the process) and celebrate when you have another completed movie quality build (like your other pieces). It sucks being rejected in any fashion. I say, don't give them the satisfaction of seeing you give up. (bunch of freaking elitists) You've completed and owned them bi*#&^ before, do it again.

@@AncientCosplays a couple paint issues with the bicep strap and jetpack nozzle, some trimming issues with some armor pieces, but the majority of it, my GML feels requires major changes and refitting of most of the pieces, I feel it’s more strapping and bad photos.

@@DarthRageReviews ah i see thanks for letting me know because i want to eventually make a 501st approved realistic sergeant sinker costume by getting an imperial surplus kit (also can you get replacement parts from imperial surplus if you mess up drastically on one piece?)
