Loved the Premiere & Fantastic Video as always 👍🥰 I need to go see the Cheetahs 🐆 ASAP 🫢 Are you doing Octoberfest at Alton Towers on the 1st day? 🤔 Enjoy the rest of this week ❤️🤩xx
Thanks guys. Definitely recommend going to take a look at the new enclosure, hopefully both cheetahs will be on show soon! Oktoberfest were not actually sure about yet as it's just after we get back from Germany so it depends how we feel.
Great footage as ever, love your zoo vlogs. The female mother is in polar 2 with her female cub, the two male cubs are now in polar 1 with the other 4 males. A member of staff told me they were thinking of getting rid of the mara but that they might keep them for something for the hotel guests to look at, so i dont think that they will be moving them back into amazonia, but we will wait and see. I think the existing trees in amazonia have grown a lot but i think they must have added some more as well. Did you see the baby rolloway and baby cotton top tamerins. I believe that the mother and baby leopard are being kept in the back enclosure until the cub is older as they do not want it to become distressed. The male and female leopards are kept seperate as that is how they behave in the wild and she is usually in the back enclosure out of sight as she does not like being on display that is what i have been told by a keeper, but i expect the cub will be put on display when it is older. I can see the lion area being the next to be redeveloped as now there are only 5 lions so they could use one of the enclosures for something else if they moved some together. Next year we will have a baby rhino to look forward to if everything goes well with the female as she is expecting for 2024. They do have Cheetahs at Flamingo Land as well, they are in with the Rhinos.
Yeah, we got confused about the polar bear, we thought there was only three in project polar 2 originally (our memories are not the best 😅). We'd be gutted if they didn't put the mara back, that's such a shame. Weird that they have new signs for them. Completely forgot about the cheetah at Flamingoland and we even sat and took a ton of photos in the jeep outside their enclosure earlier this year 😅
Before Kristin was pregnant, she and Drake took it in turns in the front enclosure (after a couple of weeks for her to settle after arrival). She and the cubare in the nursery enclosure at present, with small, safe climbing frames, then will go in the slightly larger back enclosure until the cub can cope safely with the huge framework in the front enclosure.
Project polar 2 used to have the mother and her three cubs. The 2 male cubs have moved into project polar 1 and the mother and daughter are still in project polar 2
Oooooohhh that explains it then, we had it in our memory that there were only three bears on Project Polar 2 for some reason. Lovely to see so many bears! 🐻❄
Great Vlog boys, this one was a long one 😮 Love YWP I haven’t been in a few years and it’s literally unrecognisable I especially love to see active bears out and about, even without that great zoological standard of traffic cone enrichment The dole whip tasted like Petrol? Have you been siphoning fuel to get home again 😆 Shame they start closing things off early (toilets especially) literally flicking the metaphorical lights off a few hours before the advertised closed time
Haha we try to stick to our 20-30min rule but we only just went over on this one 😅 The amount the park has grown over recent years is astonishing! Honestly people say all the time that the polar bears need snow (wrong!) But they're overjoyed with a canoe and a traffic cone! That's all they want in life! (Oh and probably an absolute truck load of meat) Craig being over dramatic as usual with the Dole whip but it did taste funky! Maybe the staff member accidentally poured cillit bang in the machine in her alcohol induced state! 😂 Literally they closed teh gate to the cheetahs at about 5:30 as we were heading back there 😔 bit that's fine... we can take a hint! 😅
There are two species of Capybara, but I can't remember which kind Jess and Juna are. The Maras had young still suckling, so couldn't be moved. Bush Dogs were a male and four females, not a breeding group.
