I totally disagree with that. The pain I'm feeling is in the exact same spot when I first got the kidney stones. The only thing that works on this kind of pain is Percocet & I wish could get some more & I hope to someday find a doctor that will prescribe it to me.

I was diagnosed with multiple stones but they can only do 1 at once as each one takes an hour. They said there is a greater chance of a blockage if they do more than one at a time.
you can get sepsis quicker if you have a large stone blocking your urine from exciting 😭 the chance is SO low, definitely a WAY lower risk with this procedure compared to any other procedure to break up the stone
They are doing this procedure on me, this coming up Monday. I have a 6x12mm stone and its really huge. God bless you all with a stone and going through procedures like this one, but I think its easier than the one putting a camera through the penis.
Extracorporal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) can be done but you would need more than one session. I think that if it got that big, you would need the other methods. But it depends on what the stone is made of? If it was uric acid crystals, it will probably dissolve after taking Allupuranol (Gout medication). Please consult with your Doctor and make lifestyle changes after to prevent this from happening again. You will be okay. I was told that using ESWL works best if the stone is less than 10 mm in size. At the hospital I went to in Toronto, Canada, they can only give a maximum of 3000 shockwaves per appointment. The problem with your 15 mm is that it could break into many pieces that cannot pass through the Ureter. Laser lithotripsy with a stent may be the quickest and most reliable way to heal yourself. Just get it over with so that you can go on with your life. Do you know the actually dimensions of your stone? It is 15 mm by ???. A CT Scan will tell if it is a Uric Acid Stone or the more common Calcium Oxalate type. Ask your Doctor. Don't be worried, because you will be okay and there is a good side effect- you will be healed and feel much better. Then find out what you need to do with your diet to make sure it does not happen again.

Would this treatment work for a 1mm calculus in interpolar region of left kidney? Already been through pain of two urethascopies and laser fragmentation
1mm, that's small. With a good lifestyle it may dissolve by itself
Stones are painful & if block is worst . %1of 2nd procedure %1 of painful %1 of bleeding . even at %5 of anything i would risk it , been in pain for 3to4 week anything is better than blocked kidneys .

Its been six weeks now and I still don't have an appointment to have the kidney stone removed. The doctors are milking my insurance. So far I have had 5-6 blood test, CT Scan, Xray, four office visits and now they have confirmed I have a kidney stone. American health care is a joke.
@@michaelcayabyab4982 l
there's no way a urologist would recommend eswl for a stone that large. wasn't ureteroscopy suggested? I had a similar stone size removed 3 months ago. no I'm getting eswl for 2 smaller stones in a few months
I need someone to tell me something... I had this done January 3rd ever since I've been peeing near pure blood it is kinda purple iv been hurting like crazy ever since it is now January 11th is this something to worry about? Please someone tell me something I have no insurance and don't want to go back to the er if I don't need to but I'm starting to worry it hurts worse now than before I went in to have it done my stone was 13×9 mm I called the er and thay say thay can't tell me anything
100% isn't normal and you need to go to the er. Blood in the urine should only last a week at the minimum.
How was it? Does the blood in the urine disappeared already?
Please go and get seen, it should not hurt more it should decrease, you may have bleeding in the kidney
Amazing video

I had lithotripsy 7 years ago for a 5mm & 7mm stones. I passed all the fragments within a few days & it was pain level 10!!!
I still have pain level 5 & went back to the urologist twice & got 2 more MRI's to see if there we're anymore stones but they did not find any. I'm not sure but I've heard that you can get scar tissue on your kidney after lithotripsy. I'm about 100% sure that's what I have but the doctor tried to convince me that it's back pain. I totally disagree with that. The pain I'm feeling is in the exact same spot when I first got the kidney stones. The only thing that works on this kind of pain is Percocet & I wish could get some more & I hope to someday find a doctor that will prescribe it to me.
Really? Can left a scar on the kidney? So This is scary
So you have fallen on 10% people having same problem. Use Decolic tablet in this case as an over the counter which will not require any prescription and try some excercises.

Can this be used to remove gallbladder stones?
I would not think that drs. would use this for gallstones. If you have gallstones, most if not all of the time, your gallbladder will be removed.
Would this work with a kidney full of stones? Or would that be dangerous?
It did for me. I had one lithotripsy and a catheter put in, then a few months later had a second lithotripsy and the catheter removed.
I was diagnosed with multiple stones but they can only do 1 at once as each one takes an hour. They said there is a greater chance of a blockage if they do more than one at a time.
I was horrified at the end. BTW, you can get sepsis!
That's what I thought!
you can get sepsis quicker if you have a large stone blocking your urine from exciting 😭 the chance is SO low, definitely a WAY lower risk with this procedure compared to any other procedure to break up the stone

Will it work properly I mean i dont have to go back to hospital to do it again
Wait-
They are doing this procedure on me, this coming up Monday. I have a 6x12mm stone and its really huge. God bless you all with a stone and going through procedures like this one, but I think its easier than the one putting a camera through the penis.
Hows it? And how did you feel afterwards
Can 15 mm stone break by lithotripsy??
This procedure was a complete waste of time for my case. Should’ve gone straight to ureteroscopy.

50/50 if your overweight this proceedure DOES not work, they will have you coming in several times at of course a cost to you. First time was easy peasy cause it didnt work, no other issues other than went back second time, and this time i came out of anesthesia twice, heard and saw , and my legs hurt so i tried moving them but the nurse was restraining me, and of course the afterwards there is no sight of stone fragment which says it didnt work again. They will have you thinking they know what they are doing, but guess again.
everyone is different. also depends on the size of the stone and where it is in the body. that’s why not everyone is a good candidate for this procedure
