G’day Gormo. An enjoyable and informative tutorial. Love the sound of the critters in the background. Of course, it must be Summer time in Oz at this time of year. Where I live in the UK we are just having endless weeks of rain. Yuk! Looking forward to your next video. Best, Jason.
G`day Jason, Yes the sounds of summer were Cicadas......quite common at this time of year in Sydney. We are pushing towards a hot dry one this year........thank God for aircon. Cheers Gormo
¡Hola buenas tardes Gormo! Great to hear the sounds of Oz again - memories of a few years back now but, never forgotten. Other modellers’ tips should never be treated as ‘boring’. No matter how experienced we might be with scratch building, an extra idea to improve the final result is always welcome - doesn’t mean you have to change your own methods but, at least try the new idea before rejecting it totally. Any guys out there, new to the hobby, please remember many of the more experienced builders would be glad to have a question posed and, would welcome the chance to share their skills. Still keeping us in suspense with the reveal of the goods area Gormo! Can’t wait to get the full tour soon. In the meantime, stay safe and well. Un saludo. Gary.
Ah yes Gary.......the sounds of summer, I feel it`s always best to be receptive to new methods which may help make things easier. As my dear old Dad used to say " Always do it the easy way Son " The Goods Shed will be up next Gary Cheers Gormo
Thanks for that, Gormo, I build my buildings out of card and use your system for roof slates... but your way of cutting doors and windows is new to me so I'll give it a try... I've downloaded the video for reference!
G`day Ken, You will find the method for doors and windows quite effective on thicker card where there is less inclination for the over cut to move. It`s still effective on thin card though, especially where it will become part of multiple layers. Cheers Gormo
First!✌️👍💜😀😀 Nice work Gormo, great tips and advice ✌️👍💜 My preferred knife is a 47 year old Stanley Knife (SK) that I was bought as a child for card modelling (yes I was trusted with such after Id proven I could be trusted). I do use scalpels, but my red handled SK is my go to. Ive also moved away, a few years ago, from using a steel rule to a safety rule, it protects the fingers if the knife slips✌️👍💜😊 Isn't the fella at Scalescenes, a countryman of yours🤔🤔👍✌️💜 BTW is all the noise in the background wildlife? 🤔🤔 It hurt my ears through these little speakers 😲😳😀😲✌️💜
G`day Muso, I might have to track down a safety rule.....good idea.....as I cut myself badly a few years back and that event sits in the back of mind whenever I`m using the blade these days John Wiffen ( Scalescenes ) is an Aussie from Brisbane I think ? The wildlife in the background are Cicadas.....quite common in Sydney at this time of the year.......sorry it hurt your ears Cheers Gormo
Plee to any other Brits watching: Do you know where I can get those marker pens from? I used to get mine from "The Range" but they stopped stocking them about 5 years ago.
Just in a newly opened "The Works" now. They have loads of different sized pots of them. Probably be able to get then on their online shop too. Edit: Crawford and Black is the make.
Gormo, you are too hard on yourself. You NEVER bore us with your insights, it's why we are all here ;o)
OK Peter,
