thumbs up if you had to pause fold pause fold
So I had to stop quite often to come along at all.
Masterful instruction. Your demonstration accompanied by excellent dialogue is the best I've seen in the subject. Thank you.
+Dan Van Antwerp You are welcome. I'm glad you find it clear. Thank you for writing.
Dont criticize her on her accent it's a great tutorial thumbs up if u agree
She's great. I love her tutorials.
@@SHabbIZZLEx ...as well as her accent! It is very understandable for non-native English speakers, and it is soothing. The tutorial is awesome anyway.
I never ever thought that I could fold something like this beautiful. Thank you so much!
Thank you! This tutorial was so much easier to follow than the original. My butterfly turned out beautifully! Great tutorial.
Casey Shaw Hi Casey, I'm glad you folded it successfully!
A lot more beautiful than the traditional model!
Thanks Leyla for the great tutorial !
Valérie Van Mol rower
Hi Lucie, I'm glad you were able to follow this video. The language of the hands is universal!
Leyla Torres a
I'm incapable to do this, even though i've tried several times. I really wanted get it right. When I have to fold the wings I mess up every single time, I have no idea how you do it even when i'm looking at the video without blinking. The only one I can do is tsuru, hehe. I'm just gonna be happy about the one I can do :)
Good attitude Danielle. Congratulations for trying. Watch it at least once without trying to fold. Just relax and observe. Perhaps in another try it will turn out well.
Sometimes we need to grow our skills before we are able to make certain origami figures. You might want to try your hand at folding some of the models featured on this page: www.origamispirit.com/videos/origami-for-beginners/
Making the square after the first two diagonal folds makes this much easier. just fold the top corner of the smaller square of paper. I have never seen anyone attempt this with the base being made that late in the folding. Try that and everything will likely fall into place better
I saved this tutorial in a dedicated playlist almost a decade ago, and still find it awesome; plus, the model might the best visuals / difficulty I have ever seen in origami; accessible to beginners and looking like intermediate-level origami
I like your accent, and I understand you just fine. Excellent video, I am having a lot of fun!
Thank you for the video! I always wanted to know how to fold this kind of butterfly.
I love your videos, Ms. Torres. You patiently explain every step. Thank you!
You are welcome Vedha!
I do not speak English, but found it very beautiful and able to do their work first .... Congratulations
I am Brazilian and I admired his work very
Lindo demais!!!
Thanks for this. I used some of your paper coloring techniques and made a beautiful red, pink, and purple butterfly. It is going into a box with 2 dozen other origami models and being sent to my son, his wife and my grandchild. She said she is going to make a mobile for over the baby's crib. Woohoo!
beav1962 Congratulations. If you post a photo, please share with us a link.
I love your roles pick I one to do dat

+Leyla Torres (OrigamiSpirit Videos) Absolutely fabulous! ^_^ I was scared I would not be able to do the rabbit ear ear-fold but managed it, thanks so much!
eses horrible
Thankyou so much for this tutorial! Your pace and instructions were extremely helpful! I only juuuust started doing origami tonight and I'm feeling pretty impressed with myself right about now. I don't think I would have gotten such a great result if it wasn't you doing this tutorial :)
Congratulations to you. This is not a model for a beginner and you made it!
Leyla Torres make it in english
It is?
sry i meant video instructions
This second version helped me complete the butterfly. Thank you. I like your videos very much.
+Annelie Wilde You are very welcome. I'm glad you found the second version!
@Diedra S Congratulations! I'm very happy that you were able to complete your origami butterfly with this updated video.
Thanks!
This updated version really helped - I got the folds down to memory after watching the video twice so all credit goes to your tutorial :)
Making it for my wife for our paper anniversary. Best looking butterfly I found thanks!
+dave bates Guess what I made for my wife on our anniversary? I made her make me a sandwhich. Youre a pathetic man
@ Annie K The wooden stick used for origami is a Bamboo Folder. It's available for sale on OrigamiSpirit [dot] com, my website.
I did it and I think it was very easy! I thought it was going to be more difficult. Thank you sooo much! Your explanations are very good. Keep the good work!
Kikks kobayoshi!
thank you very much for this dearest Leyla! I've made the butterfly a couple of times and it has made me very happy. It looks especially beautiful using colourful but otherwise useless junk mail flyers.
+Michal Vincze I'm glad you like it Michal. Great use of recycled paper!
One of the best instructions to any Origami piece I've ever found on YT! I thought it would be a lot harder but your instructions were easy to follow and the result was to the liking of the person who got it from me (and also to mine :D ). Thank you!
Beautiful job. Had I not seen this paper transformed into a mariposa before my eyes, I would not believe it could be done.
Leyla, that's great! I made two butterflies. One for me and one for my girlfriend, also made a rose to celebrate two years together. I think it's good example that money completely not related with feelings. I spent 0 euros to have wonderful gift for her.
Congratulations Laimis. We can give meaning to the simplest things and make them special! Thank you for sharing.
Congratulations on your success folding the butterfly!
The wooden tool used in this tutorial is the bamboo folding tool. Available in OrigamiSpirit [dot] com
I have been trying to make this butterfly for soo long and yours is the only video that has been so clear about the instructions! Thank you!
That was a terrific tutorial...very very clear and slow enough that I didn’t have to adjust the speed to get the steps done. I want to make a bunch of these to fly over my bulletin board at school! Wonderful. As a geometry teacher I really appreciated you mentioning that you must “bisect” the angles!
Love it! Almost got it the perfect the first try with some random scrap paper! Now to do it with origami paper! Thank you! I've had a frustrating day trying projects that were too hard for me! Subtitles were in English for me despite what the descriptions says.
If you don't understand my accent, all you have to do is mute this video and follow my hands.
Gracias, me alegra mucho tu nota!
Although I do not understand the language, but the tutorial was so careful and clear, it is better than any others I have seen. Thank you,
Totally enjoyed making it! I am so glad the steps are easy to follow.
Besos !!
For this origami butterfly, the step at minute 10:47 is repeated again with the other wing at minute 12:00. If this section is a challenge for you, watch it a few times before you attempt to fold. All is there Don't give up!
im from malaysia n i understand your english very well n clear...no problem. n i love ur tutorial n i made the butterfly its beautiful. thnks for the tutorial.
... Gracias Leyla. Este será un excelente regalo. Saludos desde su patria hermana: México.
Awesome tutorial! Very clear and easier than I thought it was going to be. Just made 3!
Lisa MacCormack Great Lisa, Congratulations!
Gracias Leyla...........from Catalunya (Europa).
Great instructional. I had some trouble refolding the rabbit ear fold. Bringing the wing parts together was fine, and folding the triangle down (both layers of the paper) was fine too. However, when you refold the rabbit ear, I didn't realize that one angle is folded back (seen around 11:10). Once i figured out where the triangle fit down, the rest was straight forward. Thanks!
one of the best videos of origami folding I have seen. Very easy to follow!!!! thank you so much madam!
+amjadkariapper87 You are welcome!
So much clearer than the first! I could follow it completely this time
So much easier than the previous video! Loved it! Thanks a lot Leyla
What a great teacher this woman is!
It's totally beautiful!! I couldn't belive that I was able to do it.You are a very good teacher! Thank You! ^^
Que hermoso y dulce trabajo , felicitaciones !
i was really amazed about the designs, but it pissed me off while trying and trying.😫 i need more design in my job today with easy procedure😂
Thank you it helps me a lot.
loveya💕💝
The paper used in the video is called "Kami" which is a thin paper from Japan. The paper used for the butterfly in the photo is colored "onion skin" paper.
This was much easier to follow than your first video. Thank you!
These'll make great locker decorations! Going to get proper origami paper next weekend! 😄
Excellent video, excellent and clear instruction. Thanks, I now have some beautiful butterflies!
this is a really good tutorial i was really happy on how mine turned out
I'm glad you are happy! If you are happy I'm happy too!
Precioso Leyla! Gracias por el video!
Saludos de Brazil!!
The wings of my butterfly ended up so much more enclosed, narrower, they did not want to spread out 'flat' like yours did. But I think I did everything right... In any case, it still turned out pretty. I love your videos, you explain everything so clearly!
This is beautiful!
Thanks Leyla!

You are welcome Cynthia :-)
This is beautiful! Thank you for making these videos, they're so helpful!
Great design...Leyla. beautiful butterfly. But on one note, as u may be aware, there are different types of origami paper, some thicker and others thinner. The floral ones ate usually thinner. Initially I tried using the floral ones AND I cudn't see the lines u were referring to..... urghhhhh.... but eventually I got it! But not am easy project, tiz butterfly!!!! Thk u for posting!
Its really nice. Thanks for teaching..
Felicidades!
Excelente trabajo. Muy linda la mariposa. Saludos.
Gracias Klaudio! Saludo para ti también :-)
