"Some kid did these graphics at home" There's no "graphics" in this movie except the X-ray scanner at the spaceport. All the FX are practical: miniatures, matte paintings, animatronics, etc.
You guys do realize there have been programs like Black Mirror since television pretty much started? Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Tales From the Crypt etc.
"Cyberpunk" is the name of this sci-fi genre that Black Mirror, Inception and the Cyberpunk 2077 game all belong too. Other classics include Alien, Blade Runner, Tron, Robocop, Akira, Ghost in The Shell (1995), Strange Days, Johnny Mnemonic, The Matrix, Existenz, The Thirteenth Floor, Impostor (2001), Minority Report, Paprika, Gamer, Dredd, Alita
The author who wrote the original short story for Total Recall also wrote the book that Blade Runner is based on, so part of me likes to think that they take place in the same universe.
You guys are much more entertaining and interesting when you're just discussing the film and not doing all jokes..jokes...jokes thing. I'd recommend 1998s "Dark City", an underrated sci-fi classic.
You think you recognize the name Sharon Stone? How does anyone think they recognize the name Sharon Stone? It's Sharon Stone!!! 9:48 Yes, very much so. It's basically Inception before Inception...screwing with the concept of reality and perception of reality. I can't decide if this is Arnie's worst good movie, or his best bad movie.
@@wfly81 yeah, definitely Arnie’s most philosophical film which would turn heads haha, but it was definitely not a typical Arnie film of the time period and it still generates heaps of debate on reality, memory and dreams!
And she was promised by Verhoeven that if she would do the scene, he'd make sure nothing would be seen. When she finally saw the movie and realized he lied to her, she slapped him across the face.
Great reaction, at last I have found a reaction channel where the hosts actually have good quips. Thank you! Regarding the Philip K. Dick short story its based on - it is a bit different but kind of goofy and fun too in its paranoid way, and if you're into Black Mirror you should totally read his stuff. Extra Arnie movies? I think I heard you mention a line from it but have you actually seen Commando? It's ridiculous and terrible but completely awesome at the same time, with the most preposterous baddie ever. It also has Arnie's greatest line which is at the start of the movie at the breakfast table. If you watch it keep a look out for the same extra with the big moustache who repeatedly dies in every other scene. What I really think you need to do is go on a Verhovathon. I can also strongly recommend Running Man which is great fun and is another 'hey it's the near-future' type film. The only Arnie movie I've ever seen where a bad guy gets a comeback to an Arnie one-liner. Robocop. Starship Troopers. They make the perfect trilogy of magnificent 80s / 90s action trash with Total Recall. Regarding the Total Recall bad guy, actor Michael Ironside apparently he tried auditioning for lots of fatherly roles but was always stumped because he couldn't work out how to smile in a way that wasn't completely terrifying. And thus an excellent bad guy was born. Ahh, Total Recall, what great fun you are. I love inventive practical special effects and this movie has a boat-load of them. Packed full of great character actors too really hamming it up in an enjoyable way, which is something else you don't get much in modern action movies. It's like nowadays everybody has to be everyman, sullen and dour. At least the bad guys in Total Recall are looking forward to going to a big party after, rather than just standing about grimacing. #lifegoals #wheresmearmsat? Ironically nobody remembers the Total Recall remake.
Yo thanks for taking the time to write this long comment on our channel, we hope you subscribe so we can give you more content. Robocop. Starship Troopers is added to the list

You guys are funny and you should continue doing more Arnold Schwarzenegger movies

Total Recall isn't cyberpunk. It's psy-fi.

The TJ comments were funny. This was all filmed in Mexico City. Fun fact, I tripped over the short blonde chick at Planet Hollywood.
MMM... YOUNG SHARON STONE. YUP.
Had to be a dream!!!
How could a lowly construction worker be married to a woman who looks like Sharon Stone in her prime?? 😃
"There's mexicans in the future..." LOL. The movie was filmed in Mexico.
MI Familia ! didnt know thats great to hear tbh
@@domorethings2115 En los estudios Churubusco se filmó y en el metro de mexico.
This guy has Ted Mosby vibes.😂
O shit,I just looked him up and your dead on lol

It’s also The Matrix before The Matrix, so much so it even has a scene involving a red pill!!
@@andrewburgemeister6684 Oh yeah, definitely. The whole idea of reality verses some alternate reality, questioning reality, etc.
@@wfly81 yeah, definitely Arnie’s most philosophical film which would turn heads haha, but it was definitely not a typical Arnie film of the time period and it still generates heaps of debate on reality, memory and dreams!
0:53 Sharon Stone is unfortunately remembered most for the infamous leg cross in "Basic Instinct" (1992).
And she was promised by Verhoeven that if she would do the scene, he'd make sure nothing would be seen. When she finally saw the movie and realized he lied to her, she slapped him across the face.
Love the ways you guys said penta as in pentakill from league of legends and ultra ultra from killer instinct!
In the end, everything the trip salesman promised came true. None of it was real.
Looks like he used some of that Ben Stiller "There's Something about Mary" hair gel.
They actually made this movie in Mexico City lol

Black mirror sucks lol this is gold
I LMAO every time some kid criticizes 80s special effects. Present day CGI is the shittiest thing I've ever seen. Seriously.
2084 😎👍
A good bad joke
