@@umbrellamuffin nothing new in particular, but I’ve been implementing a lot of smaller optimizations to a lot of fights that are slightly more risky than my old strategies, but are necessary now to save as much time as possible. The last “new” strategy I’ve been doing is Beppi glitch. I used to avoid doing it because it’s very difficult to pull off on Expert, but I put a few hours into practicing it and learning all of Beppi’s 1st phase cart patterns (there are 11 different patterns on Expert) so now I can reliably hit it every time if I identify the pattern correctly and don’t mess up.
@@silashannemann4664 it has more to do with my own hitbox, not the spike hitbox. When you dash you have the same vertical hitbox as you do when you’re ducking even though it doesn’t look like that visually. So you can always dash under that parryable because it doesn’t go low enough to hit you if you’re ducking.
That would be very hard to achieve without new tricks. I don't wanna say impossible but seriously probably impossible with today's optimizations. Idk because I'm not a speedrunner of this game
@@bloomed_3880 I sure do! It’s a USB SNES-style controller made by a company that no longer exists called iBuffalo. It has the best dpad out of any controller I’ve ever used and has an appropriate number of buttons to play Cuphead so it’s my go to for this game. Unfortunately, you can’t buy them new anymore since the company no longer exists, but sometimes you can get lucky and find people selling them used in good condition.
