This show has the ability to make me forget that I am watching a show and feel that I am there with the Barones. Not with actors, not on a stage, but with a real family in their home. It's the only show that has ever done that and I am old and watched plenty of good shows.
And you really could believe they were really Marie's much adored sons. Even poor old Robert. The times when she spoke about not wanting him to be a cop. She portrayed it *exactly* how a loving mother would be.
I loved this show. I'm re watching it on Netflix. Up to the middle of season 8. It made me laugh so hard. I would love to see a real Everybody Loves Raymond reunion movie but sadly we lost one of the greatest actors RIP Peter Boyle this "Holy Crap!" is for you. I was surprised to learn that one of the twins committed suicide at the young age of 20 and that the kids were all related as brother and sister in real life. I was cracking up when I heard Patricia was selected to play Debra because of all the people auditioning for the role, she made the role more believable by actually kissing Ray on the lips.
When My Son was taking Life too seriously I introduced Him to Everybody loves Raymond ,He bought all the DVD,s for Me ,I have watched it over and over again and never tire of it .
