About my experience on the bombing incident at Philippine Plaza last 1980...
I didn't say that it's the government who planted the bomb. I clearly stated that anti-gov't forces did it. (In fact, the group personally apologized to me).

Hi Sir Nonoy. I am a big fan of yours. I used to sing your songs specially Never Ever Say Goodbye. During the 80s all good singers helped curve the golden age of OPM. wala kang tulak kabigin sa mga singers noon be it male and female opm singers from the likes of Basil to you to Raymond Lauchengco and all the way to Ogie, Janno, Ariel and the rest etc. I believed to be on the top pinaghihirapan nyo yan unlike these times na 1 week lang naka platinum na agad ang song.

After I heard his testimony, (only now that I know what had happened to him), I have all the more reverence for Nonoy Zuñiga because instead of pitying himself and giving up, he went on to inspire a lot of aspiring musicians and became the legendary performer that he had eventually become.

Thanks for having Nonoy in your blog. He's my favorite male Filipino singer of all time. I love listening to his songs, "In His Time, "Never Ever Say Goodbye," "Doon Lang,""Kumusta Ka," at marami pang iba. Napakapleasant ng kanyang boses, uplifting at perfect ang kanyang diction/pronunciation.

Tama si sir Nonoy yung mga singer ngayon hindi pa hasang hasa pinagko-concert na. Saka noon talaga halos lahat ng show sa tv nagpo promote mga singer o artista. Masaya noon 😊

Lagi ko nasasalubong si Doc Nonoy sa may bandang likuran ng UST College of Commerce. Malapit sa Medicine Building yung building namin e doon siya lagi nagpa-park. Sa araw nung accident na nasabugan siya, nagkasalubong pa kami sa daan malapit sa YMCA. Pagdating ko sa bahay, nakita ko na parang nahimasmasan nanay ko. Yun pala mga halos isang oras mula nang umalis ako ng YMCA ay nabalita na nagkaroon ng pagsabog ng bomba. Alam ng nanay na dadaan ako doon sa lugar din na pinagsabugan at narinig ko sa radio na si Doc Nonoy ay naging biktima. I prayed na walang masamang nangyari sa kanya. Mabait na tao at palabati si Doc Nonoy. Last kaming nagkita sa may Cardinal Santos. Kumakain siya sa cafeteria ng Cardinal ng late 80s. Natanaw niya ako at binati ako. Sabi niya, "Huy! Schoolmate! Nandito ka pala!". Nagulat ako na akala ko iba yung tinawag niya. Yun pala ako yung tinatawag niya. Nagulat din yung kasama ko na sabi sa akin na kilala pala ako ni Doc Nonoy. Sabi ko hindi niya ako kilala pero madalas kami magkasalubong sa UST at nagbabatian kami kahit never niya nalaman ang pangalan ko.

I remember Mr. Nonoy Zuniga back in the early 80s when he was still a Medical student while I was ion the College of Commerce. There would be concerts in the Auditorium and once I served as an usherette in one of the concerts of Martin Nievera where he was one of the guests.
Yes! me too,. I usually watched concerts in the Auditorium of Medical building. He was always one of the guests..

When I was starting singing contest it was 1994 to 2001 I always sing the nonoy zuniga masterpiece NEVER EVER SAY GOODBYE also my masterpiece, I have 160 trophy that time..

Nakasama ko sa judging si Nonoy sa STUDENTS POP of Boots Albarracin way back 1983 sa UP. Our company Boots Phils Inc makers of Strepsils was one of the sponsors. Nonoy, Zuniga , despite his popularity was very friendly. He chatted with me as of we were old friends. No air at all.
