IDEA: When a level is copied/assets are stolen and added in the level should be given a special warning notice before sending/rating it, encouraging mods to check for stolen assets before sending.

The sad thing about Starry Nights is that it also just has bad gameplay, horrible transitions, and mid decoration that barely deserved a feature in the first place. So the fact that it stole assets makes me wonder if the creator spent more than an hour making the level or not.

i wanted to make it optimized so yeah it's just a particule trigger lol and some scale triggers that took a while to create a good amount to give the illusion of a spinning TV, which now i'm testing things with the floor and walls with gradient triggers and area move to make a good looking 3D.

Robtop needs to bring back the password to levels or bring back the option that disable the copy button because there's a lot of stolen levels that might be rated and this is unacceptable to do such a thing. If this is planned, RobTop needs to be as fast as possible to bring back those features into the game. There might be another solution to this problem, the moderation team can verify if those levels are potentially stolen.
Stealing someone's level is a very bad way to get a rate because you can be hatred for copying someone's level without their permission, giving credits or stoling his level and getting a star rate while the player would took like a week building his level just to be stolen by a random kid who got a star rate because of this, you can even being banned like that.
Allow Copy options didn't make any difference as level theft was still an issue in 2.1. Bringing it back would just be a waste of time

To be fair we dont have an infinite amount of designs and its really hard to come up with original ones so this was bound to happen eventually
I think its crazy that now anyone can copy any level. I think that change needs to be reverted. I also think that if the creator wants their level to be copyable, bring back the password feature, or maybe make it so that only friends can copy the level.
True but most people will still use copy hack. I wish this hack was never made

This has been happening long before 2.2 released, levels being copyable by default has nothing to do with it

with the way geometry dash works, making levels "impossible to steal" is just impossible
but there could be more regulation regarding those levels, maybe a way for mods/elder mods to report stolen levels if they find out? and maybe a form for players to fill out on boomlings or something if they find out their level was stolen
As a creator, I would hate it if anything I made got stolen and then rated, some people are just too lazy to even try to create so they ruin other peoples chances

Once I was at the last part of Snowy Mountain (1200 seconds in playing) and I pressed THE PRACTICE BUTTON.
Also another case of this was Endless Skies by (me) remember creators if you are planning to make a remake or inspired level always credit the creator, I made the mistake of forgetting this. it's always important to be original even when others aren't. Stay Strong Creators! ❤

15 stolen levels got rated while my original early 2.2 platformer level hasn’t gotten rated with 19 sends.

My idea: if you grab something from a copied level and save it as a custom object, it would save a piece of information with the object saying "Copied from level ... by ...". This could be added as a tag on the level page once it gets uploaded on the server.
From what I have heard, it is difficult for RobTop to catch stolen assets or levels when he is rating them, since there are millions of levels that have all been uploaded over many years. Ive seen stolen rated levels that were copies of levels from many years ago. Of course it is impossible to memorize every level that is ever sent/rated, and it does mean that sometimes a stolen level slips by, and ends up rated. Usually, once Rob is made aware, that level is unrated.
As for ways to stop or reduce level theft, thats hard. Obviously bringing back the ability to not make your level copyable would work. (As a creator, I still dont get why that was removed.) However, putting other measures in place can also be a very delicate balance. Trying to not make uploading more difficult for creators, and trying not to create rare scenarios where the original creator is punished rather then the copier (highly improbable, but could happen) is extremely difficult.
If a level is stolen, for now the best thing to always do is to just let a Mod know so the word can get to RobTop, and support the original creator instead, since they deserve the downloads and likes. Dont go after the creator that stole the level either, let Mods or RobTop deal with them.

There was also a level called Fisher Darkness, that was copied and featured. It's deleted by the creator now, but for some reason I still see it at the second-to-last page of featured.

why is every solution people are giving to stop stolen assets really bad. half of people are saying to bring back allow copy but megahack already allowed you to copy any level you wanted and allowing copying on all levels is good because you can see how creators make block design and learn from them. and the other half are talking about levels with the copy mark which is very easy to bypass and making some algorithm to tell if assets are stolen also would be very difficult to make and would have a lot of false positives and false negatives.
Because GD players don't put any real thought into what they say half the time
I think the amount of stolen levels went up in 2.2 because RobTop made it so that you can't set a password to copy or disable copy on your levels. So now people without hacks can also steal things. :/

I do actually have some opinions on this, so get ready for a long essay:
Creators probably realized that all levels that get uploaded can be copied (you can't set a password). I didn't think about that until I saw this video. The ''uploaded levels being free to copy'' is just a stupid idea now, because, more stolen assets/levels, if it ain't ovious. In my opinion, RobTop should just add back the password feature when copying a level (and the feature that makes the level uncopyable).
As I said, more assets are getting stolen, like this level as shown in the video. Not just that, but other levels. They add stolen assets to the level (or stealing a level), they upload it, the mods see it, send it to RobTop, and the worst part of all, RATE. Now not all stolen levels repeat this process, but it just happens. I understand if some creators are just lazy to make their own deco. It's hard and complicated (unless you're people like Vit12 or JonathanGD). So if you're struggling to make your own deco, maybe find some tips and tricks, or watch a tutorial, to get inspiration. That is what new creators should do in my opinion.
Sometimes, levels with stolen assets get rated, unrated (if it isn't ovious) the stolen assets gets removed by the creator, and then it never gets rated ever again. One of them is Natural Disaster by GammaReXx (if anyone even remembers this level). The creator stole some lightning assets from popular creator CuluC, used in Areal Gleam by EndLevel. Long story short, CuluC made a video on this, and told us what got stolen from him. He did say that the level should still be rated because the other deco, the block design for example, was made by the creator himself. But RobTop (as he is) unrated it. I think that Natural Disaster should be rated again because there are no more stolen assets. It is meant to be placed in Pointercrate's main list after all.
Those are my opinions about this. In conclusion, people should not steal levels/assets, and instead, make their own (unless if they are lazy). If ya made it this far, what do you think about my opinions? You don't have to agree with me, im fine with that (unless if it's hate, then im not). Keep in mind that these opinions are not meant to hate on those people that stole the assets. It's just my opinions. Please understand.

1:44 this level isnt just "going up." This level is a medium demon because it uses a piece of movement tech called "slope boosting". This tech is decently precise and having to repeat it over and over again makes the level significantly harder than it looks.
