Take a band who no matter how many times you've seen them (and I've seen BNL a lot) they're always fun, then put them in one of the coolest venues to be found just about anywhere, and what do you get? A great night out. This was gonna be my only visit to the Big Blue Tent this year, sadly, but what a night it was (good tunes from openers With Violet and Tokyo Police Club too). Sorry for all those who missed out on this night (including local Perennial Visiting-Band Host Alan Doyle, who did at least get to take the BNL dudes to lunch at Chafe's and to Cape Spear on an uncharacteristically gorgeous June day in NL), but anyone else who can get to some or all of this series of shows (gigs through June 29, info here icebergalleyconcerts.com/) really should if they can.
