as someone who just graduated from 3D Animation course in university, I understand everything and nothing at the same time. Still such an interesting workflow regardless. Always love seeing your avatar. They are so dynamic and interesting to look at. Awesome work Bird
The camera following, avatar animation, and everything, just makes me feel part of the world right next to em. Makes focusing easier. I'm so interested in resonite now.
Just started Resonite. Took only under an hour to get my custom avatar into the game what took over a week to get into VRChat and even then VRChat broke it bad. There's no major problems with my avatar in Resonite. The game is less polished than VRCHAT (Resonite is in early access) but it is so much more fun and makes even a guy like me who had no desire to learn to code want to learn now. This place is amazing potential and I hope it only gets better
i giggled at the node programming comment but its so true!! people make it seem like its rlly hell on earth but im both an animation and compsci major so its really the best of both worlds if you master both :) (unity however….. thats an ass kicker for me LOL)
i will say tho i hope resonite’s ui does get a bit cleaner(?) its very compact. i want to try it in the near future but i fear i’ll end up super unorganized quick
Heya, just wanted to say you uploaded exactly what I was looking for for a first look into resonite. It‘s also very cozy watching you do stuff and talk a bit about it. I‘m in! :)
Cool vid and also I did not know you had a channel, so I subscribed. Also as a person that focuses mainly on flux, I can appreciate and understand that components can make things simpler. But also I can help you on the flux side of things if you need that. :3 Otherwise, keep making cool things and I look forward to watching more of your stuff.
The Vulfen is adorable, I just got mine yesterday. Thanks for the info, I still haven't actually tried Resonite yet but I plan to at some point. I've got almost 2k hours in VRChat and I've gone from Hobkin to Redux and now plan to modify the Vulfen. I think I was the first to make a public 5 finger Hobkin, because I got Index controllers. I'll keep educating myself on Resonite, Cheers. 👊
Hey! This is a really well made and edited video, on top of being oddly relaxing in way. Despite being in Reso for a while, I completely forgot that MaterialSet was even a thing which honestly woulda made a lot of other things REALLY simple. Though I think for the multiplex audio part a AssetMultiplexer component under Assets -> Utility would've also worked! Audioclips can be accepted into that component, however using either method is valid and doesn't matter at the end of the day. (Also hope I'm not overstepping or seems like I'm correcting at all, ya taught me something new and I'd like to show something that could help you!) Your presentation style with this is really enjoyable too! Thank ya for making a video demonstrating a possible Resonite workflow for something like this, strangely enough you don't see it often in video form besides tutorials.
i found the assetmultiplexer component the other day... I definitely would've used that instead of flux if i knew it existed lol but in the end, different approaches to the same end goal so we both learned something haha
This is it, this vibe/format is great! this got me to try Resonite. I'm learning it.... slowly, but I'm new to node programming, and rookie at coding. It would be awesome to see this as a series of you taking on a project and talking through it. Edit: Also.... whats the world you are doing this in?
i just...looking at this makes me so confused cause i really wanna create avatar stuff but i suck with blender and my only strong suit is 2d stuff (literally about to start working on a animation rn lmao) so it's like "i wanna make clothes and cool magic stuff for my avatar but i don't wanna attempt to create stuff on blender again. but i was also told that you can't make avatar clothes in resonite either...mmmmmmmmmmmm >:("
do you make your own models?? or do you get them from somewhere? cause they're sooooo freaking CUTE!!! also i love the idea that you can just grab your goggles and pull them down and make them do funny stuff, i gotta checkout this game asap 💗💗
Since the static is probably pretty much inherently seamless you can probably increase the mileage of that single 4 "frames" texture hugely by adding some random rotation; like maybe multiply the current time by a high value and round it, and apply it as a rotation in radians or something like that (radians instead of degrees because it loops around multiples of Tau (2x Pi) which wil never land on a round value). Though I guess updating it directly might not be look you're going for, so perhaps there is some node that lets you sample the pseudo-random rotation at the same pace as the current animation runs? Actually, now I'm thinking about it; if just that simple math doesn't make it look random enough; multiply what you get by the Golden Ratio, then modulus 1, and times Tau, instead of just going straight to the radians input from the start; that should make a very good random distribution.
Thanks. I am a complete noob to this. Maybe a stupid question but if looking to optimise then could you have just one set of animators nodes driving the hotdog and static images?
I love seeing videos like this, I always learn something new! Can you believe I had no idea you could "cut" wires? I see you have a search bar in the component browser, is that a mod? Where could I get it? Would help me out a ton.
As someone who's confined to a desktop, I'd love a version/mode of Resonite that's similar to like, Unreal or Godot, where I can create content in a semi-familiar workspace and not have to deal with weird extra shit because I'm trying to play a game meant for VR on the desktop since I can't afford a VR headset at the moment
So how are you typing so quickly in-game? Are you at your desk, do you have a mini keyboard, typing on a floating one, or just making jumpcuts every time you type.
can I write resonite code in C# instead of using protoflux? visual programming is literally the worst for organizing stuff so I'd rather write code instead. edit: ok ignore this question, I just found that you can write Plugins in C# instead of using flux. nice! edit2: ok never mind, the plugins are not a useful alternative to flux. :(
if your good at C# u could write a mod for resonite to take C# code and assign it to its respective code element(/s) in flux and attach itself to RedPrint for easy flow management. And remember there is components u can use that IS flux since flux is just a in-world item with that component
@@generallyunimportant I learned this from a different video where they only mention the custom engine. Then i watch this video where they only mention unity.
I'm very interested on how the workflow will be like with Apple's eyes and hands tracker. But, doesn't have to be that headset, apparently, the quest 3 has the hardware for eye tracking, but it's disabled temporarily, presumably till they get it right.
Manipulating with just your eyes and using your hands to grab and maybe gestures for certain things, like the pinch in apple's headset used as a click, click and hold, etc.
Everytime I see Resonite Gameplay I can't believe how pretty it looks--
i cant get over how darn cute ur avatars are and the eye tracking makes them 100 times cuter x3
"i always get lost in the burds eyes" x3

Those node jumpscares were terrifying but the last one nearly hospitalized me
i always loved node programming, now I NEED a vr setup, this is amazing.
Update, already bought a quest 2 from a friend.
I've been learning for the last two days
"these goggles i made kinda fast, and not good"
i just screamed at the screen
tf you mean NOT GOOD???
I'm sorry, but I kept being distracted by how fucking adorable your avatars are. Great job!

Wtf. Working while in vr like this is blowing my mind 😎 all I know about is vrchat so this is super interesting. awesome video. Subscribed for sure.
It's a really cool social VR sandbox platform. It has the social amenities of VRC with in world editing and building in VR or desktop mode.
Just started Resonite and even if you don't know shit about this technical stuff it's so much more fun than VRCHAT
You're really helping me get into Resonite! Love your vids
when you said "hi I'm bird" my mind immediately shouted "BIRD UP!"
I wanted to say I love your video presentation and how expressive the avatars are! Keep it up ❤ I'd love to see more videos like this.

As a programmer, YOU ARE A PROGRAMMER MAN
me not understanding anything he is talking about "hmm yes i see"
those eyes add so much life to models, damn. Awesome stuff!

Weezer jumpscare (loved the video !❤)
Love your avatar! It's so appealing to look at!
Holy crap, this is what I envisioned VR like, lot of hacking and code. I need to learn how to do this!
Happy to see another bird video ❤️
dude you are soo cool and funny thanks for the video! very educational too!!!
ending made me sub. good on you

protoflux only scares new users away
wtf how did I never hear of this Software? I love nodes! I hate the lack of monitors! THis is so cool!!

The low-key shots at node-based coding antis lmao😂

it's meant for both desktop and VR, desktop has unique controls for selecting tool tips and focusing on objects like UIX canvases ^ ^
i recommend using RedPrint
all of that.. ALL OF THAT TO BE WEEZERD!?!?
Is there a video explaining how you made the goggles "Hinge" the way they do?
no, though i could make one!

"Unity default skubox" I thought resonite had its own custom engine.
it does use a custom engine, but unity is used as a frontend
