It's "La dolce vita" guys. I just noticed my mistake now. Well actually there are a lot of mistakes! 🙈 I’ll be more careful next time. 😅 Anyway, hope you like this video! Don't forget to subscribe! 😊
Soph, I absolutely loved watching this. You really put Italian life into perspective. People ask me all the time why I moved here and you explained it perfectly. It makes me emotional lol. Love you! And I’m so proud of you!!
Awww thank you so much Kristin! Hahaha yes, it’s emotional because I know you can relate to it. You know the struggles! Italy is a beautiful disaster! 😅💕 But I know it’s all going to be worth it in the end. Thank you so much for always supporting me. Can’t wait to see you again. Love you! 😘
I’ve been wanting to visit Florence for a while and I’m deciding to just move there instead. Some ppl are against it and idk why. I moved to Dallas Texas knowing no one and been here for 2 years life been okay but can be better. The way I see it nothing is keeping me here except some guy but I’m noticing I’m only staying to be heartbroken and disappointed. This video has given me insight on taking that chance. Who knows I may just find my soulmate out there 🤞🏼 and I’ll feel like I don’t have to chase after something
Very nice and inspiring video. I found you on UA-cam while checking out apartments in Lucca. I really admire you for living la dolce vita at such a young age and on your own. It touched me in a way I can’t explain when you said you finally found a place where you belong. Perhaps because I also love Florence and all of Tuscany and the whole country. Wishing you all good things, Sophia! (From a fellow Filipina 😊)
Thank you to everyone who commented and messaged me to wish that I will obtain another permesso di soggiorno. Last month I just received the best news... I finally got a new permesso! 🙏 On the next few weeks, I'll be posting more of my life here in Florence and share the beauty of Italy. So stay tuned! 😊 Thank you all for your support! ☺😊☺
Hi Sophia!! I really loved your video. I too will be moving to Florence in 2022, and will stay permanently. Your insight about living in the city as a foreigner was enlightening. I have a better idea of what to expect. Maybe when I’m there, I’ll come say hi! Hugs from USA 🇺🇸❤️🇵🇭❤️🇮🇹
Awww thank you so much! I am glad that you find this video enlightening. Yes of course, I would love that! Let me know if you’ll be in Florence. Take care! ☺️✨
We have the same name! 😍 Thank you so much, Sophia! It’s amazing that there are a lot of us, people who transfers to a new place, feels the same way. It’s definitely a challenge facing these problems alone but it will be all worth it in the end! ☺️💕

Hello Sophia You covered some great points....but I have many questions. Are you still there in Florence Italy? If I wanted to visit there for 3 months..would I be able to rent a room from someone and how much would it cost?????
I just discovered your channel and really enjoyed the video. I love all things Italian and look forward to watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your story.
Well done Sophia , I am so proud mom , in every step and dream that you have , I will always be there for you, we love you and miss you so much . Stay safe .and God bless ..
Got recommended your Chanel . I am wondering how you find your place ? I am moving in spring to Florence ( Art back grounds swell) . Looking some websites for rental but they are more for tourist $$$. I need for a few months but it’s hard to find anything in budget.
Sophia, do you live in the city itself or outside the city? If you live outside the city, are there any restrictions to drive your vehicle into the city or certain areas of the city? Thank you.
Bureaucracy is notorious in France, Italy and Portugal! That is the main complaint of a lot of people. Great video! As an artistic and creative person as well I can completely understand why you would take on this challenge. You are courageous to chase your dream Sophia. Bless you, may you flourish :)
I couldn't agree more. It is a challenge, takes so much time and patience! I am happy that I finally got my new permit to stay last week! :) Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot to me. :) Take care! :D
At some point, I did! It was a bit easy at that time(pre-covid), atleast for me. It helps if you speak Italian. Right now it's tough since there are a lot of establishments closed, the tourism industry is down, and a lot of people are losing their jobs. So I don't know now. Hopefully things will get better soon! 😊🙏
Hi Rince! As of the moment, the rental price has been low because there are only a few foreigners(students, tourist, etc..) lately. So it's not so good. Property owners are lowering their rental prices so much lately. But hopefully things will get better soon! I think it depends on which tenants you are targeting, short term or long term and if you have someone who can accommodate them if ever something goes wrong. Not really sure. 🙈 Try asking the opinions of some agents here, I think they can elaborate more regarding which real estate is best! :)
I’m not that fluent yet, there are so many words to learn and my grammar is not perfect. But I can have conversations, go to the bank, watch a dubbed movie and understand 70% of it, etc.. I think it took me around a year and a half for me. It really depends on the person. Hopefully by the end of next year I will be fluent. 😅☺️

Solipsistic young woman who seems to be - whining? really? - about living in Florence. She seems sweet, but this isn’t terribly helpful. And she needs to learn Italian. She seems to be perplexed as to why that would would be a good idea.
Hi Kira! Thank you for your comment. :) I don't know if you watched the whole video. I did learn Italian after deciding that I want to stay here and knowing that I can live here(maybe after 10 months of living here), but again it takes time to fully grasp a language. Maybe others learn the language fast, unfortunately for me it takes time. So it was difficult. I did say in the video how important it is to speak the language, that it would make your life so much easier if you know the language. Sorry to hear that this isn't helping you, hopefully you will find something else. :) Now, I am happy to say that I can finally speak the language. :)
