Scott and Mark wrote this beautiful song during the pandemic lockdown in 2020. We definitely needed it then and still need it now. I love the chill vibe of the video.
Scott wrote this to thank his partner for getting him through the year of covid sadness and fear to thank him. He’s also thanking the group for all staying in touch via Zoom. Beautiful song and arrangement. Thank you for such a great reaction ❤️
This is stunningly beautiful and moves me to tears every time. For PTX fans, Christmas is year round. We never miss an opportunity to share their excellence in music.
Absolutely beautiful original song. May I say I think you've fallen in love with the cello. The expression on your face changes every time the cello is played.
The first time I heard this there were tears and today it again moved me with emotions - memories, loss, joy, pain, gratitude. This group is a gift and a blessing to us all. Thank you.
Absolutely better late than never! With PTX Christmas songs are always in season. Love your reaction per usual, D 💜 Gorgeous song, gorgeous lyrics, gorgeous humans (or gorgeous 👽s…😜)
I don't comment often these days, but I want you to know I enjoy every PTX reaction you do, and I appreciate that the journey is never over, even though you're a full-on fan, now. Thank You is so beautiful. Scott really thrives as a songwriter.
❤❤❤❤❤. Having a grateful heart is always healing. As Mr. Rogers said “ Look for the Helpers”. PTX are helpers and so is your channel. I smile every time I watch a reaction. No idea how I have missed this one.
I absolutely adore this song. Everything it stands for, everything it means. Poignant and sincere, like few songs ever achieve. You're just a little late to the party...when it came out at the end of 2020 (the year from hell) it turned me into a blubbering mess every time I heard it. Now I hear it with a semblance of joy and hope. It will take time, but I do believe this song will become a new holiday standard. Like Jingle Bells or Joy To The World. Just need to get it some airplay. Great reaction D...Thank You.
I'm so glad you did find this to react too. Better late than never right? Your face gave it all away. Scott is an incredible song writer. This is a deeply moving song. Thank you for doing it! I'm glad you didn't know it was from Christmas, you might have decided not to do it. That would have been a shame.
I'm coming up on the first anniversary of my husband's death. This song is what I think of Pentatonix; they've eased my grief over the past year. I would be in a much worse place right now if not for them.
Thank you D for your channel. You are my favorite reactor. Thank you for being who you are, sharing great music and allowing us the opportunity to let you into our homes daily. More than that, thank you for your service. I'm well aware that the freedoms we have today are not free. THANK YOU
I think of this as the first Scott solo song that he included PTX in rather than releasing it by himself. I’m glad he had the confidence to release Mars, both songs are incredible.
I so totally agree. Both are amazing and really a testament to him and what happens when you find someone who believes in you so much. That you believe it enough to start believing in yourself. (horrible run on sentence sorry) I'm hoping that it's just a hint of the magic that's to come. 😸
This is such a simple yet beautiful song and Scott's voice is so perfect for it (he's written personal songs before with the intent of others taking the lead, like Light In The Hallway for Avi, so I'm just glad he was able to allow the vulnerability to sing lead himself). I can't listen to it very often because it makes me all teary. Scott's song writing has matured so much in the last couple of years too, I think, it makes me so excited to hear more of the his solo stuff and the musical he apparently has written (or co-written, not sure), too. Also, interesting thing I noticed just on the last time I watched the vid is the neon rose that Mitch opened. I had obviously seen it the first time I watched the mv but it didn't mean anything at the time, and I remember thinking it was an interesting choice for a pretend gift. Of course, looking back it now makes sense, because at the time he would have been working on his Roses EP. I also really love that they had their doggos in the video, so many people I know got through that first year of the pandemic because of their pets keeping them going.
scott wrote this song during the worst of the pandemic for his now-husband... I had the honor of seeoing them perform this live during their christmas tour in 2021... before it was released. I cry every time I watch this.. such truth in the hell of those hard days in isolation- and we all have someone to thank! :). glad you reacted to this... :). keep loving and keeping on!
Thank you. This was indeed a beautiful way to start my day. No worries about it being a Christmas video. With PTX we get to feel that Christmas spirit ALL year long. I appreciate you for the music that you bring into people's lives.
Perfect song for covid Christmas 2020. More impactful when you remember what was going on at the time. I just lost it when I saw the old couple on the TV. Still get teary eyed listening to it. A fan made a video of Pentaholics and reactors thanking Pentatonix for helping them get through the lockdowns and other tough situations while this song was going in the background. It made me ugly cry. They did help many a Pentaholic get through that tough year, including me.
I BAWLED when this first came out. So powerful. And even though it was written with a romantic partner in mind, it can be attributed to anyone. It makes me think of my kids, who got me through 2020 (which included not only the pandemic, but also a bad breakup, a job change after 14 years, and quitting college for the 2nd time).
Scott wrote this beautiful song with his fiancé Mark on Scotts birthday in 2020 - during the lockdowns. So the whole "I can't believe, This year you've got me through" and "Oh, Lord, it's been a year, With little joys..."makes a lot of sense. It's a song saying thank you to each other, to their families and the fans.
You are absolutely right. I believe I've thanked you before, but just in case I haven't, thank you. You are one of my favorite reactors. I'm partial to PTX and your love and appreciation for them always makes me smile. They helped get me through so many difficulties as have you. So, a huge heartfelt thanks to you, your big heart, your life and your light. I wish you and all your subscribers peace.

Yes, to all of that. Seeing D's face and reaction to this beautiful song made me cry too.
Verse one thanks to his significant other
Verse two thanks to the rest of PTX
Verse three thanks to the fans.
Thanks for the reaction
wow...I remember when this came out during the Pandemic, It was so powerful to hear and still is.
This song is so beautiful and brings tears to my eyes every single time I hear it. Thanks for your reaction.

Just a gorgeous song….Sorry you missed this during last Christmas. Scott has been writing just gorgeous songs. ……Judy D

You got emotional. It's normal, it's a beautiful song. I cry every time . Thank you for this reaction, D !

Almost feels like Scott is saying 'thank you' to the rest of PTX. Beautiful. X

Such a beautiful song. It has become a Christmas favorite along with " That's Christmas to me." Thank you, PTX, for these wonderful songs.
Heck, if it's from PTX, I'll listen to their Christmas music all year around.
Me too ☺️
Thanking your parents is the song Evergreen!
