    Love the Tom & Ava silent smirk during rules explanation when he says "but it's nice to be able to kill"

    Looks like a solid quick and fun social deduction game. I would've backed this if I gave it a chance, but when this Kickstarter launched, I was really burnt out from playing literal hundreds of games of Blood on the Clocktower (which I do still love quite a lot). I love everything I've played from Brotherwise Games and Boss Monster was actually my first ever Kickstarter. Love SU&SD, too.

    Late to the game (pun intended)! 🔥 Can’t wait to get this to the table this wknd! What are some of the reasons/strategies why players would choose NOT to play a Ninja card/bluff and therefore risk not playing their card in that round?

    • @BrotherwiseGames
      @BrotherwiseGames 2 місяці тому +1

      It's important to remember that you're playing for your house's honor and EVERYONE in your house wins if your house has the highest ranking survivor at game end. This can change your strategy quite a bit if you're a lower ranking member and trying to prop up your #1. Maybe being an information broker would be more useful? Maybe being a spoiler. There's lots of ways to contribute to your team's victory!

    Two things:
    1. Is it correct that you do not have to play any or all of your Ninja cards?
    2. What do you think about playing cards of a phase in order, if you choose, as opposed to showing them simultaneously? If someone hesitates, they can game the game by not playing a card unnecessarily. Calling the numbers in order removes the disadvantage of playing honestly, without hesitation.

      1. Correct, you are free to NOT play a card during it's phase, BUT you may not play a card out of phase, so you are more or less doing this as a bluff the you may have a different card in your hand. 2. This sounds like an interesting house rule, but would certainly lead to a LOT more talking through turns and slowing things down a bit.

    Have to come back with another question :). Regarding the Gravedigger. This card is obviously played during the Trickster phase. My understanding is that using Trickster:
    - I can take a Spy or Mystic card, in which case I have to use it immediately or not use it at all (since its phase is already passed).
    - I can take a Blind Assassin or Shinobu card and use it either immediately or in the respective future phase
    - I can take another Trickster card and also use it immediately even if other players have Trickster cards with lower numbers waiting to be implemented. Or maybe I can even choose to wait and use the card after other players use their lower number Trickster cards? What would be the correct ruling here - what I can choose to do and what I must do in terms of order of play if other players also have Trickster card(s) whose number may be lower or higher than the number on the Trickster card I just picked using Gravedigger?
    Wonder if I got it right in the first 2 bullet points and what you suggest on the third.

      Correct on the Spy or Mystic. Since those phases have passed, this would be your last chance to play them. Correct on Blind Assassin and Shinobi. And yes, you can play a newly drawn Trickster immediately OR later during this phase as other Trickster cards resolve in order. Because the Grave Digger is #2, the only Trickers card you couldn't really "wait" to play would be the Shapeshifter (#1).

    One more question. This may not be very useful but theoretically can a player draft 2 identical cards (say 2 Mystics or 2 Shinobi) and so during the Night play both his/her cards in the same phase?

    Hello Brotherwise, the Ninja Cards look like they are non standard sizes? What size are they and do you know where I can get sleeves for that size? I like the sleeve my playing cards.

      Hi James, the big cards are tarot (70 x 120 mm), the smaller cards are Euro Poker (63 x 88 mm)
