This was the best reading. I'd tried to listen to several librivox recordings and just couldn't get into it. You brought the story alive. Thanks.

Delightful! I'm writing Christmas/New Years greetings while listening. You are the only one who can narrate. All the others are in shadow. Thank you, Tony!

Other than too low volume, the narration is brilliant, evocative, suspenseful, sensual, thrilling.

Oh, how beautifully well done. This was wonderful to find. I'll have it up on Jan 6th for "Old Christmas" in memory of my mother. We both loved this story so❤

Thank you. Dickens wrote great loyal men like nephew and clerk and so many in Great Expectations - loyal, generous, faithful, strong men💛

    I just found this.
    Wonderful!
A perfect start to Advent 2022, and so lovely to hear Dickens read in a Northern dialect.
I've been told that Dickens had been visiting Manchester prior to writing "A Christmas Carol", and the poverty and squalor that he saw there inspired him to write what has become this timeless story.

It was very generous of you to share your gifts of time, characterization, acting and dialects with this classic. Like others have mentioned, it's been a few years since I read this myself, and it's wonderful to appreciate Dicken's mastery of description and story telling by listening to it. Many thanks---and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year!

I did it, I finished it today I started it yesterday! I absolutely loved it! Much better than watching a film! There were four different versions I was going to choose from and I chose you! I’m so glad I did! Thank you Tony! I apologise about the message I left last night on your story about hide and seek because I was a bit pissed! So embarrassed today because I cannot remember what I wrote and I don’t want to look!!🧚‍♀️🌹🌟🌹🧚‍♀️

Also let me say to any of the other listeners who may read this, this is one of the only channels of which I read the comments because there is so much gratitude and appreciation here and I love to be part of it. You did it! The long long long long long one! One of the only ones by Charles Dickens That I don’t find depressing, Poverty and evil intentions sometimes make it hard to read, Oliver & a couple have a happy ending- Makes it worthwhile, plus you can watch them at the movies but this year I’m going to listen.... On Christmas day! Second year can’t spend with my family because of them being abroad and because of Covid, so this will cheer me up! Well done Tony! Too soon to wish you a very happy Christmas.... I will do- even though I’ve done it! 🙃When I listen I will do it properly! And I wish you a happy New Year! The best year ever! We all love you!!🌟🌟🌟✨✨✨✨✨

This would have been perfect if not for the music at the end. It made me jump out of my skin. The reading was so relaxing, but then this harsh music sounded like an alarm at the end. Too bad. I have to delete this from my sleep playlist.
