  • So Genshin Impact recently released a short 1 minute teaser for their new region Natlan which is the pyro region and it showcases the new gimmicks for the region and in this video we discuss what the new gameplay will be like in genshin 5.0 in natlan and possible inspiration for Natlan.

    Genshin already has this transformation system. If you did Khvarena of Good and Evil quest in Realm of Farakhet. You can transform into a Pari (fairy in English) and fly around. This came before Fontaine. It felt like a prototype of swimming because you can go any directions while flying.

    the reach in this video is insane.. this is so baseless, mind you I'm not a fan of genshins game design sometimes, they for sure have flaws but it aint stolen just because of a transform ability that includes water rock and plants in a game ABOUT elemental differences. IG every media to ever use that was copying Zelda guys. also yes breath of the wild is a huge inspo for 90 percent of open world games but saying they have the same art style story or hell even game play mechanics is just incorrect. The leveling up system in genshin is more then enough to show differences in game play. This is like saying every 3D platformer was copying Mario 64, or that every life sim game is copying the sims. There are games that define and create genres; other games exploring those genres is not theft nor copying, Nintendo is notoriously protective of their franchises, if this was meaningful and had any leg to stand on they would've sued Hoyo into the ground a long time ago.

      Dood, consume fking depressants, that lack of line breaking is cancerous.
      The majoras mask inspiration makes sense because it’s the ‘main character’ transforming into something else to be used for puzzle solving mechanics checks all the boxes, especially since it perfectly explains why it’s not a mount and why your not ‘mind linking’ with a wild one, like its Pokémon scarlet/violet’s stupid gimmick locked behind a giant paywall to ‘beta test’ a silly gimmick.
      Until I get to enjoy seeing how buggie as hell this thing is and see how much of a war happens with Nathan transformations getting compared to Wu’Wa echo transformations, it’s impossible for them to dodge the accusations.
      Cause without proper gameplay, one can easily base it on how every damn region has been designed since Inazuma:
      1. Traversal gimmick locked to only that region.
      2. Requires extensive ‘grinding’ usually behind a daily cap to upgrade gimmicks to access more areas, often locking very precious items behind it.
      3. The gimmicks usually flip off any interactivity that characters could have, even when by something like how elemental reactions normally work, should result in certain ones should have been acting like mini reactor application’eers.
      4. At the end of the day it’s the same song and dance grind that is more tedious, cause they usually made map design absurdly frustrating, such as being extremely larger and often times with huge blank spots, with conviently placed gimmick items to ‘speed travel over’, to waste people’s time and copium them into thinking the gimmick is useful.
      Moral of the story: Go WuWa instead, Genshite clearly never loved its simps in the first place.~

      @@BladeSerph bud I said I'm not a fan of genshins game design, the movement is flawed, the leveling system is ass and do not get me started on the inconsistency of elemental reactions; a core gameplay feature in combat.
      I digress the leveling system in breath of the wild is entirely different, there isn't one. In breath of the wild you get better though your experience as a player and loot in genshins your strength depends on your knowledge of reactions sometimes but mostly with artifacts characters skill level, character level etc (cause it's a gacha game. Btw. A core feature that breath of the wild doesn't have. Not saying the gacha system is good it's ass but yk)
      Genshin is a buggy nightmare game. I never argued that but saying it's a breath of the wild clone cause it's in the same genre is out of touch. That was my entire point. I play genshins cause I enjoy the storyline, genuinely. I'm very attached to some the characters but I also like their creature design.
      Anyway, just because there's a thing that digs, a grass thing with a grapple mechanic and a water thing that swims doesn't mean it's a legend of Zelda rip off- it means those are pretty simple concepts.

      That’s fictional subjectivity, such as final fantasy, dragon quest and many other games will have various ‘descriptions’ for what counts as a monster, what counts as a dragon, what counts not as a monster yet also is a dragon.
      But when you go by genshiTE terms, they have had:
      -Dragons that can turn into humans.
      -Dragons that count as ‘guardians’ and intelligent to not maul others like animals.
      -Dragons that are extremely vague as fk on the typical base definition of dragons, so they can make bi’pedal squirrel like furry creatures with a chameleon tongue that can apparently support its weight apparently counts the same as storm terror or the ‘Rex lapis’ dragon.
      -Zhongli’s dragon azhdahya, is literally a dragon literally rock and stone that got shaped into the form of a dragon.
      So overall, the ‘Nathan dragons’ based on definition clearly fall under the ‘monsties dragon’ definition, likely to be mihoyo’s attempt to rip off Monster hunter stories, with very marketable plushie shaped creatures, unlike the more jagged shapes of normal monster hunter’s gameplay style.
      Which further cements the point of why the fk they don’t have the traveler riding them, because they want the creatures seen more to push marketing value, have an excuse why no one else is ‘riding them’ and likely not need todo any unique differences between lumine and aether riding them.
      Hell if the ‘bubble diaper’ to cover up panty shots during Fontaine didn’t give it away, they clearly don’t want any of the characters doing panty shots while riding or surfing on those creatures.
      Which just further lets them get lazy with the rock ‘dragon’ being able to burrow underground, instead of simply submerging itself low enough for the traveler to hang onto while climbing walls or something.
      Which honestly would made it way more damn interesting.
      But in the end it’s just them doing the TCG crap again, they wanna use an entire region this time, to push as much physical merchandise to SUCC moar greed up.

      There’s a difference between inspiration and stealing.
      Inspiration usually means they use part of it as a base and innovate it in thar own way.
      Stealing means they almost 1:1 copied it, often making it be an inferior version to it.
      Which has been a thing since 1.0 genshiTE ‘conviently’, had things like burning grass to create wind up drafts, creatures with heavy shields and stony armor with the early elite enemies and using food as a means todo mass healing but having a satiety gauge to prevent it being 100% exact copy of breath of the wild, including mass eating apples or just stuffing with food as your entire ‘healing solution’ usually.
      Either way:
      -Squirrel dragon is gonna need to be able to freely shoot grapples or it’s just a dressed up version of sumeru’s gimmick.
      -Manta ray dragon is gonna get real boring if all he has is rivers and conviently placed ‘jump rings’ to make rainbows it can ride on, since you could say it’s just a mix of water walking character’s gimmick with extra flair.
      -And the earth dragon might as well just be a faster version of Kiara, complete with a ‘jumping gimmick’ of turning into a ‘drill’.
      Maybe if they have it where you can fight as them or they have other things they can do beyond those pointed out elements, people are gonna get fking bored of them super fast, especially with nothing like alternate colors, variants or doing anything else beyond what was ‘shown off’.
      Even wuthering wave’s freaking turtle echo has more fun to them cause on top of disco ball dancing, you can get attacked and spin to fly away.
      To which people manages to create tech for that to where people can JUGGLE YOU, near indefinitely while your flying in the sky with gun user characters.~

      @@BladeSerphyeah your right Genshin stole ideas from Zelda just like Wuwa copied Genshin.They didn’t even try to change most of the ui.At least hoyo put work in Genshin by stealing zelda and made a risky Gacha game what about wuwa.My overall point is that is just a game where make take inspirations from each other and make whatever they like.

      @@updown7874 Now your just repeating my statements but forgetting important elements:
      1. Wuwa if it did `take` anything from Genshite, was inspiration to do BETTER, not copying and not actually innovating.
      Because the fact alone most of the traversal (Air dodges, backflips, wall running, grapple hook, grapple anchor points, Echo skill alternative movement, able to actually switch characters while in the air, sea and on the glider itself) is NOT tied to gacha and they actually have interesting crazy techs like using Lingyang, a STANDARD 5 star unit, despite being one of the worst of the 5 in combat, has some crazy arse tech to literally travel over ravines. Where Yinshi may be able todo the same, but her verticality portion is tied to the echo you can farm so you can already shove Jue on anyone and get a pocket rocket shield climb on demand (Amazing that you you needed a 5 star character that one barely shows up, another barely shows up and the other was originally memed to be bad till everyone realized how busted that char was).
      2. Simplistic design even for a UI can be good when done right, but thars a good reason why ONE of my top 5 reasons i stopped playing warframe is what i call: Degradtion of information via over-use of SYMBOLOGY.
      AKA when a game wants to use `unique language` that uses symbols and way too many that are extremely vague as fk that its near impossible to keep up with. This is why its usually better for `symbols` and language in a game are simple and easy to correlate what its suppose to be for with common things, like a symbol of a sword being swung, a symbol of doing a backflip or dash for dodging, etc. etc. etc.
      3. GenStingie had Covid Lockdown and excessive focus on social media spam, it straight up had a BABI difficulty mode to push a product with loads of people stuck in bed on a continental and international level where some couldnt even goto work because of it.
      The fact they straight up did a pre-livestream for Zenless zone zero with excessive amounts of an entire studio with crazy amounts of silly things like theme`atic vending machines, Coffee art, cutscene bloat and so on that made up like 90% of the livestream and just was re-using promotional video material that next to nil showed off actual combat really shows where Mihoyo`s priorities are to `get people hooked to the game by visual appeal` then `flaunt the combat to attract people to a game that is SUPPOSEDLY BE ALL ABOUT ITS COMBAT.`
      Hell, talking about Livestreams, atleast despite the problems with yangyang, they did a good hot take by having one of the people involved straight up cosplaying as YangYang, which even if it was a cringe/bad impression, still was appealing enough to make some good video stuff which actually made people interested.
      And outside of people purposely using the Zen-lazy livestream with poorly edited Voice tweaks in, i dont think many could use that for MEME material because it likely already been done to death due to the excessive amount of footage re-use and likely super boring.
      Moral of the story: ZZZ doesnt have Genstingie`s bonus duck of a Covid lockdown and its bonus duck of being one of the first open world mobile games.
      ZZZ is also apparently got such a forgettable look that im sure many are just forcing themselves to `like it`, but mediocrity MEH-ness is the easiest way for something to die off. Because a bad game can become a enjoyable shite-take, just as much as a good game leaves an impression to last and lead to being used as `inspiration from either side to lead to usage of it in other materials.
      Also the fact its been 5+ years and Genstingie does not even have an anime after promoting a teaser for that for 2+ years or something is just pathetic.

    I'm almost done with the video as I am writing this, I don't know if we can confidently say they took inspiration from Majora's Mask, it's a comforting comparison to think about! It's a nice throwback into childhood memories.
    The Rock Mask/Geo enemy is the comparison that had the most substance to my eyes, more or less.
    Really hope that we'll be going blind into Natlan! I'm still looking forward to it, I'm very curious of how they'll depict the cultures they take inspiration from, the Archon Quests and the Pyro Archon. It's very fun things.

    There 6 of them, also you probably just transform into them because it's way cheaper than make animations for all characters and different dragons

      It’s called being too lazy to not animate just the traveler riding them and so they can show off the creatures more to ship out the god damn physical merchandise for them.
      Just a reminder, anyone remember the bubble diapers during Fontaine? Clearly mihoyo can’t come up with an excuse this time to have ‘bubble diapers again’ on these ‘mounts’, to cover up all dem panty shots, so they just got rid of the characters altogether, meaning likely half the time or even more your in Nathan, you won’t even be using any of your characters, which is a flip off against a gacha game itself.
      You don’t make cutsie fking ‘mount creatures’, without the intention to monetize the hell out of that.
      Also I can already tell they are either gonna not do all 6, make the other 3 have one or two of them be ‘farmable boss fodder instead’, or just literal npcs cause they might go as far to make some dragon village you can only enter as the monsties, whether it’s been confirmed if you transform into them or your ‘Mind linking instead’
      In either case it’s clearly monster hunter stories inspired, except being lazier by not doing the riding part.
      And we all know they are gonna have a BULLSHITE EXCUSE, where you can’t use them outside of Nathan or probably restrict it to smaller set zone areas that are more like rail’way traversal sections then have anything more beyond using them as ‘implied shortcuts’, when it’s more like they wanna flip off normal travel probably by outright preventing you from using normal traversal tech to get anywhere at all.
      Plus likely lock extra traversal gimmicks on the ‘mounts’, by needing todo daily comiiiiiisions again, to level them up…
      Just like how honkai impact 3rd and genshiTE impact has always done to time gate the fk outta gameplay progress
