No matter how great the studio versions are, nothing, absolutely nothing beats the live version. I have to listen to any live song a couple of times because I'm so busy watching Elvis, my ears go blank. Not because he's so gorgeous (even though he is) but because I don't want to miss one inflection, one smile, one look. It's an intenseness I just never felt with any other artist.
Seph, you look like I did the first time I watched this! Elvis was so electrifying on stage! No one can top him, ever! You’re so gonna love this stage in the Elvis journey! This song is so fun!
I beg you, please do the studio version.I believe it's the second track on the Elvis's back album and then did the 73 version. They're very different. The same song.I like the studio version best.I have pleaded with Elvis reactors that I watch and no one does the the contrasts .Hopefully it will be you!
I love seeing people watch Elvis live-I think he is one artist that sounds great recorded but super sonic fantastic live!!! His relationship with his band, the audience and the music is almost supernatural. He is so talented that he does things to all the songs that make them better live and in the moment-adding vocalizations (like the high note sung with the backup singers, changing words, switching keys, etc…he always does something special. And it does make you feel warm all over, Seph. It was fun to see you enjoy the Elvis so much.
The Seph is like a little child in a candy store for the 1st time, just to think 19yrs of the Elvis train bought us to the point where the Elvis performed this show live to over 1•5billion people man what a show this was frikn masterpiece of a live show none of this auto tune garbage they dish up these days.TCB&TLC
Think one off his best shows ever. The fun they had on stage. The songs he chose. The suit… saw the real one while at Graceland and it is awe.some! Should watch ‘big hunk o’ love’ near the end off the show. He throws water on poor Charlie Hodge in front off a world wide adience. They just had fun❤
Burning Love! As teenagers we played this 45 single full blast over and over, 1972, the record player hopping two and fro from the cool vibes!! 😂💖🎶💃🇿🇦 Love 'ya Elvis!!
Love this, who wouldn't? The Elvis always surprised us throughout his career. We'll never see another. Thanks for the memories, I appreciate you Seph.😍
This is the very first song I heard Elvis sing when I was about 5. my mum used to buy a random LP every week and one day she turned up with the Burning Love album. I remember everything about my first "meeting" with Elvis. I had my own little record player and when mum came in with this record I saw his face and felt as if I knew him. (I actually didn't realise at the time that he was actually reminding me of my dad. They looked very similar at that time in their lives. And later. I found out that we shared the same ancestry! 😮❤) Anyway, I put my record player on the floor, knelt next to it and I quickly put the LP on and the first one song was Burning Love. I even remember the gobsmacked expression I had as it played. I didn't listen to any others on the album until I had played that one about 20 times! Nothing had hit my ears and heart like that, out of everything I had heard on any records and on the radio. I then listened to the other songs on the LP and learned every one! (Except Guadalajara which I just danced to! Lol) Then "Follow That Dream" came on the tv and I was just blown away! I spent every bit of my pocket money for years then, buying as many Elvis records and cassettes I could get hold of. I even have a wonderful double album in pink vinyl. All my kids love Elvis and now my granddaughter. It makes me so happy to hear them pop an Elvis CD on and start singing their heads off. 😊❤
A great "Burning Love" is from 1972 in Greensboro, North Carolina where Elvis was on stage holding the lyric sheet & told the thousands in the audience that "it's a new song so we may goof it up but we'll get it right." ua-cam.com/video/sx7I4DfUGM4/v-deo.html He held on to that paper through the entire song. The end is REAL fun because he said "i thought we'd never end the blang thing" Sure seemed like they wanted to keep going. I don't think there is a singer who ever did or ever would stand on stage holding a lyric sheet & admit that they may mess up, but for him it was so normal & natural & did not look weird.
January 14, 1973 was the World's First Live Satellite Broadcast World Wide of ELVIS '' ALOHA FROM HAWAII " It drew the largest viewing audience in the history of television broadcasting ! Almost 2 Billion people is 48 countries watched it ! More than watched the Moon Landing in 1969 ! The Concert raised over $ 75,000.00 for Cancer Research and Elvis matched it with the same amount ! It was also the very First Quadraphonic 4 Channel LP Album issued and released by RCA Victor ! ELVIS is the KING Of MUSIC !!
Oh yes! yes! yes! Seph! you finally did it!! you came to the 73 Aloha Hawaii Concert Live!! Elvis at his magnificant peak!!! All Beauty Power and Passion!!! Music flowing through Elvis like electricity!!! Volcanos erupting everywhere and being blown away over and over again!!!Just put your seat belt on Seph you are going for a wild ride!!! You are going to see Elvis Presley like you never seen him before!!!!I I hope you can handle it!!! Oh I just love love your reactions!!!
Can’t take your eyes off him right! Seph love watching your pure joyful reactions ! Buckle up for the rest of this Epic Concert :) The Elvis Energy ♥️💥 💥
Good morning Seph (Good Afternoon now for you). You're early today. There's great stuff in this concert. Rockin' and croonin' Elvis on steroids. Great memories for me, sitting on the floor in front of the TV with my daughter watching this in 1973.
My fav Elvis rocker! Somewhere at the beginning of your Elvis reactions you asked us to write down our all time favourite Elvis song. I did, and it was w a y down the chronological order. Now it's almost here, part of the concert, I cannot wait!
His voice is absolutely amazing in the Aloha show, and he looks just as fantastic. He doesn’t move much throughout the entire show. Whether it’s due to nerves, adapting to audiences from around the world or someting else, I don’t know. So, even though I love the performance, I struggle with the obvious stiffness in his body - in stark contrast to all the emotions his voice and face go through during the show.
Theres a couple of the early performances i've already reacted to nearly 2 years ago but have been removed due to copyright issues since, Maybe "if you don't mind" you could throw me up a list of performances or songs that is worth listening too from that time period? then i can tell you if i've watched them or not?
@@SephPlays Absolutely sir. I love your reactions. I'll get to it. And there are some alternate versions from That's the Way It Is that it would be great for you to see.
Sooo flipping good man! Elvis live is something else. I've only watched this about 10 times by now. Do you still have it ranked the same as before, after watching this performance?
😍😍🥵 im melting watching this with you seph, and i managed to see almost as soon as you posted it, wish we could just watch the whole concert together, right here right now 😂 Awesome reaction ❤❤
Aloha is a great show don't get me wrong, but the 68 Comeback, That's The Way It Is, and Elvis on Tour are honestly my preferences. I'll be so excited when you get to TTWII and EOT!
Look my favorite two Elvis eras is ‘68 Comeback Special & Vegas Husky Elvis I’ve not the biggest fan but I just prefer his later career he really relished into his artistry and he was vocally superior as well late in his career!✨💯(RIP The King Of Rock N Roll)
The high note you mentioned was Elvis repeating what the top tenor, Bill Baize of the Stamps, was hitting. Listen carefully after "hunka, hunka, burning love". Bill pops that off after each "hunka, hunka". Fun story on the work up to that note Bill sang in studio.
No arguments from me, a brilliant performance by all concerned on a IMHO difficult song to sing convincingly at this pitch.. He grabs 'it back' at about the 2 minute mark here in true professional style - one of his best live performance that was filmed.
According to a 2022 video uploaded to the Elvis Presley UA-cam channel, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll wasn’t interested in recording “Burning Love.” His recent divorce from Priscilla Presley made him more interested in recording sad ballads, such as the forgotten classic “Separate Ways.” However, producer Felton Jarvis wanted to help Elvis record a new big hit. After all, none of Elvis’ tunes had reached the top 30 in two years.
(0:57) ELVIS: "Burnin', burnin', burnin' and nothing can cool me, yeah. I just might turn into smoke, but I feel fine..." SEPH: "I love that line. I've always loved that line. You go watch my original reaction to this. You know, I might just turn into smoke, but I'm feeling fine, ya know? That burning power. That burning love. It's coming at you and it makes you feel so lush inside, like that warm tingly feeling you get like butterflies..." 🔥 🦋 This really is an incredible performance. Elvis is at his peak. His band is extraordinary. And the mix is great.
Poor Elvis had gone practically cold turkey for this, all I see is him in pain. Obviously he was technically perfect throughout the whole show. And he hated this song, he didn't want to record it at the time be ause he was getting divorced and he disliked the words. I now consider this to be one of his best tracks. Live the LPO version.
Love this concert. I've probably watched it a thousand times. I own the deluxe edition. This is one of Elvis' worst performances of the song. He sounds nasally with little enthusiasm or energy. I still think it's cool. He's The King. It is well noted that he didn't like the song. It's one of my favorites. Again, this is a great concert, but obviously Elvis didn't move much. He lacked a lot of energy at this point in his career. He still looked great and sang great through most of it.
The "really high note" was most likely Bill Baize's voice. In the studio version Elvis looked at Baize indicating he wanted him to add some spice. I wish he had ended the song with a simple "Hunk, Hunk."
It looks like Elvis is singing it 'live' though Tim. You can see his head move with the shift in his voice. Seph saw it was The Elvis singing. It may have been Bill Baize in the studio but Elvis tried to make this concert the best he'd done up to that point and i'm sure that is Elvis singing the high parts!🥰

I know exactly what you mean, I'm the same, he could just stand there not moving at all, and I'm still mesmerized, just from the facial expressions 😍🥵
I'M STILL BLUSHING , AND MY HEART IS JUST POUNDING... SUCH A FEELING AT MY AGE STILLL WITH ELVIS.😊
He was on point with every song on this concert!
Elvis in the 70’s is like 50’s Elvis on steroids❤️
So Good❤
It's like that, because that's literally what it is... 😅😬
Oh Seph you are gonna love this whole concert ,he looks great from head to toe ,and his voice has just improved with age
Seph, you look like I did the first time I watched this! Elvis was so electrifying on stage! No one can top him, ever! You’re so gonna love this stage in the Elvis journey! This song is so fun!
I love how he punches the air at the end. Brilliant.
Me too ❤
I can hardly wait for you to get to Fever!! This show is the absolute best performance of that song!!!
My favourite version of Fever is June 3rd 1976 when The Elvis sang: 'Fever when you pull my hair!'🥰

Please go back and review his epic TV performances from the 1950's (Sullivan, Berle, Dorsey Brothers) when Elvis killed it.
Yes I love the 50s performances so much too, he obviously was very young and full of energy then, but I adore every era of Elvis ❤
