      Yeah after 2 Mazda dealers quoted me around 270 dollars for OEM pads with no hardware I said screw it and started to diy as much maintenance as possible. No labor included lol.
      Found powerstop brakes for the front and rear that were 100 after taxes and delivery and installed it myself. The investment in tools pays for itself within the first 2 years.

      @@johnchoi2726it's the part for removing the rotor. You can also smack it with a rubber mallet. The bolt OP was talking about is a valve cover bolt. Personality Id rather not, but if it works in a pinch then it's a solid idea. The valve cover does have a tightening sequence which if you remove that bolt could produce valve cover leakage theoretically.

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  Місяць тому

      Hi, yes, there are two torques for the caliper bracket bolts, one for the steel steering knuckle and one for the aluminum steering knuckle:
      Front Caliper Bracket Bolts Torque (Steel Steering Knuckle): 79 lbf-ft or 107 Nm.
      Front Caliper Bracket Bolts Torque (Aluminum Steering Knuckle): 111 lbf-ft or 150 Nm.
      It is a good idea to check at the dealership using your VIN number the correct torque value of your RAV4 before you start working on the brakes.

    As a serious shortcut, you can simply remove the cradle that the caliper fits in. The entire caliper and cradle can then be removed by only removing two bolts. This is efficient only if replacing the rotors and pads, as the rotor requires the cradle be removed. So, skip the caliper bolts shown this video and move to the cradle bolts. The caliper will stay bolted to the cradle and pull right out. You can pop out the pads and insert new ones while the caliper is still mounted to the cradle. Don't forget, this is one heavy hunk of metal you are playing with. Support it with your hands, rest it on the heat shield, or tie up up to your shocks/struts above....but do not let it hang by the brake line or it will pull out of the crimp and leak. Exception...if you want to clean and detail your bolts or caliper, then feel free to spend as much time removing all four bolts, then wire brush scrub as much as you want, lol.

      Здесь необходимо уточнить- если у вас" Plug-in Hybrid"( он же "Prime" на северо-американском рынке) с возможностью внешней подзарядки, то тормозные диски и колодки от обычного гибрида не подходят. Диски и колодки бензиновой версии и обычного гибрида взаимозаменяемы в Северной Америке. Ничего не можем сказать о российской сборке. Всегда лучше проконсультироваться у местного дилера.

      Какое ваше мнение

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  2 роки тому +1

      Автоматическая коробка действительно "запечатана" , без контакта с атмосферой деградация масла минимальна но неизбежна, это так же неизбежно будет менять нормальный алгоритм работы коробки. Бортовой компьютер просто компнесирует эти изменения с учетом старения масла. Если масло заменили на новое, независимо от пробега (даже после нескольких тысяч), кто-то дожлен сообщить компьютеру что масло новое и необходимо вернуться к нулевой точке отсчета.Обычно это оборудование только у спецов с Тойоты. Сложность непосредственно физической замены масла состоит в точном определении уровня в коробке при заданной температуре (не линейная зависимость обьёма от температуры). Всё это есть у дилера и он не торпиться делиться ни оборудованием ни софтом. Есть трюки для замены масла но без апдейта софта коробка будет работать с провалами и зависаниями и чем старее было масло до замены тем заметнее буду эти явления на новом масле. Рекомендованного пробега для трансмиссионного масла нет, комп сам отправит код для сообщеняя о техобслуживании когда насчитает достаточное колличество оборотов вала в коробке, либо дилер порекомендует сделать этот сервис базируясь на своей информации. Подтверждённой статистики для такого пробега пока нет- слишком молодая модель.

    Здравствуйте, у меня вопрос:
    У дилера мне сказали что не рекомендуется менять колодки и диски самому, если в комплектации с emergency electronic brakes, что если я сам туда полезу, потом не будет работать эта система. Подскажите пожалуйста, врут или действительно так?

      Just because you’re changing the pads doesn’t mean you need to bleed the brake fluid. Bleeding the brake fluid is when you’re changing or flushing the fluid. You shouldn’t have to do that at all when you’re replacing pads and rotors. The key thing is to cycle your brake pedal several times before putting it in drive to allow the booster to equalize the brake fluid in the lines.

    you don't put brake greese between the pads and the sliver plate. you put it in the caliber bolts.

    Bad spot to put those jack stands those spots are for stock car jack … under weight they can bend … did it one time on an old passenger car and they bent inwards

    Странная Тойота. Тормозная система обычная, как на третьем поколении. Тем не менее, на моем Рав4 2.0 awd 2007 года я поставил стойки, алюминиевую цапфу и тормоза на двухпоршневых суппортах с пятого поколения. Подошла болт в болт. Теперь интересует задняя тормозная система, вентилируемая в идеале.

    You should have your brakes done at a dealer. 500 bucks assures this complicated procedure is performed right. 49 bucks for pads seems.like a bargain til you have to loosen 2 bolts, than you realize wish I would have spent an extra 450 for literally nothing
