- A physical offence team againts suikoden 2 final boss. No cheat, no stone and not even kindness rune bug was used. But fortune rune trick was employed to get everyone to lv99.

lol, I made a spreadsheet calculating all characters' average stats at Lv.60, using their non-removable gear if applicable (no stat enhancing gear worn otherwise) and then calculating the best damage output rune combination: Kindness (+127 ATK), Fury (+50% ATK), Double-Strike for +50% final damage, Double Beat for a double attack. No surprise, the top 5 best characters are those with 4 runes slots open :D And then Viktor is the next best with 3 runes open + awesome ATK. Valeria is right next if you don't factor in Critical averaged damage (since double beat allows for two crit chance in a row, compared to Falcon never ever critting). Results:
Sheena: 790 * 2 (no crits), 979 * 2 (average dmg factoring 12% crit chance) = 1958
Killey: 787 * 2 (no crits), 960 * 2 (factoring in 11% crit chance) = 1920
Chaco: 732 * 2 (no crits), 907 * 2 (factoring in 12% crit chance) = 1814
Sid: same as Chaco
Hai Yo: 745 * 2 (no crits), 894 * 2 (factoring in 10% crit chance) = 1788
Rina: 688 * 2 (no crits), 839 * 2 (factoring in 11% crit chance) = 1678
Gangetsu: 688 * 2 (no crits), 825 * 2 (factoring in 10% crit chance) = 1650
Tir Mc Dohl (Suikoden 1 hero): (3 runes) 602 * 2 (no crits), 794 * 2 (factoring in 16% crit chance) = 1588
Riou (Suikoden II hero): (3 runes) 587 * 2 (no crits), 786 * 2 (17% crit chance) = 1572
Sigfried (lol) (2 runes: Fury + Double Beat ofc): 648 * 2 (no crits), 777 * 2 (10% crit chance) = 1554
Viktor (3 runes): 612 * 2 (no crits), 758 * 2 (12% crit chance) = 1516
Then you have Jowy, Flik, Lorelai, Nanami, Tomo, Tsai, Kinnison, Nina, Kahn, Ayda, Futch, Ellie, Tengaar, Yoshino, ranging from 1138 to 1470 in two hits, factoring in 10-16% crit chance.
Valeria is the first on the list using a Rune Command after at 1114 dmg, 0% crit chance using Rune Commands. (with a Kindness - Fury combo).

But this turns out to be pretty similar, despite flaws in damage calculations, to the 2005 IczR1 tier list.
kevinsephiroth Crit chance is [ TECH + (LUCK/2 ) ] / 16, not [ ( TECH + LUCK ) / 2 ] /16 by the way. Meaning people with average 106-125 TECH & LCK have a 10% crit chance and those with uber 183/161 average TECH & LUCK (at Lv.60, add +20 to stats for Lv.99 average but without using the PSP bug or a gameshark code, have fun leveling to 99) like Tir McDohl, Jowy, Riou etc have 16-17% crit chance max.
If you manage to get 255 TECH & LUCK, the crit chance would be 23%. The maths are integer meaning it truncates any decimal, even if it is 23.999 for ex
kevinsephiroth While it is possible to farm Fury, Double-Strike & Double Beat runes, you can only hold one Kindness (+127 ATK), Exertion (+20% atk per turn, making it better after turn 2 if you have +300 ATK baseline) & one Friendship rune (max +55 ATK or so with all 108 stars + some beasts)... Then you gotta use Thunder or Rage runes for +50 % final DMG, sadly, not even accounting for Elemental resistances ( half final damage done) or worse, immunities (= 0 damage done lol), those are worse than Kindness, cause the +127 ATK is then taken into account by Fury Rune (+50% ATK total in Berserk). Though not by much. In the case of no resistances, Thunder & Rage are better than Friendship & Exertion (unless you drag the fight past the 2nd turn. Then Exertion would be better.

casting speed in S2 is very simple. Offensive spells will be cast based on 1x SPD of your character but if it's a supportive spell, it will be based on 1.3x SPD. For ex: Badeaux's SPD=100 Sigfried's SPD=125, when both cast same spells, Sigfried will go first for sure but if you let Badeaux casts Howling-support magic- while Sigfired casts flaming arrow-offensive magic- then 100*1.3 > 125 so Badeaux will act before Sigfired.In case both have same SPD, turns will be determined by party slot order.
The whole Jowston Alliance needed to take down the Highland, and two pans enough to kill an incarnation of the Beast Rune :D
core= 3300 HP, each head =4800hp. You would just need 2 members to kill the Core. Riou's Forgiver's sign and the 2nd character casts unite magic water/lightning. So the task now is to have 4 members to wipe 9600 left in total. Note that you will hit the heads for 0 damage if the Core wasn't destroyed, and the heads have some nasty elemental resistance.
like i got a spinach seed from a monster drop....but then i gave two spinach seeds to tony so it counts as one....so i was wondering if i can get another spinach seed from the monster again

yea, you need S1 save to get Mcdohl in S2. What do you mean by "seeds"?
i was playing suikoden v last night, one of my party member, belcoot, dealt critical and multi attack simultaneously when he was using falcon rune. he dealt around 9500-9700 damage 3 times. more than 27.000 total damage. it was really amazing. maximum damage allowed in game is only 9999, but he dealt almost 3 times of the allowed max damage. he got beyond the damage limit
nice, but it was purely luck to have such event occurs. We will hardly able to see that happens again. In theory, Miakis should be able to perform 5 consecutive hits with 7.5k damage each (being triple crit) :)), but I never see it as the chance is too low. Btw, why are you commenting about S5 in a S2 video :v ?

He shown his stats at the end so I didn't see any abnormalities, if it's about Riou's SPD then that's might be because of Gale rune that buffed it up. His party members dealt good damage with Empty World because of their nice affinity with the element.

Haiyo is an exception, he has to reach level 65 in order to get his 3rd rune slot.
and you still consider getting the stones from rope climbing good or is it cheating to you?
I don't have enough space in youtube message to analyze. But for short, they are the strongest 3 rune slotters in the army so it's easy to boost their damage by filling the runes with damage modifier for them. Other alternative choices would be Rina,Gantetsu,Kahn. Or if you care to use unite attacks, Sierra+Bolgan+Bob can form the strongest single target attack, Flik+Viktor or Wakaba+LCC are pretty good. But overall, they arent as strong as the 5 guys in the video.
i was speaking in gamer's view, so it's name perhaps the other way around, left head is the one on our right and right head is the one on our left.
Killey is a badass.
exertion is good for long battle, but so so in the one-turn style gaming.Thunder/rage is very good for battles that end quickly but we gotta check enemies elemental resistance. Kindness rune will be crazy strong if its glitch is abused(well, I always avoid bugs+glitches if possible), otherwise it's so so. Friendship is slightly worse than exertion. I used them anyway because of my impatience, Thunder and Rage runes are too rare to farm for everyone.

He can although, it just depend on a little bit of luck with the random growth because his magic growth is slightly better than Riou who also almost has a second level 4 spell at that level. By the wat, you can legally farm for magic stones from the rope climbing game.

you're mixing it up with S1 & S4. In S2 you can switch the weapon runes as you please with no risk of losing the previous rune.

i played on pc through emulation, if you can set it up then looking for english rom from google search should be extremely easy
there're some video about this trick(not mine). Btw you can actually do it without Fortune rune, but it will be more complicated so I can't explain through YT message.

yes, from level 60->99, you won't gain much stats anyway. Check the stats growth chart on suikosource website for example.
where did u find the 6 fury runes? i think you can have only 2 in the game. one from l'renouille,and one from the guardian deity.
You can buy them the first time you enter Muse city bought 3pcs i just got lucky. You need to save before coming to the rune npc coz it appears to be random.

Sorry for asking a unrelated question to video, Is there anyway to boost Valeria's Falcon rune damage with Double strike or warrior rune? And does luck+tech improves chances of valeria's 2nd attack of falcon's rune? (the one she charges right through instead of fencing multiple attacks)
yes, falcon rune damage can be boosted with either fury rune, double strike rune or warrior rune. But the 2nd attack isn't a critical hit but more like a different version of the rune (like some unite attacks have their alternate version) so it doesnt depend on any stat like regular critical hits,sorry there's nothing we can do to boost that rate.

k cool thanks. I used to try a team of 'special' runes like Zamza, Valeria, Anita, Oulan, but their attack simply stinks. You know... after u completed the game, u feel like trying new stuffs.... hence why i didnt go for your team and Magic team(Mazus Luc Rina Teengar Flik).
Zamza is stucked with Fire sealing, Valeria and anita has only 1 spare slot, Oulan with fury.... Gave them Friendship to boost rune attack but no avail, damage is not comparable to a stinky pesmerga(coz he only got 1 rune slot).
Any new styles to recommend to play? Feel like playing SuikoII all of a sudden.
Please don't recommend Riou Mcdohl the 2 clowns(vincent and simone), Hanna and Oulan, Tried this team before, took over 10 turns to beat True beast rune with Unite attack =P
How did you get 2 * Power Ring? I thought there's only one exist in the game (found in Tinto)

Bah, i can't kill Beast Rune in one turn, always lack 1 attack to kill it. My killey's physical attack always miss, resulting in only 300+ fire damage from Rage rune embedded in weapon. Any idea how to fix this?
what did you equip Killey with? And did he hit the head that resists fire?

Skill Ring Luck Ring Power Ring and no , i hit the other head. his first attack always miss even when fighting highland soldiers. It's not entirely miss, theres rune effect but no physical damage. had to bring valeria to replace killey for 1 turn kill boss. Didn't realize Falcon rune can crit. It crit the boss for 3k+ (first rune attack, not the special one). I think I'm quite unlucky also coz my haiyo's stats is alot lower than yours(even with 2 skill ring equipped his attack completely miss often), so i brought Lorelai instead, her stats quite decent.
with physical offence you can't do anything to make it a 100% OTKO unless you abuse the bug from kindness rune but I'd prefer to stay away from it, a bug is a bug by any mean. You may want to copy the strategy of the guy who spam Blue Gate, that's a good method to end the battle in 1 turn.(The real reason I need my characters at level 99 is to get them crit hit more often)

you must unlock the best ending, save 108 heroes until the end (especially prevent Nanami from dying in Rockaxe arc)
Also, be careful when you recruit animals. Abizboah/Sigfried & Feather are counted 108 SoD while Rulodia & Chuchara aren't.
you can buy it from Muse in the rare find list . I did Mathilda glitch early game so i had enough money to buy 6 fury runes right at my first and second time to Muse.
Can you explain how to get 6 fury runes..? I only got 1 in muse city rare find magic..
it's absolutely fair, I'm just saying players usually use the stones glitch(which is likely cheating) then claim that they were farming stones from rope climbing game.

All characters except riou have 3 slot empty so you can put everything like double beat, double strike and fury

imo the critical hit from sid is the crucial thing on having the one turn kill in this video...

just download a save file from S1 gamefaqs or suikosource. then insert that one into your emu memory card, start New Game in S2 then you should be fine.

You can take one from Long Chen Chen, the other Power Ring can be obtained from a mining cart in Tinto village.
And yes, legal physical performance will have to rely on some critical hit to OTKO this boss, that's why i need everyone at lv99 for a higher crit chance(tech+luck). Another legal way to power up your team further is to farm for Power stone from Rope climbing game.

fury: get money then use Rare find refreshment trick in muse shop

i mean farming for enough potch so you can afford to buy the runes from shop
how about "refreshment trick" I don't get it. Fury is very important in the last battle.
it means after you bought the fury rune. Wait or do something for 30 mins (real time ) outside of the shop then save your game. Now check shop again to see if there's new fury rune to buy, if not, just reload until there is.
both are trouble, lefty is strong against fire and the righty is strong against lightning.
here is what i got from the video...not saying bad to it..I AM STILL YOUR BIGGEST FAN..anyways
the rune core has 3600hp...with Riou using Bright Shield that 2100 we still need 1500hp left for the rune core...all the other characters deals around 1200 damage each without crits....so it takes 3 characters just to kill the core...plus each head has 4000hp...
so right now trying to i am figure out how to get a 1 turn kill without the crits..need your help pal :D

gantetsu, rina have worse physical stats growth. Gantetsu even suffers from his low weapon growth(rod for mage).
