This was very popular in the 70s . Santana became famous after their iconic performance of their original song SOUL SACRIFICE in which they performed while tripping on acid because they were scheduled to play at night but instead were called upon early in the day to play. They had taken acid thinking that it would wear off before evening but the schedule was changed unexpectedly. The performance was epic in intensity and passion and was lauded as one of the best performances at WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL (1969 I think).
Más Santana! Más Queen también! Jiji Otras canciones bien conocidas peor que no te he visto reaccionar Gary Moore - Still got the blues for you, también Gimme one reason versión en vivo de Tracy Champan ft Eric Clapton! ❤
That early Santana band was so incredible and influential, and sooo young! Carlos was just 23 when they recorded Abraxas. So much great music. Love Black Magic Woman.
Mysterious and hypnotic. Such an iconic sound from Carlos Santana. Even though was another's song, it will be remembered as Santana's. Great musical elements that never gets old. Love the transitions, guitar drums and bass work so well in concert and the percussion, pure genius. Enjoyed watching your reaction and thoughtful perspective. Fun fact, before founding Journey, Neil Schon was a guitarist in Santana. Another fun fact, Carlos Santana opened a restaurant here in San Diego called Maria, Maria 😅.
Love your take on this one, Jill but I have to disagree. I knew the Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac (the original Fleetwood Mac) version and always think of that one first. Fleetwood Mac back then were a blues rock band and very different from the version of the band most people think of. I do love this one but I have a soft spot for Peter Green - both versions are worth hearing. I really enjoyed your reaction, Hap. 💕
Don't forget Greg Rolie, the singer and keyboard player in Santana and founder of Journey too. Greg doesn't get a lot of credit. He is very underated IMO. Essentially, Perry was a back up for Journey in the beginning.
@@debra7105Journey was not as good withouut Greg..still made good music. I prefer the first three Journey albums He is one of the few people in the HOF twice..with two groups!.
My interpretation is that the woman is putting a love spell on him. Black Magic in terms of a spell. You hear the guitar, piano, drums, bongos, cymbal, so clearly you hear every individual instrument and I enjoyed the bass in this, it was phenomenal, too. Carlos is one of those special elite guitarists that instantly you know who you're listening to. Check out their Woodstock concert. Thanks for the reaction, Hap. I'm glad you enjoyed it. CHEERS!
The original was written and performed by Fleetwood Mac in 1967, when they were still an english blues band. It was the title track of their double album.
Great reaction!! Really hard NOT to move with this track!! I just want to grab my lady and tango! I knew this version before I heard the Fleetwood Mac original (which should also be checked!) Santana gave it the Latin groove that makes it such a unique and beautiful cover! The whole Abraxas album is fire! Cheers from Canada, eh!
Santana, one of the greats imo🤩. Hypnotising and fascinating performance. You can just close your eyes and feel transported somewhere. Great reaction HAP☺️🙋🏻♀️.
My favourite song by Santana has always been "Maria Maria" (ft. The Product G&B), that's when I first heard of him. But "Black Magic Woman" is definitely a classic! I haven't paid attention to the lyrics or instrumental nuances before but that's why we are here, learning about new music. Or simply getting new perspective on "old" songs. Appreciate the reaction! 👍😊
Great band and vocals...the singer/keyboards Greg Rolie went on with later Santana member, Neal Schon, to formJourney! Great guitars, and drummer (Michael Schrieve). Great Latin, jazz, fusion.
Did you know that this was first a hit by the Peter Green led Fleetwood Mac? Fleetwood Mac started out as a Blues band. That changed when Peter Green became a born again Christian and left the band to become a disciple of Christ. Something he still does to this day. Santana got a hold of it. I think this song was played at Woodstock in 1969, or it was on their first album. I can't quite remember. So it must have been re-released 4 years ago.
Add this one to the list of songs that run though my head before I even start the video. Sorry I haven't commented on the last few videos. Weird computer issues that seem to be ok now?!? I did watch though 😃
HAP is so handsome
I love Santana!! Phenomenal artist and guitar player!! True to his roots as well 🌻

Michael Shrieve's drumming was other worldly.
Awesome. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!

It's definitely a vibe. I've never heard this before. As always, Hap, loved your thoughts and reaction. ✌️ ☮️ 🥷

Great upbeat, puts you in a good mood, party vibe tune also good for dancing!! 💃🕺 Thanks Hap, great reaction!💜🎵
The term, "black magic", refers to occult practices like voodoo, among other examples.
The singer on this is Gregg Rollie who went on to form Journey ❤
My favorite Santana song!

Hooked from the first second ❤ it's a fabulous album

Zana, you spoke my words. Agree 💯, even with „Maria, Maria“ which happens to be my favourite too 🤩🙋🏻♀️.
