Gives me tears... so long ago and so many children had a Disneyland childhood - thanks to beloved Uncle Walt and his fantastic team of Imagineers ! Thanks Walt!
I remember the new stuff that Disneyland in the 1955's, Frontierland was a barren land, just like the badlands, and the old frontier..there was a smell and quality that has been in my heart and in my mind..I love it..open from 10.am untill 10..pm..closed on Mondays..
Maybe it was because of the fast workers, and slow eaters, or maybe it was the music and Walt's narration, or maybe both, but I just couldn't stop laughing and smiling at the construction footage.
You know what I realized in Iron Man 2 after watching this progress video of Disney World: Howard Stark- Walt Disney Stark Expo Opening- Disneyland Stark Expo Progress report- This video!!!
interesting 2-parter.....you know that when good'ole Walt was walking those steps thru the orange groves, plotting out Dismal-land (as we used to call it when i worked there almost 2 decades ago), he was merely acting for the cameras....eh? good promo shot & good copy for the press.......yep, the Tragic Kingdom.....
I wish Walt Disney and his brother Roy Disney also had an entire Walt Disney World Resort built over 27,258 acres (11,031 ha; 43 sq mi) in Anahiem in California with the exact same parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot) and resort hotels just like when Walt Disney's brother Roy Disney had an entire Walt Disney World Resort built over 27,258 acres (11,032 ha; 43 sq mi) of land in Orlando in Florida, that way it would definitely save quests and visitors the trouble of both the travel and the money of not having too book an out-of-state flight from California to Florida and also not have to leave their home state of Calofornia where they were born and raised. that is what i would've had done if i was in Walt Disney's and Roy Disney's shoes!
Oh my God when I hear Jimminy Cricket singing "when you wish upon a star" I get goose bumps!!

This is so cool! My dad was one of the construction workers! Thanks for sharing this with us! :-)
You have no proof lol. I can say my dad was the first human and my mom was the first women lol.
Without then humans wouldn't exist today lol
I really appreciate you posting this--much obliged!

Walt Disney talking like a Hippy, Priceless!
This is great Disneyland History, thanks!
55+ years later, still real popular
Hehe I have no idea how you could doubt the city hall was a skyscraper in 1955. GREAT video
I love this show. Ferris Wheel for Worms :) Disney was hilarious!

Fun video.
very good
It's a timeless classic. As long as Disney doesn't screw it up it'll always be the happiest place on earth.
Damn I wish Disney Channel still did this. :(
"We could go by car, of course. It's a pleasant, 50-minute drive across town."
Good ol' Uncle Walt forgot he was in L.A. again.

yup.
There were preliminary plans for a WestCOT, but it was shot down.
really that's so cool
R.I.P Walt Disney
It's hard to believe that it was built in a year, and basically with no money. I can't imagine the pressure Walt must have felt during construction.
This is how I remember the org.park..
4:17 no parking problems...
that is the coolest thing ever
8:22-8:26 Go, man! Go, go! Dig it deep and throw it far out!
