I think you were wonderful to put out this video. My son has trouble understanding his 'label.' I love your approach on how you bring people to understand the pro's and con's of being aspie..... you are a breath of fresh air! Can't wait to show my son! Awesome! I wish you all the best ... you meet all your goals! I bet you will!
Thanks so much for posting this. My daughter is only 6 rt now, but this seems to put into words what she can't yet explain to me . . . p.s. your music covers are fantastic =) Best wishes to you.
Hi, my son is 13 and I had him watch this video, and it was good for him to know he isn't alone an that you gave him some hope for the future. Thanks for that! We live in NY, USA, and Good luck in all you do.
Hey Stephen, your life reminds me so much of myself. Like every single thing you just said! Except I'm grown up at 32, and didn't find out I had autism until late in life so never received help for it. Life is tough, and ppl view me as weird because I don't like to tell anybody that I have autism, although a few know. I ask for zero sympathy, but I feel like I'm getting deeply left behind in this world :( Wish you the best in life my friend!!! I'll check up on you from time-to-time.
Yeah, I can relate to that. I myself did get high marks in my maths GCSE but I only rely on the basics to get by in life and it really wasn't one of my favourite subjects back at school. I preferred other subjects. As you said, I too thought things would not get better for me when I was a teenager. Also, from the age of the 16 (I'll be 22 in two months) , I've got better in some social aspects too - I may come off as weird sometimes but I use it as a way to make people laugh.
Yes, I definitely can. My fucked up decisions, attitude and my naive, obsessive feelings of attachment got me mercilessly ripped apart from random groups of people back at school and outside :/
I also was always the best kid in my class at math and spelling growing up. But I can tell you one thing... I have gotten substantially better over the years, as far as the awkwardness and shyness. When I was your age I didn't really know if there was a hope to my darkness.
I know completely how you feel with those anger spells. Once, I had to get taken out of my english classroom because I yelled at other students and threw my pencil bag at the wall. Talk about bad timing.
Lol that sounds like me. I mean I know I have flaws in my character but I compensate by using positive aspects of my character. I realise it now but not when I was younger , because whenever I tried to express my emotions - they didn't come out the right way and people viewed it as attention seeking. I guess they were right in a few aspects lol
True say, I suppose. Being 17 would have too be my highlight making some good new friends and seeing drastic changes in my life than I was when I was a kid. I seemed to have picked up on peoples body language where I've not really understood so much of it before and as far as I know, it's not so much draining although unfortunately, I tend to attract negative attention because of vulnerability, I dunno if you could relate to it? (by the way, I'm Hyperdude0123456 using my new channel now).
@300359alann thanks bro - funny thing is - today as I was catching the bus to the chip shop, I saw one of the people from my past - a girl I tried to make friends with /get with ages ago and seeing her again brought back a lot of memories - not good ones :(
@lu4y4pants yeh i got pissed off and depressed over stuff I did in the past and like I used to get easily wound up (not so much now) and cos I'm not that strong, I used to yell and smash up stuff :/
@TallandAsian89 yeh that happened to me when I was younger - didnt really make friends till I was 16 and couldn't really trust people till I went uni hahah
I also forgot to mention that I also made more mates because my outside mates from primary school knew the mates I made in secondary (high) school in a place called camden lock amongst other places xD
Hey Stephen, how you doin man? Yeah I wish somehow ppl understood, my father & mother even always tried to deny the medical facts given to them that I had autism, as if I was retarded or something and they couldn't acknowledge it. You mention at 1:48, I also had a habit of playing with things (like twirling objects) when I daydreamed too LOL, it was really worse when I was a kid. And my family and folks thought I'm weird. I wish there was an easy way to tell ppl that I have autism tho.
@JailbaitBandUK indeed and i got this video reviewed by an autism site if you look under the 838 views - aspergersmom or summat. Plus I'll be making another piano cover at xmas and a vocal cover hopefully xD
@micheals1992 jheeze exactly its like I can't fucking help the way I talk - people need to get over themselves and grow up. That's what you need to tell em - you should talk to people about how youre feeling rather than bottling this in. Also thanks for watching the vlog, I may make more but I mainly make music covers - please check em out :)))

You should make part 2 of this video after your experience of leaving home and going to uni!
I know completely how you feel with those anger spells. Once, I had to get taken out of my english classroom because I yelled at other students and threw my pencil bag at the wall. Talk about bad timing.
I've never considered you weird mate, only considered you as one of my best mates :D
Go Stephen!
Thanks - glad to know this video helped :)

@benjikane83 thanks for that - i may consider making more blogs apart from doing covers all the time :)
@TallandAsian89 yeh that happened to me when I was younger - didnt really make friends till I was 16 and couldn't really trust people till I went uni hahah
@Hyperdude0123456 true... you only really learn things the hard way and THEN things get a lot easier in terms of socialising with others lol
I also forgot to mention that I also made more mates because my outside mates from primary school knew the mates I made in secondary (high) school in a place called camden lock amongst other places xD
