    In all seriousness, I'm really happy for Les, his success, his career, and his music. It's kind of a shame he hasn't done much with his musical talents, but hell, it's mentioned on his Wikipedia page, and that's almost as good.
    Congrats, Les, and thanks for the fun and for having a name that's impossible to misspell.

Reading your post again, it's obvious that you were merely being sarcastic. Very sorry for misreading what you wrote. :-) I'm a huge fan of Les Stroud and having just listened to an hour long blog interview of his the other night, I was blown away but what a truly humble and multi-faceted guy he truly is. He's an inspiration. Cheers. :-)

    Les actually tested leaves in one episode, he would wipe these leaves on his arms to see if he broke out in a rash. If he did, he didn't use those leaves, trial and error. Just use green leaves and they won't break.

    I'm sorry everyone but you just can't compare Survivorman to Man vs. Wild. Survivorman is based upon surviving in a certain location for a given amount of time. Man vs. Wild is based upon taking on amazing challenges which one would probably not undertake in a normal situation. The entertainment of Bear's show is not necessarily around the simple survival, but based on the insane situations/activities he does. They are both entertaining shows but cannot be simply compared fairly.

    Love LS's show (it's 2020 now). I've also heard of Urban Survival as a show. I don't know if anyone has bean dropped in a real urban environment for TV. Something like Wilderness Guy gets dropped in Ferguson MO during the turmoil with no ID or "identity" as far as the POS cops know. So, make it Rwanda.

    It's not just about the surviving skills and all that.
    The amazing scenery, all the new wild places they all visit are fantastic to watch.
    Les Stroud, Bear Grylls, Ray Mears, Les Hiddins, the dudes from Dual Survival or
    Man Woman Wild, Lars Monsen are all brilliant and can't wait to see new episodes of any of their adventures.
    I don't care of their styles, just keep up the good job, you all covered much of the planet's wilderness but there is a lot more out there to see.

    @MeatPopsicleHomey everyone KNOWS that... It's almost like Bear is taking you on a field trip to show you shit. Don't think that he doesn't know what he's talking about though. Les and Bear are both survival experts. They just have different ways of teaching everyone the art of survival. One survives alone and films it, the other takes you on a "field trip" if you will...

    bear spent 3 yrs in the sas so he is more than capable of surviving in any situation but he is making a adventure show with a big crew so needs a base to plan & work from he cant expect the crew to live in a real survival situation coz of the logistics involved but bear would out class les in a real situation

    @JakobsEarth You dont have to take my word for it. I urge you to watch all of his "survivorman" shows. sometimes he does well, other times simply terribly.
    I think the name was "ed wardle on "alone in the wild" though i may be getting him mixed up. It was on Ch4 (UK) last year
    How on earth did i state my opinion as absolute truth?? And how would you possibly argue against the notion that you have done just that, if you uphold the idea that i have done so?

  • @MrWonderspyder
    @MrWonderspyder 13 років тому

    Regardless if his show is fake or not, there's always reality that will happen after any amount of time in where he has been. Most people wouldn't dream of doing the things that he's done or the work he puts into it while in these environments. He's giving valuable lessons that most didn't know which might stick in our minds if (ever) in somewhat the same situation. To me, he's a good man, that is probably more of a man then half the men in the goddamn civilized world.
