GSWR abandoned it sometime in the '90s. There are old crossing signals like these in Lumpkin, Ga. The north/south main was ripped out in the '90s between Cusseta and Cuthbert, Ga.
I loved the wooden wishbone gates. Facinated me when I was a kid, don't know why. Wish they would make them again in fiberglass, but I don't think that will ever happen. Love seeing the old equipment. Have a nice day😊
I'm right there with you!!!!! The A-frame wooden crossing gates were awesome! They were so rugged looking! Many of the crossings in my hometown had them! Back in the 70s and 80s! My childhood memories!

I miss when old railroad crossings were still active before being decommissioned for newer tracks
Did they remove that abandoned track and abandoned railroad crossing and replace it with a bicycle path?
Thankfully no.
It's a real shame that such nice historic equipment is just left to rot. These were some real nice signals back in the day!
I also notice there's a Sentry siren not too far from the crossing as well.
Yep. Believe it's a Sentry 16V1T-B.
The wooden gates would be Wishbone based on the style of the gate mounts
TBF, pretty much all of the wooden gates were wishbone-style.
How much you wanna bet that if you fired it up it would still work?
are these signals still there? I'm interested in restoring them to working order (if I manage to get out there😅).
I'd assume so.
Wishbone gates! Those are awesome
Nice to see a piece of railroad history
its cool because they still have 2 pieces of wood from the wishbone gate
Where is that
I literally state that within the first ten seconds of the video.
1:57 very nice " *CROSSING* " Whats it crossing? Nobody knows! XD
There’s also a sentry siren
I'm aware.
I’ve seen this crossing on google earth, tome it looks like it last saw a train like 30 years ago
Really cool.
