Great video.Turnouts are a lovely boot. I have a pair that are 22 years old.Admittedly they are showing their age now. Yes they are a large investment upfront but if you work out cost per year they are great value. Also for me while I have purchased boots from overseas with success there is a lot to be said to be able to try and buy boots of this quality in pretty much every town in Australia, and there is nothing else of comparable quality or range that competes in that regard.
Hi Teik , Love your videos , have you ever had a pair of the Tambo ? , Would they be better if I'm finding my toes getting a bit restricted in the standard comfort craftsman , I see the Tambo says it has a wide chisel toe , Thanks Will ,NZ
I have a pair of RM Turnouts ( Black) with a Vibram Lug sole. They are soft and supple and the shiny leather looks classy with business or casual outfits. Another great review. Thanks, Teik.
I have a pair. For me, they are more comfortable than my 'comfort' craftsman. It's also in Bordeaux colour (distress leather), which they do not do anymore.
Greeting Teik. Two thing I want to point out. The poron insole is attached on top of a texon leather board. Not veg-tan leather insole. Source "Choosing the right Craftsman" on UA-cam. There is also a picture of a Comfort Craftsman cut in half on r/RMWilliams subreddit, in courtesy of Wootten, showing the leather board insole. These boots aren't hand lasted, or at least not anymore. There will be the word "hand lasted" imprinted if the boot was actually hand lasted. Find these special one is a pain though, I ever saw one on marketplace and they're the really old model. The newer one are machine lasted, which explains why the leather is quite thin. Great review as always Teik! I wanted to ask if it’s definitely still a veg tan insole under the memory foam? A local cobbler said he tends to see fiberboard on the comfort range?
I’m not sure! I felt around the edges inside and felt a thick square edge that felt as stiff as veg tan. However, I bought this New Dead Stock and I’ve also heard fibreboard is used in current models. But IMHO I don’t really have a problem with that. Unlike Rose Anvil, I think fibreboard has suitability in certain uses like sweat absorption and quick re-drying.
Have you done reviews of Ian Harold boots? I owned two pairs of RM Williams and sold them and replaced with Ian Harold, in my humble opinion they are better than RM Williams, more comfortable, better built, and wear better.
Nice video, and Turnouts are my fave of the RM Chelsea boots. Unfortunately, RM Boots are no longer hand lasted, they are machine lasted, in fact most of the boot is made by machines... I do cherish my older pairs that are hand lasted!

I have exactly the same boots and am proud of the compliments I get. I keep them highly polished and they look great with business or casual clothes.

Boot channels have ruined me. My Red Wing briar mocs were the LAST straw.
