Nice to see the D&L still going strong! Wish I could find some ALCOs. I'm in Southside Virginia. CSX Norfolk and Southern and some short lines. Always run EMDs or GEs. Grew up at the CSX main line; used to see toasted GEs all the time.
That mill must be pounding out the flour. That's a lot of cars and they make this run pretty often. I saw a lot of lumber cars, too. It's nice to see a lot of businesses taking advantage of the rail service that's available.
Considering how long the service lives on these old alcos have been I see no reason why resources and materials should be wasted making new locomotives every year.
Great video! Need the surround cranked for this one... Was it just my eyes or did the 4 lead units on DL3 not have their MU cables connected? The helpers did... hmmm.
Are other folks having issues with this video? I have tried watching it on mobile, DSL, and now a higher cable modem connection, and it starts buffering at the 1:36 mark.
I’m surprised that the unit in the first shot has a P2 because it actually sounds decent. Here out west the P2s sound like absolute garbage, but on the other hand, at least they do their jobs well, being annoying and all.
I have been trying to ask people and nobody seems to answer me. What are these unit's? These locomotives are very strange I don't know what they are. And I usually can tell what every locomotive Usually is. I'm curious about the Six axle locomotives and the two axle locomotives painted in that white color scheme I know the other units are alcos but what are these other ones? I don't know what they are and it's starting to really bother me. Does anybody know?
That white smoke really clears up after they've given them a workout and warmed them up
That’s a good K5H horn from BCrail 12:42
9:05 thats a LOT of smoke.
Hope to see more.
9:04 HAPPY EARTH DAY FROM ALCO!
12:45
2461's Ex BCOL's 811 K5L Still sounds amazing! Glad it's still in service today.
Those were very enjoyable 22 minutes, just love that Alco chug.
@Lawson Pablo Yea, I have been using flixzone for years myself :D
2461's BC Rail K5L still sounds fantastic!

It is but whats odd is that the mill was vacant of cars before DL3 showed up, which is strange.
@@Norfolk7130 see my comment, please. Thanks!
Really nice production!
Stunning video, thanks SO much for such a "quality" job!
Nice video of this shortline the backbone of railway.
Luv the Chug.👍
Did you see the sketters flying away at 10:13? Love that smoke....the essence of a good railroad video.
Grrreaat!!!🍻😀🇺🇸👍👍..nothing like ALCO in the Pocanos
Pocono's

Looks like Ex Hamersly Iron Alco SD50s from the 1970s
Western Australia?
Great video.
A shortline using pushers is bad to the bone.
“We’ve got the Soot,
Got the Soot,
Got the Soot,
Yeah!”
9:02 Do those engines even have compression anymore?
At-12:03 the locomotive Looks like steamer train And Deltic D9000 Class 40 UK.Cool
Where do they find parts for these things?
People still make parts for ALCo's surprisingly
ALCo engines are still being built in India, surprisingly.
Fairbanks-Morse engine is still making new parts for 251s.

Still works fine for me. I even logged out to view it and it played

It suddenly decides to change direction and back up. Maybe he forgot something and had to go back home.
9 minute mark. Im not sure that engine is working well. Ive never seen a diesel smoke like that!
3TE10U…. Those have *SOOT* to them.

It's cold and doesn't have any compression anymore. All that white smoke is unburned fuel.
Not an EMD in sight. The way its meant to be.
Two SD40s could have pulled that.
these locos are 50 plus years old which probably has something to do with it...lol
On flat ground maybe, given if they don't pop a crankcase button
As could 1 gevo....
