I have a 2010 Fusion and I found other Fusions have similar AC problems. Turning on headlights and check AC. I read others tried this and it worked for me. Just change the actuator. Also when aligning the actuator you will have to turn your AC on so the actuator aligns to the new actuator's position, it will only rotate with the actuator in place.
No No you don’t have to turn on anything to align the actuator. They have always aligned for me. Just click on and turn the door before attaching to the pins. You don’t have to turn anything on.

If I turn temp knob up a few clicks from full cold A/C works great. Turn it all the way counterclockwise cold and it stops. Would this be one of the notorious blend door issues where the cheap plastic gear breaks? Heater works great and I hear the door opening/closing as I turn knob clockwise to heat.
I just bought a new one and before I put it back together I just plugged it back n to be sure it would work and the actuator is not moving at all. Although when I plug the old one in it’s clicking on its own?
The blend door / blend door motor are different. The motor/actuator is the black thing that turns the door. The door is fixed to the hvac box under the dash. There is a small arm that connects the motor and door together. The door is not removable on its own, it’s built into the hvac box / ducting. The purpose is to turn the door into different positions this mixing hot and cold air together to make different temperatures besides full cold and full hot. Hope this helps.
Would this be the same for a 2012 focus hatch? Mine will blow air out dash vents when set to less than 70 but when over 70 degreees the air only comes out floor and defrost. Thanks.
Possibly. I would download the Forscan app from Forscan.org and get the required genuine ELM327 to USB adapter. With this free app and the cable you can do a HVAC test and bidirectional tests. That is the best way.
@@scottoconnor7270 right but you answered your own observation. This video is quite old so it wasn’t as prevalent then. But there is no educational value teaching someone to check one thing. You have to understand the system as a whole to properly diagnose a failure at any one point.
It is possible it could have too much r134a inside. You need to have it hooked up with a gauge set. Also is it blowing heat? Or just ambient temperature air? That makes a difference. You need to use a thermometer and check that out.
It’s the HVAC control module/panel. Motorcraft part number CCM113. Rockauto has is for $200. Look online you can find 5% off also. The reason it works in park is actually because your headlights are on automatic and when you drive outside in the light the headlights turn off. There’s a weird connection between the two and very common. Try turning your headlights on and fog lights on before starting the car. Then start the car the ac will work no problem and will not shut off. You can either just always drive with your headlights/fog lights on and you won’t have a problem or you can replace that part for $200-$233 total and install yourself. Easy to install

@@cptgigity check the mode door. It looks almost identical to the blend door. You can try removing it and manually turning it to see if that fixes your issue
I have the same problem. The AC works in park and sometimes speed below 30mph. When I drive faster, the AC blows hot. It sounds like you had no AC at speed.
Edward G so AC not working over 30 mph would have nothing to do with a blend door. A blend door is electronic. The refrigerant level or compressor problem would be what you’re experiencing.
Desmond Pinckney what do you mean hard enough? There are 3 systems that work individually. The blower that blows the air out. The heat makes it hot and the ac makes it cool. The temperature is heat/ac and air flow is blower motor. I have another video outlining how to check an air conditioning system on my channel.
Desmond Pinckney if it’s not blowing out the air then play around with the dial. Does the low function blow out low air. Does the high function blow out lots of air. The problem maybe is your blower motor or the blower motor resistor. The work together to make the air and change the speed of the air.
What do you think here: Dealer said they need to replace Evan Temp Sensor. It’s replaced but still having same issue. AC works for short amount of time then blows hot air. I can trick it by turning lights and fog lights on but that only works for a short while. Could it be the part you replaced?

@@code3responsevideos872 It is hot, as in like it is stuck in defrost. It is not "outside temp" hot. The compressor clutch is spinning while HOT air is blowing. I do not have the equipment to read the high and low side AC pressures, however, it is charged. Other fellas on YT have said that turning lights on tricks the computer into running the AC. Tonight, I replaced the HVAC control module, unit turns air on off and adjusts the temp, and that did not fix the problem. I also replaced the Blend door actuator the other day and that did not fix the problem. Kaylon Ferris if you remove the motor you can turn the blend door by hand. Turn it by all the way one direction. Check the temperature. Turn it the other direction and check the temp. If it is working reinstall the motor. You can turn the temp knob on the dash and be able to watch the motor turn the door in real time by looking under the dash.

I replaced every thing including my ac compressor my condenser came with accumulator one bad main ac line go's too ac compressor on my 06 Lincoln Zephyr accept the blend door motors and the inlet accurator motor my ac blew cold for a little bit than all a sudden the compressor kicked off and never turned on again
Michael Holm you need to do electrical checks at the fuse and relay. Check the pressure to make sure you have enough R134a. It’s complicated but I have another video on my channel about AC. Watch that one too
@@code3responsevideos872 I did all that fixed the compressor still other problems In my 06 Lincoln Zephyr I put a new ac compressor condenser and main ac line too compressor Freon R134a found out my clutch wasn't turning on found out the fuse was good the problem was the holder for the fuse was stretched out squeezed it together tight okay that fixed the compressor now it turns on now it seams the air isn't as cold as it should be what's wrong with my ac another thing if I drive fast my ac try's too get colder what the flip is wrong with it
Michael Holm how did you charge the AC? It has to vacuumed and charged exactly to the correct poundage. If it’s off or not vacuumed it will not work. Also check the cooling fans and the cabin air filter
@@code3responsevideos872 I fixed every thing yesterday got the cooling fan too work just like new I had too bend the original cooling fan wire plug pins that fixed that and also it fixed the ac clutch bent the pins in the fuse box too make the 10amp fuse fit tightly in it if your wondering how I did it with out a vacuum well simple every thing is new on it accept under the dash and too lines and sensors all original too i used a Gage and now my ac is working perfectly I am pretty good at following instruction and read up a lot so solved my problem it is BS too use a vacuum all that dose it check for leaks witch I have no leaks in my system. My car had an option for a cabin filter but it has none in it cost too much too put that option in it. For Got too Menchem I rest my computer by taking off the battery cables and holding the positive too the negative wire for around 30 minutes too make sure the computer erased .
so in the first part of the video you showed us the blend door was working because the thermometer was changing but you replaced the actuator anyway...... why ? looks to me typical mechanics screwing their customers. unless the lady said replace it anyway would be the only reason to do this....
So #1 this isn’t a customer car. #2 it was working when I looked at it, but the owner (my aunt) said it would randomly go hot. I never got it to mess up. The reason I changed the actuator was because I eliminated all other possibilities. The bad blend door is the only remaining outcome.
It's been a year, any update as to whether or not the problem ever came back or if the problem was solved by replacing the blend door actuator? I have a 2012 fusion that is having similar issues and i'm thinking of just throwing a new actuator in as it's easy and cheap. My fusion AC works temporarily but then goes to full heat in a matter of minutes. I'm trying to sell the car ASAP as it's been replaced but would like to leave the next owner with working AC. One way to confirm is to clamp off the heater hose with pliers then do you knob test and see if anything changes or not

Yea the clicking is the worm gear inside that’s broken. Not sure why the new one isn’t moving I would install it and try it then

Yes that’s exactly what a blend door does.
You can always go to the blend door as shown in this video, unplug it and remove it. You can turn it manually and feel the temperature move

Depends if you have dual temperature controls. If you do then you have 2. If one knob does both sides then you only have 1
What was size of the socket you used to take it off and can you please confirm the part number?

Have same car 1,2,3 dont work when on that setting on 4 it blows but nothing on any other setting any idea?

If you turn the knob 2 notches back grom coldest setting it opens the blender door again. Definitely a problem with these vehicles
