Forests Underwater, the biggest nature aquarium in the world by Takashy Amano. Oceanarium Lisbon

Aquascaping master Takashi Amano left an extraordinarily impressive legacy behind. “Forests Underwater ”, the biggest freshwater nature aquarium in the world, was one of his last works, he poured his soul into it and it shows. Visiting it is a special experience.
- 40 meters of vegetation with attention paid to the smallest detail; a perfectly balanced ecosystem where fish are swimming freely and vivid plants are growing in a healthy and lush way.
- U-shaped aquarium with a volume of 160m3, 40m long, 2.5m wide and 1.45m deep
- The aquarium holds 12 tons of sand, 25 tons of volcanic rock and 78 tree trunks
- In this tank we can find more than 10,000 tropical fresh water fish of 40 different species and more than 40 species of plants.
