Thanks for the advice!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
What were the state regulations you had to follow?
rented a kitchen? what do you mean
@@a.1365 she rented a commercial kitchen
I’m trying to find the answers on how you start selling from home? Do you need a permit? I’m so lost at this 😩
I thought it said fail in the background 😩😩
I mean she no longer has her bakery so 🤷🏻♀️.
@@ellec.5101 That could have a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with how her business is set up. A lot of small businesses had to quit this year because of low income thru corona... People hardly order anymore, no parties or events that they need baked goods for. Its sad. Her business model and suggestions are still great.
@@ellec.5101 Okay nvm. I just checked and she already closed a year ago
@@kenzashenna business advice from someone who has to close there business is not business advice in my eyes. Plus there’s a lot of “advice” given that makes me cringe. I mean, to each there own but I would suggest taking some basic business classes first before giving out advice. I opened my bakery the 3rd month of the pandemic and have done extremely well. If you have items that are that good, people will always come, pandemic or not.
I thought so too until your comment made me look again 😆
Cost of goods + 14/h + 15% + 2.60 for the first mile and .65 1/4 over 1 mile + 7% state tax = Selling price.
15% is for the time and gas to source the ingredients and also overhead for things I buy for my home bakery.
I think your blog posts are super helpful. It has been helpful for me in figuring out how to go about starting a successful business
This video was extremely helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this!
Thank you so much for your honesty. I recently just started my own cupcake business and your video was very helpful.❤️
Thank you so much for your advice may your life be blessed with love light and abundance now and always!!
Thank God I found your video.
So happy knowing there's someone out there experience the same thing.
Feels like talking to myself.
Some issues make my mind open and came up an idea to continue my business.
Thank you
Kiss from Indonesia 😚😚
You shared a lot of things that often go overlooked. I am interested in starting a cookie business and am gathering ideas today. Thank you so much for posting this video.
Hi Emma, thanks this video! I'm a baker here in the Philippines, now I'm started my mind to plan to make home bakery soon😊
Thank you for taking the time to share! The information you provided is extremely helpful. 👍😊
For half the video I was trying to figure out why she had a sign that said “FAIL” behind her. Then realized it said fall.
Great video! Thanks!
Same! 😆
Same
Lol same 🤷♂️
Me too! Lol
Oh lol, ME TOO 🤪😆

You're definitely making sense. I enjoyed your video.
Probably the most informative video I've come across. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video!! I learned a lot!
Finally! Someone that knows what she is taking about. I see all these videos on how to start a video, but never get past that, they never give you the day to day, ins and outs of running a bakery from home. First off, I have to give you props on starting the business, it’s a big step even taking the leap of faith. That’s where I’m at right now taking that leap of faith to open it. I have friends and family always asking me to bake, cause they really like it. Anyways I digress, No one can tell you what to do, only you know why you want to continue it or shut it down it’s a big responsibility, everybody thinks it’s fun, but it’s not until you get a lot of orders and your running a one man operation is where it gets tricky. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences it helps a lot! I will check out your blog😁
This info has been extremely helpful, and I wish you much success in your future endeavors.
Your video was helpful. I have been watching other videos re home baking business and one stressed that its best to start out with one product first, do it really well, then branch out; and also once you establish a price for your product stick to that price as people don't like it when you increase your price, and also that decorated sugar cookies usually for special occasions (i.e., birthdays, baby or wedding showers, weddings, retirement) work best. Buying supplies in bulk was biggest takeaway for me today. Thank you Emma.
Very helpful tips! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm a new online bakery, I just "graduated" from a 14 year home bakery to commercial bakery and am always looking for learning experiences from others so thank you so much for sharing. I really hope to see more content from you, and just this video alone is going to change my perspective on my outreach. :)
cakedecor8 that’s awesome best of luck with everything!
Emma,
Your video is helpful.
I am getting into the bakery business with my grandkids.

Super helpful!!! Thank you!
This was so helpful!! I wish your blog was still up😭
Me too darn!
I am currently running my own home bakery that I started up about a year ago, but was only selling my products to friends and family around the holidays. I'm currently selling my bread at a local farmers market type grocery store where I work in the past month. It has been a great experience so far. This is a great video and I find myself experiencing the same type of things as Emma did. Figuring out the cost of what you sell your products for is probably the most awkward thing about running a business. You often sell yourself short, that's where a lot of self doubt comes in like "who in their right mind would buy said product for that much." these thoughts can be quite disheartening when trying to run a business, but I think that it's all part of the learning process. It's a shame that you had to stop your at home baking business. Thank you for the tips! Great Video.
My aunt had a similar trajectory - she now found that preorders/local pick ups was the best model for her and used Hotplate to handle the sales. Because she sells out in preorders, it makes her cashflow so much easier
Thanks for such a video ❤️
This video was really helpful on my start up idea😘😘😎😎
You made excellent sense. Appreciated
Great video !
You are fantastic. Thank you.
Thanks for all tge tips!
I’m having to run to the store to get strawberries for an order now 😩 lol definitely need to make trips more efficient and plan ahead 👌🏽
Oh and I’m a new subscriber 🥳
Helpful information. Thank you.
Thank you! This helped!!
Very sensible points!
Hi there I was wondering if you could make a back to basics for home bakers on how to properly store custom cakes and cupcakes. Your own advice and maybe what some bakeries do. ive just started my own business from home but I am always uncertain on if i should be putting frosted cupcakes in the fridge or not.. as well as cakes. please help!!! :) love your videos.
I really do appreciate your video so hopefully 👌
The worst part for me is finding ingredients at a better rate. After the pandemic, prices for flours have increased significantly
I am paying $1.70 for 450g of good flour currently.
Sweetly informative
Very much helpful!
Thank you for sharing!
So informative thanks
Thanks Emma ......
This was nice... thank you
Very insightful! I hope your channel really takes off! I'll be checking your blog out too bc I'm looking to start my own home bakery business soon. What app do you use to edit your videos?
Very helpful
Thanks for the information! Can you make a video about regulations in your state?
Girllll your eyes are so beautiful!!!
Thank you very much for sharing
It is really helpful for me
This is so helpful! where can we catch your blogposts on pricing details? :( these links arent available :(
Your blog is not available anymore, so the comments to go check your blog post aren’t very helpful :(
Excellent video, thank you!
I thought it said fail behind her lol!
But that what it wrote, no??
What does it say if its fail??
I was literally going through the comments to see if anyone else thought so too. I was like why would she want to have fail, what inspiration is that, then I looked closed to realized it's fail🤦🏽♀️
This was helpful! Thank you.
Hi Emma, your blog links aren’t working for me. Do you have an updated link?
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. When you sold your baked goods to other businesses did you have to bake in a commercial kitchen? In my state, if you sell baked goods from your home, you can only sell directly to consumers and not other small businesses. Otherwise you’d have to bake in a commercial kitchen. Please shed any light on that if you could cause I’d like to sell to businesses from my home kitchen if there’s a way to do that.
What about competition? I used to be a home baker. Than I quit. I bought an edible printer wich supposedly I have to use it at least once every two weeks. Now I'm forced to make cupcakes or other little desserts just to be able to use the edible images im printing with my edible printer otherwise the images will go to waste. I been selling the box of two cupcakes for $5 😅
Hi! When I click on the links in your video it says "Account suspended". Can you give new links? Thanks so much! Love your videos!
Same!!
how did you do the delivery of your product? Did your customers picked from your home?
You did well
cool
I’m not sure how helpful this video is for people who actually want to start a home business. I didn’t really see anything that struck out to me as great advice. I did watch the whole video though. Good luck in your endeavors!!!
My mom bought few things for my small business (bakeshop), sadly one thing is missing and we ran out of funds 😢 badly need an oven (secondhand oven is a wonderful blessing). I'm a chef and baker. I need someone to fund my oven and some little money for groceries. I promise I won't let you down ❤💯 I just want to help my mom, she's working overseas and sick. I just want to feel her hugs and kisses before something bad happens to her.
Where do you buy your cupcake boxes and cake boxes
How did u process payment from your customers did you make a website or used a service such as paypal?
So do you still think buying in bulk is a good idea whenever you are literally starting from 0 customers or should we jus start small so things don’t go bad ?
Or is their certain things you can buy in bulk that last longer the others ?
Thank you. The information you supplied is quite sufficient and I realized that when an acquaintance asked me to make some baked goods like Brownies or Rice Krispy Treats and I quoted a price of $30.00 for the Brownies , for example; he said,” Yeah, I don’t know.” I told him to think about it. Everything is not Free, except the eating of the goods.Even electricity costs ( my oven / stove top is electric). I have yet to hear back from him,so, I guess he is still thinking about it. Again, Thank you. 👍👍✨
Hi Emma, I'm just now watching this as I was surfing through the internet to get some insight on how to start a successful home baking business. So my question is that how do you partner up with companies who would sell your products and what is the criteria that you have to meet for companies to buy your products?
Yes, I’m wondering the same. How did you approach and gain the company customers?
Hi Emma! In your state regarding cottage law u are allowed to sell
Wholesale? I’m looking in Illinois and interested in starting and would love to work with local cafes. But I don’t think I’ve ever heard of cottage laws allowing this? Is your state and exception? Thank u!
What about license? Do individual states (I’m in MN) require license plate to bake to sell?
How to you approach business to possible sell to them? What's the protocol?
I’m going to contact small coffee shops and restaurants to offer my baking product and open a wholesale account
That's actually pretty smart
have you closed down your blog? i cant access any of the links :(
:) do you share your recipes too? amazing help tq, i am in malaysia an thinking
From a legal standpoint what do you need to have to sell to other companies/businesses?
Hello, l was trying to go watch your blogs but was not able . Can you help or are they not available? Thank you
Blog please
Sourdough bread takes forever.
Even though I’m from the UK 🇬🇧, where can I get containers/boxes that can go in the oven?
It depends on what your making, pac-a-cake on facebook sells foil traybakes with clear lid boxes
Does anyone know how to find business Facebook groups who are doing a baking business from home. How do I connect and share ideas with them? I am not a regular Facebook member just a business member.
How do you accept payments online, in person, events, etc. I don't want to do cash and was just wondering how you process payments.
SQUARE is good.
@@tennesseegirl5539 thanks
Hello, I have a question I’m hoping you can help me with please.
having negative figure in your house really make impact on your thoughts cause any time you see that FAIL figure you say out loud in your mind and you activate your subconscious mind to take action and that's gonna be your manifestation. and you get that negative life with you
The sign says fall
After all costs, split the profit 50/50 with wholesaler what they charge retail. Try again, charge your worth wholesale. Work through you problems and find a way
If you are trying to make money I would suggest going to a supply store and not Costco or sams club. Your cost goes way down and you see profit jump. It’s strange how pies weren’t profitable for you. Pies were the easiest and one of the most profitable items in my bakery , especially cream pies.
Hermosa
My biggest problem is to get orders! I do not know how to get orders
Your links are not working?
What was your most profitable product you made ?
Small bakery .. ovens, convection, ? What type of oven? For home Bakery
I think you should buy a gas oven if you are planning to do home bakery bc if you are using electric oven, it’ll double your electricity bill.
The accounts are suspended.
In the background i though the letters said “FAIL”
