I had no idea that the director, Gary, died back in 2011 at age 49 after a long continuous battle with cancer. Poor guy. Says he was surrounded by loved ones too. This movie is so well done and one of my favorites, practically grew up with this film. Thank you Gary for directing such an incredible movie. May he continue to RIP.❤️🙏🏼

Too bad Mark Ruffalo is a married man since 2000,while Jennifer Garner was dating Micheal Vaughan at the time this film was filmed after she divorced Scott Foley.
Just looked up the director, Gary Winick, and found out he died more than ten years ago. Didn't expect that 😢 Felt I got to know him a tiny bit in this documentary. Glad he had a good time making the movie.
Still one of the best romantic films I've known.
I think it took some underrated acting on gardners part to be so 13 ish and immature in her movements and voice

Few years older than Jen G. But still love this movie. Exactly 80's stuff and catty teenage stuff. I think that's why people go punk, retro, etc., it's too hard to be a sixth chick. But really no one really wants to be a sixth chick, they just want to be themselves but can't, so just like in the movie you dream of being older with a great job, confidence, clothes, etc. Just spot on. And gorgeous Matt as an adult. How could you not want to go back and wait for him to grow up?
What was fascinating to hear that even the 6th chicks clothing had a storyline.
A masterpiece of a legendary movie which will never die.

One of the dumb scenes that I didn't like is when Judy Greer gave Jennifer Garner a pointed look on her face when she told Jenna to say, "I'm gonna walk into this office and not let anyone know I'm hung over." or she might say, "I'm gonna walk into this office and not let anyone know I'm whining that I am the real Jenna Rink." She could've told Lucy to stop giving her the pointed look because it is annoying. But Lucy refused as she said, "No, I am not going to stop. Wanna know why I am giving you that look? Because I like doing that to you, So." (gives her the pointed look once again). The only movie critic enjoyed this movie was Richard Roeper who was going to say that he loved the scene when Judy Greer was giving Jennifer Garner the pointed look and was not going to apologize after that happen. But I have to agree with Roger Ebert on this one because he gave it a "thumbs down" when they reviewed this movie on their movie review program in 2004. I also hate the part where Jenna's mom removed the tissues off of her shirt. Her dad (Phil Reeves
) could've told her mom to leave it alone. But her mom (Kathy Baker) will say, "Oh hush up dear, I am not going to leave it alone because I don't like it very much, now hush up." But her father refused to be quiet because he was serious.
It's kind of gross because Matt kisses a woman with the mind of a 13 year old.

I think you have to see the movie as a dream or a fantasy from the point of view of a thirteen year old in order to enjoy it :)
